eFootball (All Platforms)

I'd hope that anyone who is interested in the online mode can say so on here without being made to feel small or ashamed. Everyone's entitled to like what they like and express that opinion without being mocked. Fair enough if you're not interested in the online aspect, but let's be respectful of eachother.
don't take it personally, there are people on here that play myclub. it's just what i've been saying this morning which isn't a new opinion in that people don't know what the game is going to be like, there is an excruciating lack of information on the modes or the gameplay and no footage.

the only thing we have to go on is the NFGCT demo and you're not going to find much excitement for anything based on that

"willing to give it a chance because it's a konami football game" isn't going to be a common opinion on here based on how they have treated the fans, unfortunately

Mate sorry but you are the one replying to everyone & instigating, if you feel small or ashamed I think that's on you.

People will meme & banter, it seems like some people can't deal with this.

EDIT: this is a R.I.P PES thread. Maybe there is a copium thread ?

Not at all mate. If you enjoy it then if anything I’m envious. I would love this game to be good.

But I would suggest to stop getting pissy with us folk who know it’s going to be shit.

I just looked at the steam listing and you couldn't make it up really

■ Modes Available in This Version
Game modes:
・Local match using 9 preselected teams.
・Challenge events, available against AI opponents and human opponents online, using authentic teams.
*Challenge events may not be available in the first few days.

they've even had to asterix one of the only two modes available at launch as possibly not being available at launch ffs :LMAO:

also the £30.99 you spend on your pre-order does not even have any value until the next update in november hahahahah

*Chance Deals and eFootball™ Coins can only be claimed and used after the update scheduled for mid-November of 2021.

"give us 30 quid, we promise to give you something in return in 2 months" - banks pay you interest to hold on to your money ffs

Cell phone games don’t even do this shit.

Don't worry. I don't take any responses personally. I'm just concerned others might as anyone who is willing to give this game a chance appears to get jumped on.

I don't believe I've been "pissy" to anyone. I respect other people's well constructed opinions and voice my own take on what's been said. I personally don't feel the memes offer much to the discussion, but if people want to post them, then fair enough.

Not looking to fall out with anyone on here, just want to enjoy a respectful discussion about a game I've been playing for the past 25 years... and it's switch to eFootball.

Not to mention that those guys can't wait any longer... some of them are very anxious to get their hands and spend those juicy coins....

i actually pretty angry now i've realised what's going on. taking people's money on a promise for something in return at a later date is what druggies do to old ladies. it really is abhorrent

Why don't you create a thread then? What has your contribution to this thread been? Ok you have played for 25 years & you want more ... Good for you, you stated that you will wait & see.. great. Please open a thread about it & stop hijacking this one with the same messages.

The info with lootboxes is wrong. Those are called "surprise mechanics" and are a variety of them included via premium player packs and in... "etc"... :...

When they showed that first Unreal Engine trailer year ago -- my first though was "Is it lootboxes or surprise mechanics" :!

To be honest, even jokes about all of this are not enough to describe what happened.

This is the eFootball thread. I'm not hijacking it at all. I've also paid my respects to PES. There's nothing I'm discussing that isn't on topic, bar the odd reminiscing of SWOS. I think it's fair to say we're all guilty of essentially posting the same messages on this thread, me included. No need to tell me I should take what I want to say elsewhere though just because we have differing opinions.

I'll happily pick out or agree on any negatives with the game, as much as I'll do with the positives. I'm also entitled to challenge any embellishments of the truth posted on here, such as today's "you have to pay $30 for the demo".

If you're suggesting we shouldn't say anything unless there is something new to offer, then we may as well not log back in here for another week (when we may see some new gameplay footage) or two (when they launch eFootball in its initial phase).

Enjoying the discussion in the meantime. Passes some of the time while we wait for the 30th!

