eFootball (All Platforms)

Little bit of offtopic, written some time ago

It's just a variation of visual look-a-like soccer
Where are useless even when playing as a foxy Joker!
And your skills means just literally nothing
But rude manipulation powered by script - is king!

I have no words how to describe
That beauty of soccer was replaced by a lie
Instead of wise team work on the field
We see a clowns circus based on the body of PES rebuild!
We have a poet in the house! :TU:

There's a few around here.

"Out to grab your hard earned money
On cards that recycle now and again
The devs think the lack of modes are funny
And only care to license old men

The game itself, it plays not too bad
But it's not a PES game
Which is truly very sad
Every season is basically the same

The final opinion is one that is mixed
It plays well but minus is the lack of modes
But will this game ever get fixed?
Well, just look at the map that showed all the roads..."

A few minutes attempt, but something

Today I played pes 2021 on my ps5 and oh my god, how much better it looks than efootball. And I made a mistake too, I enjoyed fc25 on simulation settings and all the details which are obviously missing from pes 2021 but the flow and gameplay in general, players moving and all football stuff were much better in pes. Now I am looking for option file with 24-25 transfers.

My biggest pet peeve is how week the goalkeepers are to slow low shots. I constantly score with them because the goalkeepers misjudge them every time.

Amazing this was exactly what was lacking in efootball
Considering that I don't consider anymore eFootball a viable choice for "serious" football gaming...
And being a Captain Tsubasa fan myself...
I think that I'll give this a try.
After all, what could happen? If I liked it, I'd keep playing it as a less serious game (much like New Star GP when it comes to racing), if I didn't like it, I'd uninstall it and call it a day.

But it is the last bastion of "serious" football gaming to a lot of us... from a gameplay standpoint at least. That's what Konami represents.

When every other modern football title feels like skating through traffic cones with zero satisfaction in scoring goals, Konami have traditionally who we've turned to in order to find that satisfaction (Konami are why Evo-Web exists).

The people in this thread who still play eFootball say things like "I enjoy the realistic gameplay, I just wish it had a Master League". What do they get? Worse than nothing, they get these arcade add-ons.

Every single football game dev wants to make the same damn game. Nobody wants to make a sim.

Totally agree. Back in the days of Pes3 to Pes6 I honestly looked ahead to a time that is now and thought we'd have games like a fully fledged Football Manager game with the matches like PES used to be with the option to play out the games yourself or watch/manage the game, whichever you chose. And where are we? With this pile of crap.
