fair shout. When researching vsync, adaptive vsync and fast vsync etc - I am now even more convinced that vsync itself is set to be permanently 'on' inside PES20, causing the micro stutter people experience. Vsync enabled can introduce input lag online especially; and tearing/stutter when FPS drops below standard. (60 on a 60hz or whatever) So some guys on nvidia forum suggested vsync adaptive as the best option. But obviously the best solution of all would be when konami bring the 3 vsync options back into the settings.exeI'm not sure whether it affects other monitor speeds. On my 60hz TV running in 1080p (or as a test QHD, using the over-res method, whatever it's called) I just needed VSYNC adaptive (not half this time) and 60fps in game settings for smooth.
Rather than not optimised, I feel they might have only tested it on 60hz monitors/TVs (as that's the main console focus) and, for at least some setups, non-standard refresh rates are causing weird timing issue in how frames are displayed and/or how this coincides with vsync.
Like perhaps vsync, when reducing the framerate, is splitting down the frames to a number divisible cleanly into 60, but not 75/144, so it then has to keep splitting down the frames until is has a number divisible by both on the 60fps frame scaling options? But who knows, I'm just guessing.
I have no idea why they thought it a good decision to remove the options tbh, bizarre
