FC Barcelona Thread

I don't think that was a dive , nor a foul. He got a jab below the chest region and got the air taken out of him. It was a shocking result Barça had waves of attack n No end product.

I didn't saw the game today. Could someone tell if the king Messi played well? Or like shit like against Atletico?

Could agree more! Bayern will be the perfect club for him at this moment.

lol i hope not.it will mean whoever face bayern will have no chance to win against them .although most team cant beat them with their current lineup so including messi will be quite boring..as a neutral

It doesn't matter if a player gets injured, there's people who just celebrates players being hurt. To think that Neymar feigns here is just stupid, it was an accidental blow and it hurt.

Yes, Neymar dives now and then, like all players in the Liga. But hey, you can come here, desire someone to break Neymar head and go unpunished, it's how things work here.

people are actually trying to defend this:LMAO:

That's Barca fans for you. Their poo doesn't smell like the rest of us apparently.

I can't believe some people can't see through their 'holier than thou' attitude. Barca dive, kick, cheat and con refs yet the media and UEFA adore them.

Makes me sick.

I read that Cesc didn't really wanted to join Arsenal. Although he was humble to be wanted by Arsenal. It was the parents that pushed the deal that w'd change the family life, financially . So, it's hard trying to keep parents happy when the economy is doing no favours while suitor in suitcases full of money lurking about.

My beloved club are responsible for taking many youth players from other clubs and filling their pockets w/ cash. Gnarby bought a Mercedes a few weeks ago and posted it on twitter '#myfirstcar' that's the difference a reserve player that's able to buy a £80k car vs. a youth player in another club just in the reserves living on strap cash.

Its obvious that Cesc won't join Arsenal. Its obvious that he won't leave Barcelona!

I think Bebo is explaining how Cesc was snapped by Arsenal when he was 16. And he's absolutely right, that's the way they did it, taking profit of the legal hole that makes Spanish clubs unable to sign contracts to under-18 players, while in the UK you can do so.

It's the reason why lots of Barcelona yougsters fly away at that age, still now, in the search of early money, and most of the time it's the parents that push their sons to do the jump. But it seems that Fifa doesn't give a shit about this and decided to ban the club who invests more in the education of its young players.

I swear, we should just bite the bullet and get these matches choreographed like the WWE.

2 minutes of football, 2 minutes of crying. 2 minutes of football, 2 minutes of pushing and shoving. 2 minutes of football, 2 minutes of diving.

It's such a farce.

Tough times for Barca fans but we will be back

Pinto is such a poor keeper. Atleast he managed to make a hero out of Gareth Bale. The whole game changed when Pedro came on for Cesc. I just dont think there is a place for Cesc in Barca. Neymar really should have buried that chance he got.

felt weird but I cant remember watching Barcelona look that toothless upfront, Messi never really looked bothered.

You know what the best thing about Atletico's win in the CL is ? That there will be no "classico" in the CL this year... i hope it stays like that for the next 50 years...

I'm fed up with classico's, with all the diving, the play acting...how can fantastic football players be such huge arse holes ?

Some clubs are becoming a cartoon version of themselves because of their success, both those clubs are very close to that...and this comingfrom somebody who genuinely likes Barcelona.

I also wonder if Barcelona and Messi wouldn't be both better of without each other...

Exactly, I used to enjoy watching El Classico, but it seems it's getting worse and worse in terms of play acting, cheating, crowding the referee, and so on.

I used to watch a lot of Spanish league circa 1999-2000 and back then the classicos were very intense, but without so many negative things as today - at least it's an impression I have.

Although I'm Brazilian, I've got no love for Neymar. There's no use saying it's because Barcelona are a bunch of cheats - Neymar has always done it at Santos and in the Brazil NT.
But then again, we look at those two pricks in the picture with him. Madrid is loaded with dirty pricks such as Coentrão, and especially Sergio Ramos and Pepe. Especially Pepe.
Pepe's reaction against Cesc when they had scored a goal was ridiculous. Unfortunately that's what El Classico is becoming all about. The Spanish FA has to clean up the game a bit, because it's getting unpleasant to watch.
It's not like Barcelona are absolute cheats and Madrid are dirty - they feed off each other, as long as the poor refereeing goes on in Spain like that. For the past few years, I've always considered the Spanish refs the worst in Europe and I think this has an impact on the league standards for cheating, diving, play acting. It's a real shame.

As for the dominance of the two clubs, I think it's sick as well. The TV rights should be more balanced - because as I understand, a much larger chunk goes to Barça and Real Madrid. They've allowed the gap to increase.
Only now there's a 3rd team breaking into this fight thanks to the superb work they've been doing at Atletico Madrid.

But when we look at how Real Madrid gets massive loans from the government, like they do, when the country is in recession... it's stomach-churning!
And how they pay 100m euros on one player. This whole Galactico thing, which have always made me suspicious. If you look into the club's financial books, I wouldn't be surprised if they spend more money than they earn.

And now this Neymar transfer is equally disgusting - more so because the real values were hidden and the player received 40m euros out of the fee. 40m! When Santos (the club who developed him) got 17m.

So we came to an age when players have too much bargaining power, more than ever. Is it good for the clubs?

Bebo mentioned Gnabry at Arsenal - a teenager earning that much, buying a top Mercedes as his first car. That was only a minor example.
We should really be thinking about Neymar, at 22 years of age, pocketing 40m euros from his own transfer.

I wonder, is it good for the development of young players as men? As in, having the slightest grasp of reality and how hard things are for most people in the world?
Well, food for thought.

Spanish football is farcical. The best thing for the league will be Atletico winning it though, it will make it interesting again.

Great rivals, better friends perhaps like Gatti and Ward after all the competitive battles? My picture of the season.

Hahahahha that last comment... :)

Real Madrid took example from Atlético's intensity and organization and was much more incisive, much deserved win IMHO.

Barcelona have serious trouble playing against teams with high organized pressure, long balls are part of the game still, you know...

Yes, I agree with mostly everything, though I would include an appreciation: all the teams in La Liga do try to cheat the ref most of the time. It's been a cultural thing and people who think Barcelona players dive more than the average should watch more La Liga matches.

The last bit about young millionaires it's also a big concern and one thing to worry about. Neymar is an excellent player but this transfer has raised many internal and external problems. Let's see if the boy can cope with them.
