eFootball PES 2021 Discussion Thread (CONSOLES)

Just ordered this game on Steam for the first time but it says its not available until 5PM tomorrow! Is this normal for Steam then?

ugh so frustrating the game can play one way one day and different the next. Overall game is prob closer to pes 2020 demo IMO atleast on exhibition. I am waiting to start a ML until i import an OF.

Also, when i was playing against the likes of PSG, Bayern, City etc. yesterday, i changed their tactics. I condensed their lines to try and make less space, i also turned on geghen press so they were more aggressive. The matches definitely felt a lot tighter. Today, I didn't mess with opposing teams tactics and instantly i felt more space. One of the things i always do before i start a ML is fix the tactics for all the teams in the league as well as top teams in europe in case i see them in european competition. Atleast in 2020 on top player i had really good matches. We'll find out about 2021 soon enough.

Everything else I said before i stand by. i think 2021 is a better version of 2020. I am on the fence about the A.I. dribbling now as to what causes the A.I. to do take ons and other times just be 1-2 touch pass fests

Well, it seems that i should probably wait for more reactions for you guys (thank you as always).

The switch in feeling really worries me and of course the scripting part. It's just a dealbreaker as time goes on. Can't play Exhibitions all the time.. It's just to easy and as a principal also too much for a game that isn't developed for more than that.

with pes and fifa it really is a shame you have to try things a certain way to get the best out of it. For example, I play ML on top player because there’s no real script and I was told top player stats really matter where as on superstar in ML it’s a level that is there just too challenge you more so that utilize stats. The downside is once you build up a super team on top player it can become easy at times which is why I build with young players like Haaland, Camavinga, pulisic, M. Sarr etc. and build them up and watch them progress instead of playing with the Messi’s and Neymar’s of the world.

I find this way of playing gets the best out of the game for me and gets me my footy fix but to others that want to play on superstar and want to have teams of top Players I can totally see the frustration and I prob wouldn’t buy the game if I’m honest

The scripting is of course an issue but if overall the game is better and fun again, it would be a lot easier to put up with some of the artificial cheating. Because if 2021 is good enough to involve me, i am more patient with it. Meaning, i take more time to build up and use the defense arrows whenever needed. Then, when the script kicks in, at least there is a much higher chance i can divert my looming fate.

Just from responsvieness standpoint (ingoring anything else), if you can get that feeling by watching video at all, that does look like an improvement idd

That's what I thought! It's crystal clear to everyone that Konami number 1 priority is the MyClub so if the main players are complaning about it MAYBE something good can happen, MAYBE....

For me what bothers me the most is this nonsense A.I from the clubs. I remember once playing with Werder Bremen that I beat Bayern in such easy way that after that all the experience was gone for me, after I played against Maiz and they simply destroyed me...
 
I'm not playing it, that is not my youtube channel ;) I don't even own the game, Im just waiting for more reviews and foremost for mods/tooling in place before I even consider buying it. PES without mods is like a night and day, playing PES21 even with better responsiveness but without all the mods is still not worth IMHO. Hopefully @juce who made a post above will consider at least bringing sider to PES21 :) otherwise I'm not buying it! that is compliment to you @juce and lots of other people here around, giving us all the goodies Konami have not given for 10+ years. Anyway, that's one of the reason I said ignoring anything else, it looks idd like amateur or regular. There's one more on this channel, the responsiveness also "looks" good there

If PES 2021 is its the same PES 20 but only more polished, why Konami dont fix PES 20? To show some good faith, they should fix It. A Last patch. If you want to upgrade to season 2021 them you should buy It.

This Just dont seems right to me.

All good man. I had dribbles by CPU in very small bits as well in 2020. Then mostly that dreadful and unrealistic 1-2 way of building up attacks that, from all the videos I've seen so far, seems to be in full force in 2021 as well.

Probably for some coincidence you simply had a bit more dribblings in your first games ;)

Haha, Konami fix the no foul bug - the AI make no more tackles anymore...

The CPU Defender and Goalkeeper don't play football they play the outstanding gameplay from Pes2020 with more Bug's, ah sorry, features.

Input lag and response sharper and snappier..As is the cursor..Liking the snappier and better movement going forward..Players moving better to receive..ie making forward movements or runs as well as moving away from there marker to receive rather then being so static..There’s definitely going to be more scoring opportunities.

Defenders more alert(making more interceptions when your not controlling them,more awareness of the ball)..The greater level of response takes away a lot of the frustrations of 20 and the ability to close down and snuff out danger more easily..

Heading around the box and in the six yard box is a weapon again..It’s nice now to be able to properly head the ball and execute more powerful headers off crosses.

Only had two games but overall smoothness,response massively improved..as are the animations,clipping,and general small alterations to the way players don’t get caught up in animation locks and freezing around the pitch when making contact..

The key word here imo is optimisation..You feel it.Graphics lovely as are the animations and game flow(much better then 20)..Looks absolutely stunning on the Xbox X..

Cpu AI definitely more varied..Not the one trick pony stuff we saw last year..And much easier to stretch and pull out of position..

Skinning a slower defender with a fast striker or forward is more akin to fifa now(a good thing imo).Opens the game up especially on the counter or break..

Hey man are manual finese shots fixed, is there better player id, are the refs fixed and also can we pull off skill moves and finese dribbling without our players taking years to do so

Same here buddy,after Pes 20 which I can't stand,Pes 21 will not be bought by me, probably on Xbox game pass around late November/December like both 19 and 20
 
For some reason playing in the euros seems to turn the speed and player responsiveness down in pes21 🤷🏻‍♂️ i hope this is not the case in ml. Exihibition games play great but i just played 5 games in the euros and it was noticeably sluggish 😡
 
Here's a couple of questions after a bit of a 2020 session tonight i hope those with the new game could answer...

  1. Are 90% of the CPU's free-kicks still on target and are they still scoring from even most of them?
  2. Are skills with the right stick actually worth trying this year? On 2020 there's so much latency when trying them you may as well just pass the ball to the opposition because you're dispossessed as soon as the feint animation kicks in.
