eFootball (All Platforms)

The current eFootball simply needs an ML so as folk will dive into it more with purpose.

It's...alright to play the odd game, but without content of substance I am not going to get hooked in enough, thus what I don't like rises to the surface. Offer an actual mode I can dive into, I will play more and see more; will truly see what the game has to offer me...or doesn't. Important thing is though they need a mode that can hook in a single player.

I personally think that v. Legend AI the game (just the football) is superb. Not perfect, and yeah, even the out on the pitch stuff is lacking a fair bit, but I do think they are close to at least capturing some PS2 era vibes, which I accept might not be the most ambitious of developments.

You should never apologized for having an opinion, any game can be criticized whether its old or new.
That's because some people may feel insulted (the post before for ex.) that's all.

And those "20 years" arguments isn't that valid to me, when all cames to South America and i repeat : it's the "people game".

Being that, probably the one who gets more people nostalgia as even people who didn't carried about football played too.
The one that everyone can play and win as everything is easy for all, even noobs can do superb actions.

About objectivity it's only that football logic isn't respected more than in Efootball at all, physically etc. and in terms of possibility to create / what i call objective as it's measurable, there's much much more things you can do on EF than PES6 and the overall logic whatever if it's in sport or on physics is by far more respected. Just with that...
I repeat PES 6 is people game. On PC there's gameplay mods it's not the vanilla game you have on your hard drive.
Not really a game focused for big PES fans since the start, like PES 5 who get by far less attention.

We didn't liked it in 2006 as a fanbase forums, i still don't like the PS2 / PC vanilla version now. And even more since i discovered tons of others iterations like the JLeague version and PES-WE-JL 2008 also replayed some older good version on PS2 like WE7 or WE8LE.

I think it is subjective which version of PES you prefer. Personally I love PES 21, it's the closest to my ideal football game.
On the other hand what is objective is that eFootball sucks ass.

It's 2025 and nothing has changed except the header on their steam page.

Neymar hasn't been relevant since the '18 World Cup in Russia. Messi I get. Suarez, ehh...

Do not complain now we have the new Game mode strike arena which there are 3 v 3 and will fight to score most number of goals. Each day efootball is closer to a fantasy card football game than a proper realistic football game

Oh special shots we had in the classic Wold Cup for the Game Boy. Oh fire effects were very cool in Pokemon. Oh, Captain Tsubasa (or Kickers) we saw on linear TV in the 90s and that you get rewarded for losing to stay in the game fits today's crying generation.

That's a game for today's kids.

They killed PES for this crap. From "The pitch is ours" to Fortnite football...

I like it, they try something new. ML & BAL has been stagnant for years, heck even when they announced ML Remastered in 2020 it was just OK & not something revolutionary. To me the main problem with all these new modes (ex; the tsubasa challenge & strike arena) is for online

Well, criticize me if you want but this Strike Arena is fun to play, when you find people who understand its mechanics. Unfortunately it isn't here to stay, as it will disappear when campaign is over.

I redownloaded this in desperate need of a football fix and playing the vanilla game before it was fully installed was night and day. The players had weight, it was incredibly smooth and i'm sure the graphics were better. even looking back at my old clips, everything seems smoother and more deliberate, is it just me?

I bet you shitloads of money that fortnite football is something they have said in their board meetings as they huff their farts. I can't believe these delusional fools sacrificed such a promising game engine to bring us the messi card simulator.
A new cool name was just found - eMCSBall - eMessiCardSimulatorBall. :))

Ohh lord, are you sure with this 2 divorces? I thought he got married a couple of months ago? Maybe in August or September?
Third marriage maybe? In Italy there's a saying that goes like "there's no 2 without 3" (meaning that if a thing happens twice, it's probably going to happen again).

Unless someone tells me Complete Onside Soccer is better than PES3. If anyone anywhere said that to me I'd expect them to apologise and serve time in a facility of some kind. 😂
I didn't even know that this game existed, go figure.

It can't be much worse than FIFA 97 can it?

(unrelated note: I stumbled upon your little FK vids on Threads... Definitely some class in there!)

