eFootball (All Platforms)

Just played a couple of games on the connection test demo. I'd be surprised if the game is drastically different from this on release day, although I hope I'm wrong. I don't think the gameplay or graphics are quite as terrible as what others say on here. The two games I played were actually fun. If they get the new standing tackle sorted, that will be a huge plus over the previous hold down X for pressure tactic. It requires a lot more skill, although there were frustrating moments where I made tackles and the ball just bounced back to the opposition player. Crossing needs sorting as a lot of the time they just get over hit, but maybe less power is needed on this game (I play manual passing). The Pitch is the worst thing graphics wise. It's fuzzy and glitchy, but I'd expect that to be sorted. Player models up close look good though, from a distance they look fuzzy too though. A fair bit of lag with players responding to controller input. I don't want the game to play like ping pong, but I don't like the responsiveness at the moment. Bearing in mind that this is the first game on a new engine I can sort of see some potential in there. I still prefer even this build over FIFA, but hope they do give this a proper next gen visual overhaul and sort the gameplay issues it has. I'm going into this game with low expectations though, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised when the final build is released. It's not terrible in this state, just nowhere near the next gen leap I was hoping for after 2 years of development.

Some elements I quite enjoy. But the crossing and shooting is still awful, no feeling, no variation in either. Just watch the euros and look how many different crossing variations there are.

Take for example Grealish assists vs both Czech & Germany. Similar positions, one stood up to the back post and the other a low perfectly weighted cross for the diving header. This was more apparent in the ps2 days.

Shooting, the most exciting part of football is that feeling of the ball hitting the back of the net and it’s still so mundane.

Shooting and ball trajectory in PES is like if you put some ball in Blender and move it on x,y axis to net.

The player attributes this year as i saw on this "beta" was very downgraded on all players
am i wrong?
or just me to saw it?

These used to be different button combos back in the day. They taken those out as well? R2+O, single press, double and triple.

So who is there now? Just Adam? And he is also supervising all Konami games, he has nothing to do in particular about Pes. So, can we finally say that the feedback from fans to developers idea has been completely cancelled?

Actually, is at least Konami Uk office still there? I feel like Konami is trying to save as much money as possible when it comes to Pes. Excuse me if i'm pessimistic but with this beta, so many people leaving the ship and not a single communication from someone telling us what we should expect i feel Pes is really near the end as we knew it.

The new Pes cycle is transforming Pes on console into a mobile game, this is the worst that could happen and it seems it's exactly what will happen.

Yeah, wasn't all about the thread though. I mean the Eurogamer and IGN articles went live the same day as the game was released; I thought most people had skimmed them to see what it's about.

On the subject of people seeming too sure of themselves – to me, that's how you came across by bringing up "New Football Project" and claiming that others weren't looking into it properly.

But I'm happy for us both to have thought the other was too sure of themselves, and so put it behind us? :) Incidentally, maybe it's a cultural difference, but I'm perfectly fine with a bit of light ridicule and joking about other people, and I expect others to do it to me.

Re the date of the reveal – yeah, hopefully we'll find out something. Though their track record on reveals is itself something that makes me dubious! (Remembering from the past: the reveal which was actually just revealing a date of the real reveal...)

Re the name change – it could be something as simple as finally losing the "PES" from the title. But it could be that they decide to reinvent the wheel and do something new. They are silly enough to do so, I think.

My apologize for the late reaction. I was a bit to harsh in the discussion so i held i "time off" from this forum.

My great thanks for your reaction, and i want this put behind me/us. And we will see when one of ours have it right all the time :D

Most of the time i am fine with a bit of light ridicule and joking. So i don't know why i react like this :D

According to this guy, PES 2022 will be F2P

This would make a lot of sense to me, and connects a few dots at least in my mind.

The transition to unreal is to unify the game across multiple platforms imo to make it f2p with myclub/ esports focus and the ability to switch platforms almost seamlessly with the same account (carry over your myclub team or whatever). Hence why the next gen version is basically an advanced mobile game.

Seemingly a lot of the staff, particularly on the marketing side leaving as well makes sense as you don’t really need to advertise a free game as hard as when people are paying £50 for it. I mean, you literally don’t need to sell it.

The “testing” of the online aspect with the beta in a way that we’ve not seen before is because they couldn’t pull off the f2p myclub/ esports strategy with sub par online performance.

The radio silence so far with the mid July announcement is probably because it’s going to be a shocker.

Essentially, I see it as the end of PES and a new game by the name of EFOOTBALL which is an multi platform f2p game with the same business model as something like Fortnite.

I’m sure I’ve seen in previous press media that they’re still going to have a Master League mode but I wouldn’t be surprised if the single player aspects of the game have to be paid for as add-ons.

KONAMI doing a Pachinko PES for 2023, it seems.

Jokes aside, I really hope PES 2022 is not F2P. That would be a horrible way to end the franchise...

However, if they make a F2P version alongside the mainline game, I'm okay with that.
