eFootball PES 2020 Demo Discussion Thread (PS4/Xbox)

PES Universe are there and playing the game. They've posted something about a "misplaced pass".

Now I had my suspicions... On PA1, which you play on by default (and I suspect they're playing on too, I've spoken to Barry and he's not the PA3 type), on PES 2019, it is literally impossible to misplace a pass other than to hit one out of play.

Apart from that, all passes are perfectly, laser-guided on target; a defender will just step forward to intercept, for example.

So I asked a question.

"Can be over-powered or under-powered" - but not off-target.

"Happens with lesser-skilled players or first-time passes" - but every normal pass... Perfect.

That answers my biggest question... :CURSE:

Our own eyes haven't been lying when watching those presentation matches then. Laser guided, perfect every time, first time passes once more it is then.

You pick which team in a derby match that you "support", and then every time you win online, you earn that team points. Yep.

Someone's just said you can choose your transfer budget when you start the ML now, that's interesting.

That and the second divisions being back are the best things to come out about the game so far.

it's on the website, it says transfer frequency and difficulty are also customizable

and of course why play only with legends / Barcelona?
is it part of the deal with Barcelona to shw them in every game played ?

That's why I've always maintained that these playtester guys are shills, wittingly or unwittingly. They just can't give a straight answer without spinning it into something positive, he's asked about "misplaced" passes and responds talking about underpowering/overpowering. Not that it even needs to be asked since it's obvious from the footage passes are still on rails.

Anyway I think I've seen enough for me to know this is another skip year, let's see what next-gen brings.

P.S. it could just be me but something feels fundamentally off with shooting and I've felt it for a while. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it feels like every action is preordained. It ruins any element of suspense or unpredictability, as if the goalkeeper has already dived and is ready waiting by the time the shot arrives. In Classic PES there was always the satisfying illusion that anything could happen and somewhere along the line it's been lost. I don't know, but all efforts on goal whether they end in goals or saves just look flat and lifeless to me in most cases.

It is all too automated and soulless. No point in 3 PA at all when there is so little difference between them. It's like Konami are frightened to death that someone will play their game and not be instantly good at it.

I don't know about you guys, but watching today's stream, I've seen misplaced passes and loose ball control quite a few times already. If I have to be real, I actually like the gameplay I'm seeing. But they mess it up on final release.
P.S. The clipping in this game seems to have increased a lot (the shirts and shorts mainly)

I mean they are playing Barca vs Legends, what the hell do you expect. In real life Barca passing success rates is very very high, and considering it’s against a legends team, they will obviously have high rate passing success as well. Do you guys actually watch football or is it just small leagues. And on that note, they played Palmerias v Barca and you could see the difference, I have seen a couple of misses. If it’s another match I will see your point but not this one.

Bhatti said it in the presentation.

Maybe it was my low expectations, but I think that the new camera angle did something good for the game. It's looking slower and better.

Regarding the First touch i felt that there was some more unpredictability regarding that. But I think it was my mind who wanted to see that it was more obvious with the Palmerias players. My guess would be that it's implemented equally to all players.

Dribbling looking good too man.
Being able to shield,fakes etc.
But no D2s was my top three concern.
Can we set forour hope Elgiganten this year again?

My thinking on all this:

The PES team should have skipped E3 altogether this year. Release a trailer ahead of E3, leak tidbits of new features. Then do a full launch at Gamescom with professional presenters. Be both genuine and excited about what is in the game. Have presenters talking over people playing the game who are trying to make the game look good. Have Adam on hand to talk about specific things if there needs to be clarification on what might or might not be in a given build.

Currently, what they do with E3 is barely build any hype at all. It wasn't bad last year, because the build was close to finished given the early release date they set. But it looks like this year, the game is still in development, and so Adam keeps hedging his claims, and almost apologising for the quality of the current build. It's depressing, and it's terrible from a marketing perspective. If the build isn't good enough yet: don't show it. Really, it's that simple.

I don't think anyone is hyped hearing about the new branding, or the new buzzwords that some twats in suits have been bandying around a boardroom. They want a near-finished product and some solid details on the game. And they don't want to sit through a tortuous, repetitive shit show just to find that out.

It makes my eyes bleed. Own goals, all the time.

EDIT: oh, and other thing... this teasing of "ooh, we have some great news to announce which you guys will absolutely love..." – it's really shit. Just hype it the days before, not a month away. Not with vague hyperbole. Imagine tuning into that broadcast being curious about PES but not a fan? You'd be mystified about the game, and you'd find all this "hush hush we can't do a reveal yet teehee!" stuff really offputting.

I'm agree. The game has a really good base. They have to work on improve it and add more deeper mechanics.
The PC modders will be able to reduce or remove all the arcade stuff. Your tactic knowledge could be really usefull for them.:TU:

Yes, after seeing the footage on day 2. The gameplay is certain to be quality. Everything is about the presentation and how the modes such as master league hold up and getting things right on release for once!

Hold on. Second divisions are back? Pardon my ignorance but this is genuinely great news. Is there a link to this or was it said in one of the streams ?

I see something that is really embarrassing, is not the system of collisions seem pathetic?
he stumbles and falls like a bag of sand, and the rival too, seriously ... in matters of physics and contact .. SHAME.

I have repeated it in another thread so many times.
weight / inertia / fatigue
WITHOUT THESE 3 PARAMETERS WILL NEVER BE A SIMULATOR
I'm still waiting for a goal from long distance, or head

Bayern's not winning anytime soon. They're not even the favorites for the league so far next year.

So, I have to ask, but if anyone believes the passing is too accurate, why is that even a problem when you can just play it on manual?
