eFootball (All Platforms)

Well, let's see what level the other football games of other big companies like SEGA are in 2021.

Must say.. it's pretty close to AI awareness and gameplay mechanics of THE NEW FOOTBALL GAME ONLINE PERFORMANCE TEST AKA EFOOTBALL PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2022 BETA

Yeah I meant double R1 tap. Altho I couldnt figure out how to send my players on a run either.. had to wait until they decided to run themselves.. so yeah, kinda both..

Re the clip - Im not sure this would work on a normal run, when you have a bit of space. The one on the video is more like a Take Off, rather than continuous burst.
He wasnt holding sprint initially and then he "burst" pass the player. But you cant really use it when you are on the run and just want to knock the ball further I dont think..
It might be the sort of thing where you release and then press again. Though that could be pretty jarring. Am gonna have to play around at some point.

I seriously think Konami have, as stated, just wanted to test the background server infrastructure, matchmaking, load balancing etc, so the quickest way to do this is to bung on some low key graphics and animations, ported from what looks to be the mobile game, and hang it off the back of the server infrastructure that PES22 will use.

In no way, shape or form, can this absolute shitfest represent what PES22, a game developed for over 2 years, on the world's most powerful development engine, by a multi-billion dollar games developer, it just cannot.

Either way, Konami's true to history form of absolutely clusterfucking everything has shone through again.

They could have released a teaser trailer (probably what we will get on the 21st July) and said 'network/server testing to follow shortly' then released this 'new football game' thing, with a disclaimer as it loads tat in no way are the graphics, sound or animations, presentation etc representative of the final product, this is used purely to test the stability of the back end networking, that way everyone would have seen a glimpse of what the final game is actually likely to look like, and been made 100% aware that this demo thing is purely a network test.

But No.

They cancel PES21 as a proper game, and release a squad update and just call it PES21, they take over 2 years to develop PES22, on a brand new, much more powerful engine, then they hold back on all info, pull out of the world's biggest Games Conference (E3), then release this 'thing' we have now which looks like Gary, a 45 year old who grew up loving the 'kick off' games, has made it in a free web based games maker program, and leave the entire fan base wondering, speculating, criticising, fearmongering etc.

There is just no way that a team of professional games developers, who specialise in making football games, could take over 2 years to come up with that, i just don't buy it.

That pretty much sums up what the tiny modicum of hope I still have is based on, and come the July unveil, we'll all be blown away.

And if, when July comes and they do unveil the same game but with nicer gfx, well, it won't be such a crushing disappointment now because the experience of playing the beta, which I've had zero interest in playing for the past few days, already has me braced for how bad it could be.

I’ve been playing PES6 on the 360 again and one thing I realised is the pyro looks a bit more realistic than in PES 21, also what’s with the confetti just disappearing upon touching the ground in PES 21? If it makes into PES 22, hopefully they improve on that.

edit: the camp Nou is licensed in PES so I can’t understand why they can’t add this? The grass is also off.7CB21964-23AC-4EA9-B459-AF8D3FEEFC99.jpeg

Played a couple of games this afternoon and I had a trip down memory lane regarding the dark side of what online PES has to offer.

First game I actually won with most impressive scoreline yet, 4-0 however after the fourth, the opponent rather carrying on playing the remaining 15 minutes with any kind of dignity or at least turning his console off to save us all some hassle, decided to turn around from kick-off and started fucking around either standing near his own corner flag or scoring own goals with his keeper just longing the thing out even more. Pathetic.

What's dumber is that I couldn't even quit the match from the pause menu and I'm winning. So if I couldn't then he probably couldn't forfeit either What a farce.

Second match I had some dope who didn't seem to be present with out matchmaking or game at all, constantly letting the clock run all the way down from 120 seconds to 0 in pre match, half time and seemed to pause as many times as he was allowed and took the maximum time limit on those occasions too.

FFS, what for? If it was some sad tactic of deterrence in a hardcore ranked match for precious PES piss I mean PES points I could understand while still resenting the loser but in this test, when there's no rank, stats or nothing carries over? Why are you here? Was he constantly distracted by his phone? Did he need to check TikTok every time the ball went out of play? Did his parents throw him at a wall as a baby?

And this is why people who don't play games, thinks those that do, are all underdeveloped incels with no social skills and no critical thinking, because of looney tunes brained c**** like these making us all look bad.

I had a free 30 minutes to play this earlier and it was ruined. There's no such thing as a quick game of PES as it is due to the loading times and connection exhibitionism. But it's worse when you endure all of that just to have your time or the luxury of at least one fulfilling game completely wasted.

Yikes, Did I go too far?

Player awareness is almost the same like pes21. Players running in every direction unaware of the situation.
Also collision system seems terrible to me. It is like many drunk locusts are playing football, crashing with other, jumping over each other, falling with no reason. Players have no balance. Even a normal pass makes them fall down.

Yo Konami ninjas - if you are hiding in the bushes - listen up!

Make two modes online. MyClub, or whatever you have there and Football Sim. There are entire leagues of people online, who play full manual. Make a separate mode for them, tournaments on FUMA, prices. Singles, doubles, 11v11.

No pal.

that’s my experience of online footy.

