It's a bit annoying that the matchmaking system can't guarantee me playing another PA1- player for sure. I mean, when searching for manual players I only get paired with other manual (passers) if I have a normal rating but when it comes to PA1 I often feel it's more of a mixed bag. It's extra annoying since there are A LOT of PA1 players out there.

I mean, PES is something we love and all of us would love to see it shine again, don't we?
The formula for PES to be "shining again" isn't something which all of us will agree upon. Each of us would have his/her own.
For someone, to be better PES would require better visuals, for others more licences, for me it means better AI and finally fixing some bugs.
Of course, as every one of us would love PES to be better (as in "every of us would love PES to become closer to what they think it should be"), we tend to spend a little time trying to make it better with what we have: I'll do some kits for unlicensed teams, Klashman would look after team tactics (and, should he decide to start releasing kits again too, he'd be miles ahead of me in doing so
), Juce would get his head around LUA programming... Someone would just file a list of areas in which the game should improve.All of this is done for the good of the game, even if maybe we don't agree with what's written.

here is the reason why none soccer game since then ever looked that good in terms of footplanting and photorealism.
PS: It was on PS3 and run perfectly on a 10 yo PC...
Textures and details has nothing to do with photorealism.
Photorealism is lighting, reflections and occlusion.

This is spot on. I would like a max pass assist filter that can be set so your pass assist level is the max it will find. I don't want to play people on pa2 or pa3. Let me filter them out and let them all spam against each other.
Played a lot of games yesterday online, literally finish one start the next. Loving it. Playing as River Plate is superb fun and I am winning more than I lose even though I seem to exclusively play vs Juventus. Looks like they will be this year's Liverpool in online divisions, over powered and used by the cheap crowd all day every day.

That "connection signal" warning before proceeding to quick match is a bit of a problem.
Connections are great so far. All my online matches are against "1 bar connections" and all my matches are smooth, except 1.
I asked a couple of them if the gameplay is smooth on their side, and they say it is.

On non-fuma, that is okay because there lot's other players you can connect to.. but on fuma where players are limited, those potential matches are important.
Another thing for other players, there's an option of no-restrictions, balanced and stable.. If you choose no match restrictions(in terms of connection) in the first place, why decline the match if it's 1 bar?

Last night I decided to deviate from my usual manual only online search for a change/test and oh boy, the resulting match was very, very different to what I've been used to playing against manual opponents.
It was like a different game!!
When I play against manual opponents, the game feels slower, more deliberate and even though I usually lose (mainly due to my misplaced passes) I enjoy the games.
Once I changed to non manual, all bets were off.
It seemed that I could be matched up against any of the assisted passing levels which isn't good or particularly fair. But more than that, the game felt faster and as I was now playing against Barca instead of lesser south American teams(presumably because winning at all costs was now paramount), my opponent just wanted to get the ball to Messi and dribble through my entire team everytime! It was ridiculous and also not fun at all.
Have any of you guys experienced a different speed when playing against assisted opponents online?
I shall be going back to manual for sure and learn to pass more accurately that's for sure as I went from loving the game online to starting to resent it.

seems like the only ones who dislike 2020 are "pro gamers" and people that loved 2015-2019. no offence but to me this is a very positive sign. just hope they don't try and compropmise to keep the arcade lovers happy

But I´m afraid they probably rather try to please the pro gamers cause of all that efootball, pesleague stuff.
You should have a setting at the beginning "simulation" or "arcade".

I am a PA1 player, but funny enough i played against one guy who only had one thing in mind which is to give it to Messi even behind the halfway line sometimes and try to dribble my whole team. I was Boca and beat him easily 3-0 but it was funny seeing him try even though he saw how good i was at closing him down and stealing the ball when the chance presented it self. He might of had a bet with his buddy or something that he would score by dribbling half my team but doubt it !!
I mean i kept hoping he would see its futile and start playing like a normal guy as he wasn't half bad at defending and passing it from the back but nooooo had to give it to Messi !!

I had Rashford cushion a cross on his chest, then he stooped and performed a bullet header into the top corner from 10 yards out! Some of the game play/ai/tactics just doesn't make sense. Most playable pes we have had in ages, but still too much of the weird stuff left over for me though.

Yeah but i meant something must to be done with the refs.
Ok apart Player tackling ì mean that in some occasions refs are really blind...this is a part of the writing code that is not good enough for me...there is from my point of you a lack of PK in too many circumstances...unless you get a gun and shot the player into the box

Yup, good examples of how the AI *sometimes* will react to how the user is playing. Playing the passing lanes and containing rather than rushing the ball carrier with 2nd defender pressure will result in the AI looking for other ways to break you down.

It’s not the wonder medicine against all the sick stuff in the game, but it really changes how AI behaves and how the game unfolds. Been telling that for years.
That’s why playing fuma alone can change how it flows. Even when A.I. is not behaving that kinda human.
Combine the 2 factors and you have a totally different experience.

Felt like Boca had the ref in there pocket for most of the game but i had a good shout later on in the match.
Ive switched over to manual shooting since.Lovely low bobbling drive from smalling outside the box for a late goal..Not to much on the power and leaning on the stick.Timing counts.
The art of defence and knowing where to position your defence(thou shall not pass).

Yes, absolutely. Can't remember if I already said it, but I was playing another Boca-River the other day, I was winning 1-0 and I parked the bus as best as I could. It was really "human" to see the cpu try to open me up by desperately, but realistically passing the ball around.
Yeah. Classic WENB style comment. Of course free from every hint how the game should get more challenging and rewarding after three additional days of playing.
Maybe this is just me but I always feel the pitch is a bit too long in PES (something not helped by the AI's love for spamming Deep Defensive Line with every second team!) and you could chop 6 yards from both ends of the pitch, compress the game and close those gaps... and kill Deep Defensive Line with fire.
