eFootball (All Platforms)

Trust me, y'all don't want 2K making a soccer game. 2K basketball is some bullshit.

Still, 3 bullshit football games are better than 2 bullshit football games.

(And sorry to say, but until Konami fixes their game, their AI and actually releases ML (which is not even on their roadmap) ... there's currently one football game, not two).

Ignoring twenty years old something dominated by Fifa and Pes, in the even lonelier desert that actually became the landscape of this genre after the suicide of the latter, I'd literally take anything with a single player and a will to represent the sport from any random SH, let alone 2K.

Now compare that to this

Until Konami restore the overall aesthetic of the pre-eFootball era, I will not be playing eFootball 2022. I already uninstalled the demo from my PS5. This video sums up everything.

The pitch and fans are already enough to deter me. I feel like I'd be fooling myself if I was to say this game is enjoyable and looks up to scratch even for PS4 standards. I still feel hurt and totally betrayed.

Even with this delay, I really can't see them coming back from this and this feels like the mid 00's again when PES on PS3 was a total disaster and many fans moved over to FIFA.

For the next year release (I'm probably hoping for too much) but completely overhauled graphics plus reworked net physics with different customisations like deepness, shapes and net tension. They did ask for feedback on this on the survey. If the update doesn't deliver after extra months of development I don't know what I'll do :((

I have very low hopes even after this delay. As many have said, the fact that so many fundamentals weren't even thought about and the dodgy translated interviews show, this is just so that we give the next update another shot. PES 2021 wasn't broken, it just needed updating. They could've used similar assets or designs for things like the pitch or fans, but they didn't. I don't think they care and just want to get those negative looking Steam ratings and comedic articles to be a little more positive to save some face.

Edited the formation, player's positioning and player's role to create midfield resistance and reduce spaces.

Doesn't look as bad as before, never looked a full game, only some minutes and goal compilation from the old and "new" version.
But when the ball makes a rebound, it looks like it's "blocked" by something when it roll, like if it the ball was octagonal or the pitch got some, i don't know, it looks like the pitch is full of grass with spikes.
Or it's just the 1080p issue? It's pretty weird. Also, some animations who looks teleported but well.

I don't think I like the update version.

-Physicallity is gone. There is no body interaction anymore. (That's how Konami fixes the collision glitches)
-Animations look more clunky and less smooth.

Overall the fluidity and smoothness is gone.
Now the game is really crap.

I mean it's ok for everyone to have his own vision and opinions, but what you're saying is that for you the version 0.9.0 of the demo-like experience was better? Pressing L2/LT was a total mess, that alone was breaking and destroying the game entirely (without taking in count the other big problems), triggering that mechanic was feeling like in a rugby match, or like a 1v1, 5meters ball radius skill gap contest on who can rape better with the doggystyle or the piledriver fetish.

In terms of animations of course it's more restricted now because they removed all those broken collisions and they maintained just the subtle ones, so the game feels cleaner and faster and the teamplay feels at least that has some minimal purpose now. That doesn't mean overall it's a better demo-like, if not just a slightly better one. At least that's my opinion on how feels the version 0.9.1 compared to the previous one...

Just by fixing some of the bugs alone the game is a lot tighter and flows so much better now. For goodness sakes imagine if this was the state the game launched in alone, yes far from polished & far from complete but would have fared far better from a reputation standpoint than the self destructive launch we got in actuality.

Of course, transparency from the get go that this was a demo would have saved a greater amount of face but, can't take that back now. Just an ungodly amount of hard work to overturn the humiliating start from here onwards from Konami.

V 0.9.0 was a mess as well as V.0.9.1 is.
But V 0.9.0 had all these things I like and made me see the potential. The physical interaction (even with bugs) the smoothness of animation (even a bit less reactive) and the randomness.

Now V.0.9.1 has swipe off all these good elements (even if they were not perfectly implemented) and now we have just a bag of a trashy, unresponsive game with no randomness and physicality.

AFter the update L2 does nothing, except for making the defender running towards the attacker. But as soon as he reaches, he DOES NOTHING.
Collisions are back to PES 20/21 style, thus non-existent.

Typical Konami way of fixing things.
I wrote it couple of pages ago - physicality and collisions will be gone, animations will be shortened, randomness will be gone.

Its been happening for years now. They never addressed any of the issues properly, just dumbed the game down to cover them.

Even tho I pretty much gave up on it at this stage - it's so fucking infuriating to see that people who stuck with it, and still could see some potential in this mess, are now being robbed of all the good things coz Konami is not able to address the real issues. Year after year after fucking year.
Really angry and sorry to hear this, guys.

I wonder how some people find the game more fluid and better after the update.
The bad thing is we cannot revert to the previous version, because the old exe is not working.

A question.
We will not get any updates till Sping 2022?

Played a couple of games this morning after the update. Found it to be far better in terms of responsiveness on the ball and weight of passing in particular. More than cancelled out by the same old culprits - the wake up period of player switching and the pass receivers ball watching.

Scored a goal that I was so happy with that I captured it. Also [a capture] of Ronaldo levitating as he was scythed to the ground. Sunrise, sunset.

Proof that animations/physics are butchered.
Watch how the ball deflects with no physical interaction.
Most probably before the update there will be some (glitchy perharps) physical contact with the ball.

Did they fix the ice skating yet? Sorry, I remember you saying it wasn't skating it was just player inertia.

When animations are butchered, everything looks like sliding.
Inertia is when a player can not stop immediately when sprinting or can't turn .
Sliding is when feet do not plant on grass and slide/hover.
Yeah I'm well familiar with the difference, despite your condescending suggestion last time that I had just failed to realise.

So, the last PES game will no longer be newly purchasable as of the 9th December this year. Coin sales will also stop then.

I'm honestly surprised they will forgo all lootbox income for a period likely of a few months then.

They haven't decided when servers will close down for PES 2021, but considering the new game currently doesn't support teamplay or loading custom teams into online lobbies, I'm hoping the servers last the full extra year they normally do. Otherwise, online leagues are absolutely fucked.

Still waiting for all leagues, national teams damn it. It's taking too long.

Tbh I'm more curious on when sharp kicks and gameplay will blend in. It's still weird why they don't want to give us officialy the "unlocked version" with more time to spare in "Match Authentic" instead of playing 2.5 min halfs. I guess they want more users to social interact with each other in eFootball's Disney World until spring when Konami will post another .jpg apology picture and Adam will tweet another: "Chill lads coz this demo-like will speak for itself; those leaks aren't true coz you know... The final result was even more impressive than we had originally conceived.... will blow your f***ing mind from the orbit and everything else you desire... But most importantly... 🙏🙏🙏 (coz I'm being nice)"