Completely dreadful. Nearly everyone quits. They just just quit every time they are losing. What is the point internet that ?

Then there trolls like that. I had one who took it straight from kick off and just tried to hold it in their corner flag all game 😂.

I’m sure some of them are on drugs.

This is why I never ever play online with random people even if the concept seemed appealing... 20 years ago. And these are the people who argue for stupid shit like "skill gAp!" & "no AI defending!". Looks like "New e-soccer e-footballs windows NT pro Firewall test PES 22" is heading down that road and you will soon be having amazingly surreal arguments with those people. I can only wish PES fans who want a footy game good luck. I've had enough on the FIFA side of things, I'd rather throw my PC/console out the window nowadays. 😅

I'm an offline-only PES player, so I haven't yet been able to try the beta/demo/network test.
I have watched some videos, though, admittedly, not a lot (I've grown a bit disheartened with PES after the 2020 demo).
That is all to say that I'm not very confident in my early impressions.

The first thing that jumps out at me is how much dribbling there is, and how much it resembles FIFA in that regard to me.
I don't think I like it too much, to be honest, but I'll remain open-minded.
PES20 Demo also had a lot of dribbling, but it felt "tighter" and slower. And it was more of a tool then, with passing game still being king.

Perhaps, one reason why there's more dribbling is that, as I understand it, it's significantly harder to defend. In particular, it seems like team press is gone.
I'm not sure how I feel about that either. I almost never use team press, but it seems awkward (and very unrealistic) to me that it's no longer an option.
I think I'd have preferred to keep the option, but have referees call fouls more often (again, something that was done in PES 2020 Demo).
Perhaps it's my offline-bias showing, since I don't really have to worry about the AI spamming team press (though I wish they did, it'd make things easier).

Again, I really want to play the proper demo before I have some proper thoughts on the gameplay, but my impression is that the game is a bit faster, favoring dribbling over passing, and with more goals. So, kinda like FIFA. But if I want to play a game kinda like FIFA, I'll just play FIFA.

I think the other reason it's easier to dribble is because not only is there no compacting from defending teams which means there's no midfield to congest the final 3rd and attackers have a ton of space to do as they please but the game also immobilises your defenders momentarily when you switch to them.

They're already running in every direction other than towards the ball carrier as it is which gives the attacking player a head start to do what they like anyway.

For as much as i love that we now have an explicit standing tackle button, it's kind of futile when you end up mashing more buttons including a stubborn super cancel to wrestle control back from the parasites in the games code giving defenders seizures during switching.

If we hard try, we can ignore that the graphics looks like a pencil drawn , but the 3D models are hilarious bad ! Big butts and breast, sharp up shoulders ... reminds me a lot of one of the old FIFA games with Ignite Engine where the players were with the physics of Terminators. Over the years we have always enjoyed realistic and good 3D models in PES, compere with FIFA, but this is in the past too.

I don't understand what's happening with Konami, like new people, new team are working on the game who don't understand PES at all, like they do ... PES remake, but .. bad.

Again, I try to exclude myself and not criticize, waiting for the 21st ... but it's really hard and I don't believe there is a radical difference.

This is why I play online in proper league structures. 1v1 and 11s/10s. In the 1v1 league, we have to be on mic with each other in league games, and we're dealing with each other on the forum all the time too – making deals with our players, writing up friendly results, sharing goal clips, etc.

There's still people on there who I regard as cocks, and they regard me as a cock lol. That's because it's a broad cross-section of society. But for the most part, almost no-one would behave like this. And if they did do so before officially joining the league, they wouldn't be allowed to. And if they started up once inside the league, then with enough people pointing it out, eventually they would be booted.

It just makes such a big difference when you can speak to a person and you're both clearly entering into some implicit good-faith contract. The other big thing is that the league is designed as a haven away from the "win-at-all-costs" mentality of myClub, so obviously PA2/3 is heavily discouraged (though over half the league moved to FUMA eventually), and especially "sweaty" online tactics are frowned upon.

That doesn't mean you don't see a bit of it, and people in their worse moments don't get a bit too competitive, but overall it's just way nicer and more like playing with your mates on the sofa in the good old days. In fact, over time a few of them are basically mates in themselves now, and playing friendlies (non-league games) is just a default way of hanging out.

That's what the online gaming world often needs in general, but certain game modes make everything transactional and hyper competitive. That really gets in the way of social initiatives that trade on good will. In the case of our league, it's maintained by an immense amount of effort from dedicated admins, and there's just a lot of good will towards each other as a result.

I'm not in too many online playing subcultures. I prefer single-player, first-person story/RPGs for the most part. But I expect that some comparable things would be people who play co-op missions/raids on shooter games, or RTS games together, with their own discord. That's the nicer side of online gaming in general, away from the toxic, overly competitive, petulant world of FUT and myClub.

That's some nice screenshots. We can see the potential that this game have, in terms of graphics at least. The problem is that PES always had good graphics. What I was expecting was a true overhaul in terms of gameplay. Brand new animations, ball and collision physics. Something truly next gen and almost out of this world.
I know it's too soon but I'm not expecting something much different than this beta (in terms of gameplay). I'm not angry, I'm too old for this, but I'm not very optimistic.
