So ummm not that I'm complaining cause I quite liked PES20 bar a few issues but where are all those changes people are talking about? This is the same game for me? Granted I just played a game and under rain (hate rainy games in PES) but I didn't see any changes, like at all
 
Tried one game , feels really good. A few more animations , more responsive AI more varied . I like the shoulder challenges . For fouls it reminds me of earlier Pes patch , I wasn't winning any then did a simple skill move then switched direction quick and AI tripped me . I won 3 fouls in a short space of time
 
Pleasantly surprised so far. I'll probably get slaughtered for this but it feels like last years demo with improvements.

Does feel a little too open at times but I think that's what's giving me the fun factor. Pace seems much more prevalent, been out sprinting defenders with Rashford, Martial etc. Seen a few new cool animations, De Gea tipped one over the bar & it looked so fluid, I'm pretty sure I've seen the animation before but it's been polished up to look more natural.

You can't placebo more animations , they are either there or not
The other thing is the AI press, not tried enough but my keeper had it has the ball at feet and AI pressed him down making me rush the kick. I've not tried standing still with a defender yet although it doesn't bother me too much

Also keepers seems to come off line a bit more when one on one

When I do the Live Update........numerous teams have Dummy players. Vitoria Setubal is ALL Dummy players. Many teams in La Liga as well..........I didn't look to see how wide spread it was as I went and deleted my EDIT data.
 
Everyone who doesnt see the differences didnt play 2020 enough.

- dribbling way better and more responsive
- headers stronger (yay!)
- more openness on attacks / defensive holes
- slightly imrpved shooting and keepers
- some new animations (passing, headers)
- collisons improved

Not placebo, just 30 years of football games experience. Im pleaseantly surprised. I liked 2020 and Im happy that this is a better version of it.
 
I myself playing quite a lot out of 2020 see even those small improvements in the videos as well, these are subtle small differences with responsiveness, passing, animation transition when collision happens and beloved manual passing like another one from TheTrueBrits with manual passing, it just looks quite a bit better than 2020, rest of the game is of course exactly the same as promised and expected. If somehow we could get our referees back as vanilla 2020 or PES5 then I could play the hell out of it till 22 comes and delivers that huge expectations we have for 10+ years.

Having that said, I will still patiently wait for mods to come, and see if Konami gets this base ruined again by data packs, if not I may consider buying it with some discount.
 
There's nothing groundbreaking here, it's just an improved 2020 in quite a few subtle ways. I'm enjoying it but Konami will inevitably try & tweak things & it will go downhill fast.
I don't hold out much hope at getting any long term play out of this, I'll enjoy it while it lasts though.

I really cannot believe people have fallen for this...well scam in all honesty. They are playing on your goodwill for a footy fix by making you pay for an update. The least konami could have done was to fix those persistent issues for 21.

And the cynic in me sees their delay of the free Euro content as something to boost their justification for charging for an update. Its a sorry state of affairs.
 
Our review of the season update went live just after midnight if anyone is looking for any detailed opinions. I also have a video of a quick match with some discussion surrounding the game embedded there as well if anyone is on the fence.

Currently trying to decide whether to just keep playing on PS4 or buy the PC version so I have access to the mods again.

I take anything and everything this guy says with a huge pinch of salt. PES Universe, which he represents, literally makes money from people buying their option file. He's not going to say the game is terrible.

I'll wait for some neutral perspective and feedback on this game/update before considering a purchase.