It also occurred to me, that there may be even less stadiums than ever before now too. Perhaps apart from our 9 partner clubs, would we be restricted to playing our myclub matches on that damn Konami stadium?
We literally don't know what's in the game, we don't know what's licensed and what isn't. It's absolute madness

I'm pretty sure no one is being forced to spend $30 on it. I find it odd that someone would want to, but I guess there are people prepared to do it. I've sunk over 750 hours into Apex Legends. Plenty of things you can spend money on in that game, some for more than $30. How much have I spent on it? Absolutely nothing!
That's not right – not "no one". Plenty of people have compulsive spending problems, relevant mental health issues, and gambling addictions. Many who fit into these categories, who pick up this game, will end up spending big money on it – often to personal detriment, debt, etc.

That is how the F2P industry thrives. It is inherently predatory and exploitative, and it manages to generate goodwill nonetheless from those who just see it as "hey it's free! and if people want to spend on it then they can choose to", like it's just the wonderful work of the free marketplace allowing us all to express our autonomy.

No, it's scummy. Look at what they're actually doing: 33 quid on a starter pack; match pass (i.e. battle pass) also to come soon after (what, in the region of £10-20 quid?); content that wipes out after a year; and paid gacha elements (which they've leaned into with the naming conventions now: "Chance deal!"), in a game that has a battle pass (pretty rare, pretty scummy).

I don't spend on loot boxes or cosmetics. The only DLC I buy in games is extra story or mission content for single-player titles, if it's worth it. So I'm absolutely not the target market for these sorts of predatory pricing mechanisms, but that doesn't mean all is okay, just because I won't personally be exploited. Others, by bad luck, are not constituted the same way or are in circumstances that incline them to spend, even though they don't really want to. Others still are children. This is a game marketed to children.

So without yet being shown official gameplay, they're already using a FOMO tactic to reel in those who struggle to say no: pay this chunk of money early, and you can get off to a great start! Implication: if you don't buy this, you will struggle in the early stages. It may well be false, but the insidiously implanted idea is that you'll be much better off if you buy. Same with battle pass rewards.

These are the real problems with this business model, and we should absolutely call it out for what it is – not just be content with our own lack of spend if we're fortunate enough not to get exploited.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there would be about 4 at launch. Can't imagine there'd be many more in November. Not basing that on any definitive info though!

It's a big shame they didn't bring back the stadium creator that was on 2013. Wasn't that due to some licensing issue, or am I confusing that with something else?

I'm not interested in MyClub OR offline. The former is just pointless, everybody get super teams instantly, everyone plays exactly the same and the whole thing is toxic.

Offline is boring as hell for me personally, plain and simple, I just can't get excited playing the CPU.

I have enjoyed Online Divisions the last couple of yeas with manual settings because that's the closest I can get to why I fell in love with PES in the first place, playing against friends in your couch at home. People tend to use the lesser teams more then as well. It's nowhere near perfect but quite fun.

So I'm interested in the online part but just not MyClub or whatever the new name will be. I haven't seen anything about Online divisions so it might be gone or *drumroll* comes in a later update though...

Thing is, they're trying to pull a scam like EA and other milkers to get a part of the pie, but overall the lack of experience on how they're pulling it it's just laughable and ridiculous. They were going over the night full milking mode like a boss without even releasing the game, and in top of that all being related to preorder the first of many packs of their face scanned ambassadors... Not even EA will have the balls to do it in such way.... it's just..... lmao :LMAO:

They started counting kids-gambling-money even before they open casino

That's a fair point to bring up and definitely a concern for people who are unable to control their spending. I don't know what the stats are though for people who purchase these "gambling" elements regularly without accepting that what they are paying for is a lottery. Perhaps there should be limits on what people can actually spend on these elements or is that how a seasonal battlepass/matchpass works? I don't know the ins and outs, but yep, they need to put limits on what people can spend to protect those who have no control on their spending. It's ridiculous that a kid can get their parents credit card and spend thousands on things like FUT. Sadly, gaming companies will take advantage of things like that which is completely abhorrent. It's not just an eFootball problem, it's much wider than that too.
