eFootball PES 2020 Discussion Thread (PC)

Can you tell us about AI variety?

Is there a difference playing against Chelsea or Juventus or Real Madrid?
Is there a difference playing against stronger or weaker teams, at least?

Yes there is some variety, bad teams are worse and are a nightmare to play against as they just sit back all game long. I player as man city btw.

It's down to tactics mate. It's a bit of a chore but if you remove "deep defensive line" from team tactics for every (or most of them) team on your league of choice, things will change. Especially if you're playing in the English leagues where almost every team has these tactics set. It will require a ML restart of course.

Yes saw this on a YouTubers video, something about Klashman tactics. I don't have time to go through and fix this really. This would undo with a live update too right? Such a shame really because it makes the game such a chore to play.

Trust me, it takes all of half an hour to fix. The only time you'll lose is from restarting. Live update will mess with this but not an existing ML save. Once it's set and you start, it stays set.

Almost perfect:
- First touches are magnificent, really makes a difference to have a player with good technique
- Pace of the game (playing on -1) is brilliant. If I could have an inbetween of 0 and -1 would be perfect

- Dribbling is super nice. You can "easily" get past defenders even with slow technical players. Might be a tad too easy with a fast player but it's better dribbling than any football game I've seen yet....

AAAAAAAAnd here you lost me ... First I'm not sure what do you mean when you say " dribbling " ....? Just hanging on and running around defenders with Left stick/Dpad and R1, or all-around dribblings like a right stick, R2, close control, tricks and shEt like that?
Second, I'm not sure all that is base on games vs AI on regular or ... what difficult or online games !?

What I can say is ... if their good side about dribbling for me, that is .... if you take the player with the ball itself, alone on field and you try some moves, yeah you can make a lot of cool stuff. You can merge one trick with another, your player is usually responsive, you can do some nice flick and turn if you use and super cancel, but all that is useless after you catch that player and play him on the field with defenders. AI always know where you go and where you turning on, AI always ignores all your tricks, flicks, turns and just go straight to the ball. It's the same if you play vs a player who holds the X button.
In full game, dribbling is useless.

I know I say it almost in my any post but I will say it again :
Putting close-fines dribbling on the right stick is BAD and stupid.

I'm playing on professional difficulty mostly. I'm using everything on the board as it comes to dribbling. Less tricks, mostly just tempo chances and close control, throw a body feint or walk over here and there. I'm playing with a fixed player with below 60 top speed and like 62 acceleration and I can dribble past Championship teams just fine.

I've been playing all manual since like Fifa 10 so that might help with controlling the dribbles too. Who knows.

The only problem with the dribbling is that sometimes after receiving a pass and doing the first touch there is a delay before you can do anything even if the player controlled the ball just fine.

Really? I think it's one of the best things this year's Pes has done. Definitely the most useful close control system I've ever tried in a football game.

Btw, has anyone noticed in Master League the player's all have an attribute for how used they are to certain type of tactics? Long ball, short ball. Aggressive/Contain pressure etc.

And the attributes grow the more you play those kind of formations. That is a really weird almost Football Manager-esque thing to have in otherwise such simple game mode. I don't yet know how much difference it makes when the stat grows but that is really great to have.

The individual training is really nice to have too. Skill training seems way too quick though.

I am probably slightly above average skill in football game controls cause I've been playing all manual since like Fifa 10.

Sorry, but you play on difficult that your point to lost weight ... and make your review even more useless as that new close control.

For me, the problem with PES series begins since Konam start to listen and read reviews from basic players. Players that don't use and understand 70% of what the gameplay mechanics have, that why after every year the game become more and more basic.

I'm getting the sense you have a hard time talking in a calm manner.

If you play on a higher difficulty than the middle one on either Fifa or Pes against the AI the whole thing just becomes unrealistic. Everyone suddenly passes like Pirlo.

Playing on full manual with a fixed player with a team rated on OVR 63, on professional difficulty. Yeah, piece of cake. Do you play on full manual controls since you are such a leet hero?

Oh... you are from this one " Look I play with a manual so I'm cooool and pro ". Well..... then I'm manual players on the OTHER LEVEL... I'm not even holding the gamepad, I'm so manual expert that I'm kicking the gamepad. When you reach that PES manual level, without looking cringe, calls me.

I kinda of understand what you mean, they want to dumb things down for the masses while AI has ultimate control of outcome when it comes to competitive matches in order to keep things balanced.

I think I can safely ignore you from now on.

Oddly enough, this is a system that’s really nice for adapting players to your idea and game plan. I really like it because it’s deep enough but not that FM enough.

Well... I don't really think it's justified to say dribbling is "almost perfect", "super nice" and better than any other football game when it's talking about a low difficulty that doesn't press or tackle you aggressively/effectively.

When you play either another human player (online/offline) or a higher difficulty, most of the dribbling controls are almost completely useless. The only thing I've found that works sometimes is a perfectly timed speed burst (R1 double tap).

I've played with higher difficulty the dribbling seemed fine? I just didn't like the impossibly accurate passing that the higher difficulties have. Against another human I could see the dribbling being too sluggish.

It's my preliminary reactions after 30 games keep in mind as well.

Full game, no.
You can play the demo first version of July 29th: https://www.evo-web.co.uk/threads/g...emo-version-1-0-first-version-released.80852/

Kurosaki Carlos, spanish bro aka "GIFMAN" joins to the fight!

Go go go!

Txs Chris

Thanks all who replied. Forgotten about the option files.

And regarding the versions, I wasn't referring to the demo though. There is a patch called 1.2, but the version no on the Konami pes page is 1.01.01, so according to the video posted above, there are imo significant Gameplay differences in this 1.01.01. So my question is is there a way not to apply this patch that changes the version to 1.01.01? Unless the video above is talking about demo gameplay and not pre 1.01.01 gameplay?

I would appreciate clarification, thanks.

people! need help. i have weak cpu. sometimes i see mictostutters but most of the time i have 60 fps (i play with high settings). what graphic options most load cpu?

The thing is, the demo dribbling was among the best in all football games, even in online multiplayer. They've destroyed it since then...

I had microstutters as well with the latest nvidia driver.
Rolled back to the former one and stutter was gone.

For stutters, I had to do these NVidia settings depending on screen I was using.

For 4k 60hz TV - Vsync - Adaptive (60fps picked in game settings)
For QHD 144hz monitor - Vsync Adaptive (half) (30fps in game settings)

The game seems to have some issues with implementing vsync correctly at times.

Any chance people can stop playing and bring out a option file to remove the fake EU teams at least.

Id like South America sorted as well, but cant see that for a while

But the 7/8 EU teams should be easy, so crack on chaps :BRMM:

I mentioned previously for those with bad microstutters, i reckon it is down to the game having Vsync hardcoded to be 'on' always when playing the game. Hence why they removed the option to turn it off in settings. Soon as they implement that option back into the settings, it'll be fixed IMO.

I had very seldom microstutters and the way i seemed to have got rid of them was to stop running sider while playing the game... so use dpfilelist now

It's marketing stuff. Its the sencond patch so I've called it 1.2 because IMO its easier to understand.
