good vide this
Yeah it's not bad, but I'm a bit unsure who the target of his argument is there really. From what I've observed, there's mainly just two types of response to the beta:
  1. Oh, this is so basic, it must be a mobile port; it's there purely for the purposes of "testing the servers"; and bears no relation to the final product.
  2. Oh, this is so basic, it's probably a really early build; it will be improved graphically in many respects, but we probably have some idea of the gameplay vision on the basis of this build.
There then seems to be a third response which gets irate at anyone saying number 2, in the process strawmanning them for suggesting this game is a complete representation of the final product of PES 2022. Maybe there are a few voices in the wild who are utterly convinced that the beta is a good representation of the final product? But haven't really seen them here myself, or on YouTube comments sections and the like.

So yeah, if you heard it in the TTB video, at some point he clearly says it's the next PES game. But I can well imagine the "iT'S JuSt a mObIlE GaMe oNlInE PeRfOrMaNcE TeSt" crew will take it as further agreement with their position, because he's talking about how basic and unlike the final product the beta is.
Was that dude here?
Is that the Daniel guy from last year?
I guess Tom showed you already, but yeah different guy. If by Daniel you mean "free as a bird" Daniel.

It is a little concerning / depressing how little it feels like it's been built 'from the ground up'. Perhaps they are using old stuff as a UI for the sake of this test, if the idea of it being a very cobbled-together testbed are accurate - but otherwise, it really does look just like any other PES iteration. This whole fresh start concept - I know it's Konami, so... KonamiLogic - but surely they'd have worked on that aspect? Perhaps they will yet. Signs aren't hugely promising, either way.

Yes sir.
Found him on Twitter, seems a bit "hyped up..."
Block him,no need to have idiot's on your YT/Twitter,people with different opinions, fine, tinfoil guys, block!

Actually it will be the new Version of PES Lite which somehow everybody didnt remember here.
Ah, gotcha! (Got a source btw?)

So: instead of doing what they've done for the past 4 iterations of the game (PES 2018 - 2021), the LITE game will no longer be the extracted myClub and exhibition mode, and instead be a completely new game that isn't related to the mainline PES entries. What a great idea! That way, instead of giving almost zero extra development budget to the LITE version, they can now stretch themselves even more thin with lots of extra work.

I grant you that Konami are conceivably stupid enough to do this, but no, it's not very plausible.

Thing is, unless it becomes like really insufferable and abusive, I admit I do find it a bit funny and enjoy seeing it. A little bit. It's a guilty pleasure, I suppose. Like when he commented on my clipped goal video with "3 views in 4 days? Mate just quit youtube, twat" – that made me spit out my tea laughing

Anyway, nuff said on that! I'm sorry for derailing the thread enough as it is.

Back to PES!

I think many here are putting two and two together and coming up with 4, when it might actually be the wrong answer. For example, this picture of a footstep on the Moon made many people reason that it had to be fake moon soil because there is no wet sand on the Moon to make an imprint like that. When the fact is, there is no dry sand on the Moon either, there is no sand there at all, it is a completely different material.
So when you say "This has to be PES 2022 because they had a survey about gameplay and they called it an appetizer" the correct answer might just be that Konami are using some weird drugs and trying some things.

Lygaard shoe update!!

Yeah I don't know because I didn't spot him here myself. But just thought it was funny you guys were also dealing with him. Incidentally, also has a few screws loose – after my aside earlier where I referenced him as a "mug", he's since...

...suffice it to say, I'm shaking in my boots. (And the answer is yes to this question.)

Sorry for O/T guys! Just thought it was funny that a plonker slagging off EvoWeb on Reddit is monitoring the forum, sees me take the piss a bit, and then launches into this social media frenzy!

Anyway, sounds like banning was a wise idea...

Looking forward to PES 2022 "revolutionizing" football games!
What is your youtube channel's name mate?

They said it.

Konami themselves.

If things are being improved that means there needs to be something to improve upon. And this beta is the something, so that's the base.

I don't understand how this is difficult to understand for so many?
I hope the article misinterpreted words from KONAMI.
If that´s the base, then you gotta be prepared for a big let down...at least I will be.
I didn´t install this test version and I don´t intend to do so.
Just watched the True Brits video and when he said, they removed double sprint R1, second team mate pressing and right stick player selection, this gave me the chills.

I really hope, this is just a damn test version and has nothing in common with the real pes 2022 game.
Let´s wait...

Okay, but it might help you make less of an arse out yourself if you did read what other people had written first, before launching into them. I understand there's loads of posts and it's hard to catch up. Perhaps all the more reason not to imply people are idiots for thinking this Konami-released new football game might have a lot to do with the next PES.

Where to start with all this? So passive aggressive. Others have already adequately responded to you on the technical matters, and better than I could, so I won't go there again.

