I was similar to you back in 2007, I was 16 years old and looking forward to a next gen PES on the PS3 - the most powerful console in the world at the time. The series was at an all time high on the back of PES6 on the PS2.

I couldn't believe what I saw at Gamescom when everyone was saying the game was garbage, I held on to the belief that it was just old code and it would improve. As we all know it didn't and the game was a load of rhinoceros poo. From then on I never fell into the trap of thinking Konami could live up to my expectations - they will always let you down.

My guess is that they're struggling badly with porting it to the Unreal engine, just like they were with the moves onto new consoles in 2007 and the Fox engine in 2014.

The last one looks indeed like it is PES2022. Because on 21/07/2021 they announce the date for pes2022..

If this is PES2022 they are in deep shit. Its a awfull game. I think PC gamers go back to PES 5/6.
 
Honestly, this whole situation is just a PR mess, I don't even know what to make of it.

On one hand, there are many things indicating that this could be indeed just a server test, since it's how it's being advertised by Konami, and also because there are many elements that make this look like a conversion of mobile PES, instead of a next generation PES2022, like the circle with the arrow around the player with the ball, which kind of reminds me of N64 ISS, so I find it charming in a way, but still, clearly looks like the mobile PES on Unreal. When taking all of these things into consideration, I'd say there's nothing to worry about, they just ported mobile PES to consoles so they could test the servers.

However, we also have the information that the media received, that this is indeed an earlier build of PES2022, they're probably way ahead of this currently, especially graphics wise, but still, if this information that Konami gave the media is true, then the core gameplay is already set, and we have it in our hands right now, of course it could be very different in the final release, but the building stones are already set. Also, there's the survey, if this really is nothing but a disposable mobile conversion by Konami, with the only intent being to test the servers, it makes no sense to ask for our feedback on gameplay related topics, which is what the survey is doing, if they want to know our opinion on the gameplay, and this is indeed and earlier build of PES2022, then this is it, we're playing the core of what the game will be built on and they want to know what we think, to make adjustments in the current built they have in this final stage of development.

I don't know what to think, this is just odd, really odd, and Konami's to blame unfortunately, their PR once again was a huge let down and left many of us not only dissapointed, like many times before, but just confused. I hope they clear things up soon.

PES 2008 ps2 was lastgen.

PES 2008 lastgen was better than nextgen. So KONAMI had did it in the past. :)

Mate, the survey hasn't mentioned anything related to the way the gameplay actually plays, it just asks if you enjoyed playing without any lag.

When you see the YT video i posted a little time back, you can see its the similar. Only different is that in this test you can play it and in the YT video its a manager game.

Judging from the videos I've seen it is obvious that they still can't get away from tedious and outdated Pes 2015 formula.

Weird questions, when it is only a online testing indeed. But i can't find the questions on the site of konami.

So its looks like this is indeed a version of pes2022. What a awfull game, i am glad that pes 6 and pes 5 are still there. Back in the days Konami had a heart for football and gamers...

Besides purpose testing, it says launch, official launch.. So by my little English, i understand it as something it is going to launch, regardless of being something in pre-alpha, alpha, beta, 15%, demo, halfarsed, whatever status..
 
This is too complex for mobile game ... and making mobile game to work on PS4, PS5, Xbox is not easy as you think. This is PES 2022, its just on some low graphic settings, and maybe 2-3 months old version.

They used PES mobile game which is already Unreal Engine and they upgrade it to this. It will become a little better by its release in two months.

That is everything there is.

P.S. level of stupidity from KONAMI to release this before any screenshot or trailer or anything is just beyond me, even if PES 2022 turns out to be good game.

The animation doesn't scream it is based on 360 degree movement at all. As I expected they are making another polished Pes 2015 after Pes 2016-2021.

I don't think this is Konami's fault. I mean if it's 100% clear for me that this is just an alpha game without the actual final graphic and gameplay I don't know why other people still think this will be the final game. :D I mean seriously Unreal Engine 5 is a beast even UE4. That Messi footage is 100% ingame for sure. About the gameplay. I don't care about it that much because I care more about the realism of the BAL and ML.

It's somewhat informed, but he's under the impression that the final game will be very different. My assumption (and this is just personal with no technical know-how or expertise on the field) is that Konami simply wanted to create a unified version of the game that's easily scalable for a variety of different systems, with varying degrees of graphical fidelity. Hence why they went with Unreal, which is an engine that does exactly that. You can have your game on PS4, PS5, PC and mobile devices. The same game. Fortnite is the perfect example, really.

It's certainly cheaper and easier than supporting 2 different games, running on 2 different engines. Which sounded like their original plan just a few months ago? When they said the last-gen versions would continue to work on FOX Engine, but clearly this changed and now the same game runs on everything. Porting things to Unreal was apparently easier than they were expecting or something.

Plus they seem very intent on getting into the mobile market and this is probably a nice avenue for it in their minds. Make the games interchangeable between console and mobile device.

I'd like to be wrong. I hope I am.

Responsiveness can relate to both gameplay and connection. And I can't be questioning my understanding or my English. The only three questions I understood that they refer to gameplay are:
Your teammates' movement in offense or defence.
The depictions of tackles and battles between players
The refereeing of fouls

I'm not denying the similarity to the mobile game. I'm saying that this inference is faulty:
The game looks like the mobile version > This is actually a mobile version and not the base game that will be the sequel to PES 2021

There's no evidence for that inference, and it also just makes no sense. I'm yet to hear why Konami would release an online server test game that is just a port of the mobile game. They already know what their servers are like, what they can handle. They've had PES online for a decade. They've had the mobile one online for a while now too. Again, it would be pointless to test a game that isn't the game they're actually making. And there are so many indicators, both in the game itself and in the material they've released, that this is an early version of the game they're releasing.

So this inference makes more sense:
The game looks like the mobile version > They've used the mobile game as either inspiration or for the building blocks of the new full PES game, especially since they both use the same engine
 
How utterly bizarre this all is!!!

Played one game, a bit underwhelmed to be honest, despite being a beta or alpha, or whatever it is.

Best thing is that you can press X to skip replays rather than reaching for the start/options button.

Typical Konami shite with the stadium announcer, something like "polite reminder to please move your cars from outside the stadium". I mean on what planet are they on? I get things can get lost in translation but surely an English-speaker would feedback that it's utterly tosh!

I think that's pretty far off, mate! The following are all related quite significantly to gameplay, and often just gameplay/user experience (not connection related): 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22

The most fun part is that the 99,9% of the PES community knows the biggest issue with online stability. And this is lag cheating & void cheating. The biggest plague since PES 2011 MLO days.

I find it hyporcitical of them, when they keep ingoring this issue for the last 10+ years, with their easily exploited peer-2-peer system, when every random jack@$$ can nulify a match you are winning and get away with a void no loss cheat, stealing my/our/your time.

So if the purpose is the connection issues, here is my reply, find a solution to "lag cheating".

Now close the beta, scrap the survey and pay me KONAMI, i solved your issues in a post!! :SNACK:

Exactly, something is going to be launched. Which is PES2022 and prior to that they already launched an online beta tester (pay attention to the order)
