This isn't entirely true. NBA 2k has the usual issues of being a next-gen game that pushes boundaries in terms of animation and graphical quality or still using older AI logic that don't fare well with new additions. Most of the issues it runs into, aside from obvious bugs that are usually timely addressed, are related to its online infrastructure because mostly everything in the game is related to online. You need to be online to play the main games modes, your save files are associated with being online and so forth.
In terms of 'offline' modes, the game is perfectly fine. MyGM is a fairly good management mode.
The gameplay direction changes between iterations, some times more arcadey, some times more simulation, but there's nothing broken about it. People are perfectly happy tinkering with sliders and difficulty to make the game more sim-based when the game veers off into more arcadey gameplay.
Microtransactions are what they are, I no longer see a point of caring about it because the market has accepted them.
I don't know of any major issues that PGA Tour 2k21.
Regarding WWE, their last release was absolutely broken, for various reasons that don't need mentioning because it would take too long. Their previous released developed by Yuke's were hardly broken.
So I don't know how 2k is 'notorious' for releasing bad and broken sports titles, as you claim.
Good that you brought that up ,great post btw ,we've been discussing this here (or in the FIFA thread) and the usual guys sums up 2k with "worst casino ever"
And yes on the online side ,true in some parts ,not in other ,and on the offline part ,not true at all.
So here we go.
1 Mycareer (which is FIFAs The journey and you can play with your fully customised player in a nr of online modes)
That's MT (micro trans action) heaven ,you can buy everything with in game currency (VC).
You can play a NBA career earning those VC and spend it on upgrades.
Once you're player is good (80ish and above) you can use him in other modes.
2 The city/neighborhood/Cruise ship is a platform where all online stuff is.
You can buy/gamble/earn VC there.
But you can also play a nr of online modes like The Rec (drop in/squad 5v5)
Park (drop in or squad 3v3/5v5)
Pro Am (FIFA's pro clubs)
Then you have Myteam.
That's 2ks version of UT ,a card game ,I'd say less monetizes than Fifa ,more like Pes version (I've played it got great players early on) and hardly any need for MT.
Then offline.
Which is called myNba nowadays.
Which is by far the best and hardly anything comes close to that when talking about sim gaming ,everything can be adjusted and fixed either by roster/settings download or by its plus 50 sliders (for gameplay only probably 50 more for settings).
There's no game out there that takes sim sports higher and better than 2k.
So that's 2k Basketball ,the worst (with FIFA) when it comes to MT and greedy behaviour ,and the best when it comes to offline gaming.
And most importantly ,something you've all been whining about on Fifa ,there's one gameplay for online ,and exactly what you want for offline.
Do I want 2k doing FIFA in the future?
Nope!
But I do want them to do their own game.
But most importantly ,when posting something about a game etc ,get the whole game described ,not just what suits you.
(Not referring to you mate but the one you answered)