Re your "new football project" point – it proves nothing. So Konami used a placeholder name for new IP in the past. What does that show or imply about this placeholder name? Really, at bottom, nothing.

Re your last point about TTB – yes, I made the same point earlier in this thread. I think the reason behind "new football game" as a a title for the online performance test is because there's an imminent branding change coming (it's been coming a long while), and so this vague name need not be further "evidence" that the game isn't anything to do with the sequel to PES 2021. You can't have it both ways, incidentally. Either the name is different because it's a placeholder for something which isn't the next main game, whatever it's called (the point you've been driving up till now) or it's different because they're rebranding the sequel to the current PES game.

The first i understand. But this thread is so big, i do have my work. So i can't keep up with the thread..

Second: I was not passive agressive. Mabye its because English is not my native language.
I only respond to people who are to sure about themself and their opinion. You, and some other guys laugh at people with other opinions. Thats what bother my..

I think we only know for sure July 21. When we can see the state PES 2022 is for real.

Thirdly: They hace changed the name PES 202 into Efootball PES 2021. So already a change in name, i don't get it. Maybe they didn't think the name was good enough

I'm not caught up on everyone's takes on it, but I've just watched a match from this PES 2022 footage and it looks like the exact same game again. Same clunky animations and movements, same slow turning, same ball physics, same awful crowd sounds, same UI, same everything.

Built from the ground up my arse. They must have taken a year out to just chill, because they certainly haven't built a "new" game. Football games are just dead at this point.

Anyone think that July 21st “ big announcement “ will actually only be the new name?

I'd say there's an outside possibility that they'll announce that PES22 is the first game in history to have been developed by monkeys.

I think I'll take the optimistic mindset for now, that the wording on their beta website about how the whole game "will be improved before the official launch" has simply been misleading and misunderstood - and what they actually meant by that is that the full game is actually a completely separate product that is much better than this old mobile version they've made available for testing netcode.

This is just stupid.

I know the guy is here & hope he read this. You may dissagree or having different opinion with anyone but stalking other people like this just because a fookin game is really really stupid. It's understandable if the guy is actually 9 yo, but if it's a grown man doing something like this, he really need a help.

I’ve been playing Fifa 17 again, and one thing I liked about the presentation was the home team wearing the HomeKit while the away team will wear their HomeKit, it’s great and iirc PES 14 had something similar so hopefully we see that in PES 2022

When they said "rebuilt from the ground up", I thought they might have been stretching that phrase to the limit and it seems to have been the case.

You could disassemble a LEGO set or IKEA wardrobe, put it back together and then proudly state you "rebuilt it from scratch" and be technically correct, even though you used all of the same pieces.

Seems Konami basically did that with this "New Football Game" - same assets, animations and probably most of the gameplay (and likely game modes) code put back together in a new engine, probably just for some new gimmicky visual effects it can offer.

What is your youtube channel's name mate?
It's just "JanguvPES", but I'm not a YouTuber or anything. Play in a 1v1 and 11v11 FUMA league, and occasionally I'll upload a goal or highlights, but nothing particularly worth subbing for! (Or something from a drunk night of PES with mates.) That's what made the comment of this guy so funny to me, as if I had these failing ambitions to become a YouTuber

Yeah, wasn't all about the thread though. I mean the Eurogamer and IGN articles went live the same day as the game was released; I thought most people had skimmed them to see what it's about.

On the subject of people seeming too sure of themselves – to me, that's how you came across by bringing up "New Football Project" and claiming that others weren't looking into it properly.

But I'm happy for us both to have thought the other was too sure of themselves, and so put it behind us? :) Incidentally, maybe it's a cultural difference, but I'm perfectly fine with a bit of light ridicule and joking about other people, and I expect others to do it to me.

Re the date of the reveal – yeah, hopefully we'll find out something. Though their track record on reveals is itself something that makes me dubious! (Remembering from the past: the reveal which was actually just revealing a date of the real reveal...)

Re the name change – it could be something as simple as finally losing the "PES" from the title. But it could be that they decide to reinvent the wheel and do something new. They are silly enough to do so, I think.
Anyone think that July 21st “ big announcement “ will actually only be the new name?
I think that's a good shout, sadly! Hopefully not.

I'm wondering how much of the new game will have used not just assets/UI from the mobile game but stock animations they've built up over the recent years. I only dabbled with the PES mobile game a couple times, but you could see how it shared a common design philosophy with the console games in terms of things like animations.

Personally I'm sceptical that they'll have "ported" things like this over. I'm not really savvy enough with game development to know how feasible it really would be to do that; from what I've heard, it strikes me as unlikely. But I do think they'll have used the PES games they have already made as inspiration for the redesign – indeed, to a point where it's not quite right to describe it as "from the ground up".
