Understood.

But a small detail like that plus the demo improvements in a 6-week demo vs 4 years of what we had?

I cannot wait til release date to see which one wins.

So it would have been better if they hadn't done anything at all...?

You didn't get the point about the screen colors.
I made some very interesting points in my post and yet somehow, some people decided that the bit with the screen colors change was the most important one of my post. Weird...

Chuny, let me clarify, I took note of your other points you made, and you made them very well, and are all justified points, my point was simply that for once, one year out of the last however many, Konami seem to be giving us a package that's actually worth our money, whereas for the last 8 years they haven't, for this I dont feel they should be commended, they owe us as fans bigtime.

I just thought it was strange you'd even mention a loading logo being inverted colour wise, it ha absolutely zero relevance to anything.

OH yeah, Master League has been embarrassing.
And I don't think THAT part of it is going to change this year.

You don't change logo out of nothing, tho. I agree that that on his own means very little, but coupled with the other stuff they did could very well mean they want to communicate their audience a new beginning or a change of direction.

"Could".

The Konami screen was merely a way to wrap-up my post mate.
But let's forget about that for a second. I get what you mean! I'm with you!
I'm among the people here that were trying to convince others NOT to buy PES 2017 and PES 2019 before they came out because it didn't feel like there were many substantial improvements to the game as a whole for us to spend our money on it. So I know exactly what you mean.

There are a number of reasons as to why they might just decided to say "hey, we slept long enough, it's time to wake up and really put in some work" to make a solid game this year, specially this year, with changes all around.

I hear ya mate.
I'm just very pessimistic, based purely on history.

There's every chance the full game will play nothing like the demo, because it happens every single year.

There's every chance the Konami figureheads on social media will still block anyone that doesnt ass kiss the game, and them, so the improved communication will not be there, guaranteed.

There's every chance there still wont be a visible trophy in the game for the biggest leagues and cups in the world, basic shit, unforgivable.

There's every chance that fouls and pass/shoot error will be toned down tenfold in order to satisfy the online kids who lobe frantic non-stop end to end 'fun' football.

Theres NO chance we will get smaller, more intimate stadiums to use in ML

I could go on, and on.....

Until these essentials are addressed, not just one year, but consistently, then I'll never have any faith or hope in Konami.

To clarify, the demo plays a great game of football, the potential is huge, and they have seemingly done more work than usual, and it feels like a PES worth my money, I have already pre-ordered, but I just have no faith or confidence in their decision making, attention to basics, or ability to decide a direction then actually stick with it.

Its all about pleasing the online MyClub players and those that stream the game and attend esports events.

The offline gamer is a forgotten audience, that will never change.

Seeriously mate, with all due respect, clicking 'Invert Colour' on a logo in photoshop does not mean a change of direction in comms for Konami, they are notoriously poor at communication

From the ignorant and over egotistical social media figures to the lack of any comms around patches and what they entail, through to the silence on other matters such as removal of features, fan requests etc, Konami, or rather PES productions, are the least customer focused dev i have ever witnessed.

Never understood why Pes has different release dates?
This year 10/9 Americas/Europe and 12/9 in Asia.
Why?
No guessing please

We see it differently.
I can't really say this being 100% sure but I think they kept that white screen with red text for approximately 10 years now.
This year, they sign some big exclusive partnerships. They start to pay attention to Master League. Gameplay feels much better than it has for the past 5 years, solid, stable, sportsmenlike football (no, scratch that, just kidding :PP). They changed the menus. They added a new game mode. They did this. They did that. Bla bla bla.

AND TO WRAP IT UP, THEY ALSO INVERTED THE COLORS OF THE MAIN LANDING SCREEN. It is a message. Pure marketing.
I imagine them, brainstorming ideas in a meeting and saying "OK we got all these points, all these ideas, the features list... what else can we do to make it look fresh and new right from the second you play eFootball PES 2020?" - "We should ALSO change the main screen".

there's some aesthetic enjoyment the game gives that just gets lost on me when playing pa0.

i'm probs going to start giving the pa1 a go for 2020 (if I get it) - kind of makes sense with the new controls

Going back few months ago, I had small simple wish list for 20
- Division 2's(!!!)
- fix the AI
- loose the fake/cheated feeling
- give me (and AI) more shot variety
- more physicality
- let me see AI dribble
By the looks of it I got it all and a bit more.
So, provided it will stay close to demo - I should be happy.

@Rodchenko - i dont really have any issues with manual crosses on stadium cam, but how do I do it? Honestly dont know, as its all a bit automatic. Yesterday I had a lovely goal, I skill dribbled pass some bloke (and Im still just randomly moving sticks, so nice tricks are more of a surprise to me than to AI), crossed into a box, had a lovely header and keeper parried it into top of the net.
Even wanted to put it onto GOTM thread, but pressed the wrong button, came out, pressed again... and it only recorded 4 seconds of my celebration.
This!!! :D

You just can’t imagine how many times I wasted video footage because I was excited and did the same. Way too many. :BRICK:

Just as a quick example from searching on Youtube;

The overhead kick in the first goal bouncing half way, the bending/floating trajectory on the second goal, and a weaker/imperfect strike in the last one finding the top corner... Also the motionless GK on one of the goals is something I haven't seen in 2020.