After the recent EA FC gameplay update disaster, I re-downloaded efootball for a game or two last weekend and stumbled across this Strike Arena mode. I thought I'd give it a go, but I still haven't recovered from the epileptic seizure.

Oh it is! FIFA 97 which was up until last week what I considered to be EA's worst ever game...

Free kick ones? Yeah I'm sort of milking them! The compilation is my best performing video on YT BY FAR so I'm breaking that up into chunks and posting again. 😄

I don’t read this thread often so I thought I would read up a bit about eFootball to see if anything has changed or been improved and to give myself a little break from the retro PES thread. And for the last couple of pages it’s been all about retro PES

Is anyone actually enjoying efootball (2025) in its current state with most recent update?
For me it's still the best football sim in terms of gameplay. For me it plays so well (responsive, AI, on the ball controls) and feels so good (dribbling passing and shooting), and its ultra smooth (playing at 120hz on my 135" projector - obviously the steam version) with animations looks natural and better than any football game to date. Yeah turf and lighting could be improved to look more next gen, but animation wise, its pretty damn good.

I had a break from all forms of PES (pes2021 and efootball) for the last month, as I have been hooked on 'Art of Rally' (brilliant isometric/top view rally game) recently. So I just got back to efootball a few days ago, and its as good, if not better than the version i last remembered playing. Not sure if its placebo, but what ive noticed most is the extra variety with shots.... seem a heap more variations including low/ground shots performed by me P1, and by Cpu. I play on legend (sometimes superstar), in exhibition mode with 12min games, and full manual controls. Also, noticed the cpu AI seems to attack with greater variety than I last remembered, including certain players dribbling more and actually taking one or more of my players on. This was, and is still one of my major gripes with pes2021. One other major improvement I noticed, are the headers... With the right striker up front and in a good position, they now feel so much more powerful and dangerous when a decent whipped cross comes in. Keepers seem easier to beat with a well aimed (and timed) header on goal.

Anyways, I couldn't care less about even trying the new modes, just exhibition, so I was wondering who was actually enjoying the game atm?

I agree with some parts of this. Responsive and smooth.
But ultra responsiveness, lack of inertia and weird ball physics kill the mood.
Players stop instantly after fast sprint with no sense of inertia in order to be the game ultra responsive.

The example: look how neymar stops sprinting at 1:54

Dribbling is also responsive but is ridiculous how players move.
Ball feels weird how it bounces, accelerates etc. It's like gravity is off.

About graphics, it's unacceptable that at night matches the ball has only a single one shadow exaclty below it (like nintento era),
Screenshot_26.png

lighting in day matches is atrocious, look at the blurry player shadows, they look like they are floating. This is like PSP graphics quality. also goalpost shadow is ridiculus as well as grass texture.Screenshot_24.png

These "minor" things made me quit efootball. 2025, a game that is very resource hungry, and we get all these.
It's just a responsive smooth game with decent AI. Unfortunately it feels a lot like a "game".

For me, the game with Dream Team Teams PVP is by far the biggest crap I've ever seen... The mechanics are completely broken, players simply run away from the running passes, and there is no AI for your own players. It's just a fast-paced automated game on Rails, with no skill gap!

  • changing sides from one side to the other with a high ball is not possible because the opponents run faster than the ball flies in the air...
  • There is no midfield, 2-3 passes are often enough from box to box...
  • Shot variations are like they were 15 years ago, it's actually not possible to score a goal from a distance that goes over the goalkeeper...
  • Losing the ball and the player freezes for half a second...
  • clearly Fouls are not given...
These are just some Points that are ridiculous because they have been in the game for a looog time, konami didn't Care!

Efootball is the Fortnite of Football Games, the aspect of Simulation is completely gone!

The Only Way the game is decent, is with authentic Teams and full manual controls, than there is some kind of freedom on the pitch, and can be enjoyable.

What is there to enjoy?
It is worse than PES21 in every single aspect. Worse graphics, worse gameplay, worse performance, only offline, no edit mode, no leagues and cups, no ML.
If PES never existed and we got only this, I could understand. But this is a demastered PES in football gacha sauce.
