Football gaming is dead.
Our only hope is UFL.
Do you know if UFL going to have proper offline modes? The only bits I've read about it say it's going to be online focused. A shame really if that's the case, as would have liked another football game to come through and shake things up.Football gaming is dead.

Every country should do like Belgium and forbid loot boxes being sold for real money. Only when that happens maybe gaming returns to what it once was. And then maybe we have onea GTA game for console generation, and proper football games, that are based on the simulation of the sport and not on casino simulation.
I just can't imagine how anyone would want to spend that kind of money for what's essentially just some different faces. He's clearly happy to do that though, which is his choice. Just doesn't make sense to me. He could probably use that grand he saves on eFootball 22 to get himself scanned into the game.
That's a bit contorted, as a point. The problem for a gambling addict isn't that they haven't realised it's like a lottery, that it's luck-based. Try pointing that out to those huddled over FOBTs next time you pass by them! Sure, children may not have grasped how these things work, but adult gambling addicts know. Just as alcoholics know what alcohol does to them and how they'll feel once the alcohol begins to leave their system.I don't know what the stats are though for people who purchase these "gambling" elements regularly without accepting that what they are paying for is a lottery.
Yes, there should (at least) be limits, if we are happy at all to accept gambling still being in the games (and games with low age ratings too). The season pass style of payment is at least a one-time thing for that "season", yeah. But depending on the pass, it can be scummy in other ways: essentially paywalling lots of content or making it available only through unreasonable amounts of grinding. It bifurcates the playerbase into those who can afford and who can't, and in some games the cosmetic rewards become a means of instilling FOMO and driving further sales (there's a reason the Fortnite-related "Default!" became a genuine playground insult).Perhaps there should be limits on what people can actually spend on these elements or is that how a seasonal battlepass/matchpass works? I don't know the ins and outs, but yep, they need to put limits on what people can spend to protect those who have no control on their spending. It's ridiculous that a kid can get their parents credit card and spend thousands on things like FUT. Sadly, gaming companies will take advantage of things like that which is completely abhorrent. It's not just an eFootball problem, it's much wider than that too.
I'm not sure. Maybe some F2P games advertise/sell battle passes in advance, which you could say is kind similar? It's definitely a massive cheek though, what Konami are doing here.Spot on.
Correct me if I am wrong but this is the first title I've seen take Microtransactions as a Pre-Order bonus (Without the Game, as that is free)? And at a very high price point to go with it.
The game will launch with no microtransactions, so I just don't understand why this bundle is relevant to its release, despite the actual use of microtransactions will come in Mid-November.
Also the fact that the project lead had no idea what manual passing was and thought it was a strange request, on his Twitter Q&A lol. What makes you think UFL is the answer?
From what I've seen, it's F2P also + not available for PC.
Just curious.
I have seen a few of his videos but I never got the same impression of him.Has anyone seen TTB latest video? I don’t subscribe to him but it appeared in my suggestions last night. “why fifa will never be a sim” or something similar. Whilst maybe true - he behaves as if PES is some deep, tactical Football Manager style game, which is laughable.
Got to think about those PES Universe bucks and keep the hype train rolling…
Please do not even download the free edition just to try it and then uninstall 2 hours later, Konami will find a way to add it to their +1 downloads count and twist it how the game is so popular. Completely ignore it download wise and let it die and make sure Konami suffers. They deserve the worst.
Look at the god damn screen on steam, not even 1 kilobyte of shadow, and the grass, these are PES 2010 PS2/PS3 graphics that are now finally available on most mobile phones.

That poor ball boy bringing the ball to the Gk is literally the only new thing. And everything else is 50 times worse than 19/20/21 PES.
And look at that horrible blur trying to hide the hideous grass and color palette.
That doesn't sound very encouraging! Manual passing is essential for me personally. Also the fact that the project lead had no idea what manual passing was and thought it was a strange request, on his Twitter Q&A lol.
Could be lost in translation. But, then, again it's Konami. That doesn't sound very encouraging! Manual passing is essential for me personally.
Do you have a link to the Q&A? Interested to read that. Cheers!

I wonder how are they able to sell these games in arabian and other muslim countries.Every country should do like Belgium and forbid loot boxes being sold for real money. Only when that happens maybe gaming returns to what it once was. And then maybe we have onea GTA game for console generation, and proper football games, that are based on the simulation of the sport and not on casino simulation.
Edit: and his thoughts after a load of people telling him what FUMA is about...
Does anybody else feel like the drop of the pre-order sales pages today is the real reason they pushed back their YouTuber preview embargoes to the 23rd?
If it turns out the impressions are underwhelming, that could impact preorder sales. Better to get them in first.

Just saying it’s the only hope of a decent football game (geared towards genuine football people). F2P and online focus doesn’t necessarily mean bad, it’s just the current example of that model does it very badly.Do you know if UFL going to have proper offline modes? Photo realism
They’ll think they can get away with it because lots of people bought the season update last year for $45. It’s disgusting but I bet my club players will buy it.unreal© !!

Sadly they won’t last long with Jim, Bob and Mathew upfront from Bolton playing against Ronaldo, Messi and Maradona.Just throwing one of the benefits of the F2P model into the discussion... It does allow people who can't afford traditional releases of video games to have access to the game. I've always been fortunate to have the money to buy each PES when it's been released, but not everyone is that fortunate (although some may say that we're actually unfortunate to have the money to have bought certain versions of PES). There must be plenty of kids who have friends that have games they can't afford to play online with, so this model does make it easier to rectify that.
Ah, fair enough! Will be good to see what they come up with on UFL. I'm still waiting for a solid online football game experience, so happy to try something else if they nail it.Just saying it’s the only hope of a decent football game (geared towards genuine football people). F2P and online focus doesn’t necessarily mean bad, it’s just the current example of that model does it very badly.
FIFA will never change and is dead on the most part.
efootball/ PES is officially dead.
Goals is a long long way off.
UFL is the only real hope of a decent football game 🤷🏻♂️
It’s not like people are negative for negative sake and no reason. There’s plenty of red flags that bring light to historical issues. When you start seeing similar patterns in something that brought previous bad results, I think it’s fair to be concerned it’s heading to a similar undesirable outcome.People are negative because it's hard to find any positives. We've barely seen the game let alone played it.
I've seen it too. He is right about Fifa, but not about Efootball. Efootball is no sim, its only more difficult then Fifa is. Although, i always loose when i am playing Fifa and win with PES..Has anyone seen TTB latest video? I’d love a good game of football that’s the same online and off. I think most would and online is bashed because it’s seen as the focus of gameplay creation. Where as a good game can be played online no problem. I’m online a lot for co op and love co op if the games good. Which neither had been for a long time.I'd hope that anyone who is interested in the online mode can say so on here without being made to feel small or ashamed. Everyone's entitled to like what they like and express that opinion without being mocked. Fair enough if you're not interested in the online aspect, but let's be respectful of eachother.
