FC Barcelona Thread

I doubt Barcelona has done anything that most other clubs aren't guilty of. I understand the need to statue an example but it would be so much more fair and effectfull (is that even a word?) if they did it across the board.

Effective ;)

I hate Barcelona and Real Madrid. they are everything that is wrong with Spanish football.

I hate Barcelona's "more than a club" bullshit. Like their shit doesn't stink.

It does stink. They've been tapping up players left right and centre for many years now.

I'd love to see FIFA throw the book at them.

and their tika taka football is so ZZZzzzz

"I hate" this and "i hate" that.
Football should not be about hate.

Everything that is wrong with Spanish football ?
Spanish football is a mirror of Spanish society...but haven't you noticed that more and more Spanish people are fed up with the corruption...

Football and football fans very often are exemplary for the country they are coming from.

I wonder what Spanish people would think about England if they read your posts.

I think most clubs "tap up" players. There's little point in bidding for a player if the player isn't open to the move

I wouldn't give two hoots what they thought of my posts.

I know many football fans that are sick of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"More than a club" is rubbish - they are no better than anyone else when it comes to dodgy dealings. Just look at the Neymar fiasco, the way they throw money around and dominate the tv money whilst Atletico, Bilbao etc struggle.

Disgusting.

I hate haters, you see? They represent all that's wrong in society.

For your information, "more than a club" has nothing to do with feeling better than anyone. It comes from 40 years of dictatorship during which catalan language and any catalan cultural expression was forbidden, and 25.000 people were murdered for political reasons only in catalonia (100.000 in all spain). Barça was the only symbol of the catalans for decades, thus they called the club "more than a club" because it was a symbol of ressistance.

For your interest, I'm a barcelona fan and club member and I don't think barcelona is better or worse than other clubs, we have the same average of idiots and geniuses around. We are guilty of being proud of our youth teams and our style? Yes of course, we've won 16 titles with it lately. I'm sorry you fall asleep with tiki taka, I guess we don't enjoy the same aspects of the sport.

About the transfer ban, the club may have done irregular things but no less than all the european clubs. There are about 15.000 young players in europe in the exact same circumstances than the 9 players Fifa is suing barça for. How can it be?

Who's interested insuing barcelona? Fifa said it started with an anonymous call, and some Fifa data is definitely wrong (one of the players is born in barcelona).

So it's really shocking also because the spanish federation (who represents Fifa in Spain) allowed all those transfers. Now all of a sudden they ban?

I'm convinced that barcelona managers didnt do things totally right (most of us hate this board) but this very selective punishment is harsh and probably unfair, unless they ban at least 20 more clubs.

It's ironic that some fans say we snap players from everywhere. Of course we do, like everyone else. That's how you grow a Messi and an Iniesta at your club. And at the same time an average of 4-5 players of 15-16 years quit the youth teams towards the premier each season, taking profit of legal holes and not even paying barcelona for it. But I guess that most premier fans feel this is the right way to do it.

It's an absolute scandal, that's what it is. I'm all for fair play in the transfer market and so on, but it would take some hours to collect enough evidence to convict 15-20 European top clubs for exactly the same. Ban them all or ban nobody, that's fair play.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most important football clubs in the world. Barcelona and Real Madrid make the most exciting match in the world: El Classico. Barcelona and Real Madrid are the most fantastic clubs. THEY MAKE THE FOOTBALL PRETTIER!! Nobody can be sick with this legendary clubs, because if this clubs didn't exist i don't know what football would be. Don't say you are sick of Barcelona and Real Madrid, because you can't simply say that!

Good for you miguell, but most of what you said is purely subjective. I agree that El Clasico is something special and I enjoy watching them even though I don't support either team.

I don't think there are "more important" clubs in the world, be it Man United, Barcelona, Madrid or Genk. Clubs, like companies and countries, come and go and will someday disappear.

I don't think el Classico is the most important match at all. To me, the most important matches are the ones that make me love football, be it a Champions final or an under-20 match between Ghana and Ivory Coast.

I know, I'm a romantic.

I can assure that i know thousands of people for who Genk is more important than all the other clubs you mentioned Alex....but otherwise, i completely agree with you...

Surely CL final or WC final are most important than El Classico but in national championships there is not a match like El Classico. Everybody see that match!

"El Clásico" always been there, but only in the recent years is this obsession with the game. Is just because they are the richest teams, with the two best players head-to-head. Still remember in the Early 2000's the game to see was the "Derby della Madonnina", simply because those teams were in the best league at the time, spent more money and have a fierce rivalry, altough AC Milan was a far superior team. To be fair, the most important game was against Juve, but that didn't have the same flair.

No reason to get into politics here. Suffice to say that Barça is a symbol for part of the catalan people, and they aspire to stay like that.

Staying on topic, I'd say that:

1. Bosman rules turned football into a money laundering pit - you now see crazy transfers everywhere.
2. I remember the times when teams were built around players from the youth teams. Good times.
3. I respect teams for their attitude towards the game. Players are not guilty of earning a fortune or of being put together in the same team. If they try their best and respect their opponent, they have my respect.

Well, I was trying to explain where the sentence "More than a club" comes from, and it comes from polytics, we can't ignore that. What should I say, just ignore the 40 years that totally changed the history of the club and the country? I don't want to mix sport and politics, but in this case they are already mixed, it's not my decision!

Of course, right now it doesn't have the original meaning and most people won't even know that it was created as a symbol to fight that dark times. Right now I would say that the slogan has been expanded to include the ambition of barcelona to represent a way of playing.

I'm interested in how you also support Ajax and Arsenal? 3 clubs?! I find it difficult giving energy to just one.

Anyway, glad that Barca are out of the CL. I find their style has been found out now and they rely far too much on Messi, as most sides would in all honesty.

But their tiki taka crappa borefest came to an end against an entertaining, fresh, dynamic Atletico side. Hope they go on and win the CL now.

Barca players surrounding ref, always diving, always moaning - can't stand watching them anymore and its a shame as I loved them as a young boy growing up.

Why are you here?

If you hate my favourite club I don't see the sense

also shocking that granada managed to score. their attackers looked so pathetic it could have been 3 nil at least.

I want atletico to get the title so it's still okay for me. :)