The combination of swerve and dip on this volley...

Just going into free training mode, setting up various first time shots/volleys and using the "play again" feature (Select button) to hit with different timing or run ups produces so many different kinds of shots in those PS2 games. I see nowhere near the variety in 2020, not even close.

I have to agree here.
The trajectory has been lost since PES 2014 I think.

Maybe earlier even. I´d love to see more of those floaty shots.
I mean, I enjoy scoring and I also enjoy my missed shots on the goal.
The ball physics are great.
But that trajectory like in those old PES games would add much more to it.

Other than that, I´m having a lot of fun with the demo.
I´m playing Palmeiras against all those big teams.

Last game against Barca. AI fouled me in the box and I was given my 2nd penalty in that demo.
Last year I barely had some...only when the incredible modders started with their gameplay adjustments.

There are so many situations in the match, that I enjoy...the counter attacks, the ball physics, how players control a ball....it feels very dynamic on the pitch.
I could flood this thread with gifs of movements I hadn´t seen before in PES.

Then, I can´t really disagree with @Rodchenko .

There have been matches where I felt exactly the same, specially on last year´s game and I was struggling to find the right difficulty level.
But I don´t really have that in this demo.

BUT: I am playing on PC with 15 min halves which is surely a big factor in this matter.
5 mins are just too short!

It´s hard to find space and often when I found it, I can´t beat the goalie.
But still, I do enjoy it, but I don´t feel it that extreme yet.

I do think though, that inertia and player forms (specially on GKs) should have a bit more impact to the game.

Been playing a load of Bayern vs Barca games and Messi really is a mystery under CPU control, totally ineffective and so easily shoved or stumbled of the ball. Meanwhile Phillipe 'mini Hulk' Coutinho has Sule bouncing of him! Bizarre. Be interesting with the full game to editMessi's stats and see what difference it makes... if any.

If they'd portrayed Coutinho right,he should have a very ovr (based on last season)
Hope they nerf Messi back to his real self

I'm really searching for the right difficulty level too. As I said, I enjoy playing PA1. And I enjoy playing Professional because of the way the AI builds up play. But it’s a little too easily to dispossess them on their own half. Especially when the GK kicks out a low pass to the nearest defender. Two or three goals and even more chances in last night’s session was because of this…

I might just have to bump it up to Top Player just for the added challenge although I don’t really like the way they (don’t) pass the ball around in midfield.

Going back to the stadium editor...and for the record I think that here is some truth to the rumour about being worried about EA suing them but the change in engine probably also has a hand to play in there as well.

I really wish that they would just create some assets so that you could create some basic or small stadiums at least. I am sick of playing the same arena each week in ML, especially if I am playing in the championship.
Something super basic like 4 or 5 stand 'shapes' that allow for 1 or 2 tiers etc.

Part of the problem with the excellent editor in 2013 was that there were assets that were super recognisable like a stand that look exactly like (or close enough) one of the stands at Stamford Bridge. If we had super generic structures that weren't so recognisable at least we could build some smaller & different stadiums to give the ML season a bit of variance.

Back on PES 2019 I agree with you, professional was also the right choice for me but I've neticed that on PES 2020 professional is way too easy , give Top Player a chance because it's really fun and balanced , m8

Same issue for me, at least stadiumserver will provide some relief but I don't get why they add these "small leagues" like Danish, Scottish etc. and no small stadiums. Last year there was only one stadium under capacity of 20 000 which is just insane, totally killing atmosphere of these leagues.

Some good news regarding master league is that the database has some apparent improvements. PES Master added some of the database of the demo and it has players loaned out correctly, as well as transfer values, wages and contracts that seem to be taken from Transfermarkt.

What I meant is this here. Watch from 0:58 (sorry, didn't find an outtake of only this first goal):

Watch how much space Leipzig has in attack and watch how much time he has to place the shot. Granted, this is Union Berlin not Bayern and it was their first Bundesliga match and it's clear to see that they are still knee-deep in second league mentality. But the way this would have played out in PES is either the cross pass would have been intercepted, or the defender would have read the inside turn and made the shot impossible, or the goal keeper would have saved it.

You'd have to dial difficulty down to at least "Professional" to get this kind of space and time, but as @MadmaxG79 pointed out, defending against the AI then gets way too easy.

Currently trying to outbalance this with PA0/advanced shooting which seems a good match. Still have to score, but was able to hold a few goalless draws at least.
