From a gameplay standpoint you are right, but... Single player modes are what they are.But it is the last bastion of "serious" football gaming to a lot of us... from a gameplay standpoint at least. That's what Konami represents.
When every other modern football title feels like skating through traffic cones with zero satisfaction in scoring goals, Konami have traditionally who we've turned to in order to find that satisfaction (Konami are why Evo-Web exists).
The people in this thread who still play eFootball say things like "I enjoy the realistic gameplay, I just wish it had a Master League". What do they get? Worse than nothing, they get these arcade add-ons.
Every single football game dev wants to make the same damn game. Nobody wants to make a sim.
So, I can play some friendlies with it and also have some enjoyment, but that's it. No more Master League means that I'll either revert to older titles (for example PES 6, PES 2020 or 2021, or one of the "Football Life" versions, or FIFA 14/16/19) or jump ship and choose FC (a thing that I also tried) each time I want something more engaging than a bunch of friendlies.
FC is far from perfect, but at least has a single player mode worth playing for more than three/four matches.
