eFootball (All Platforms)

I decided to spend a little more time on the new update since I only play against the A.I. and have never played online in eFootball. I stick to A.I. events and challenges on Legend difficulty, and unfortunately, I see more problems than positive changes.

On the positive side, the players and 3D models do look better with improved textures, but the field itself and the night lighting still leave something to be desired.

I do like the dribbling changes to some extent. Players with better dribbling abilities now have small and quick touches of the ball, making them more useful.

The first-time shots are a bit more powerful than before, though there may be variations in strength that I'm not entirely sure about.

Now onto the issues. Since I'm playing against Legend A.I., I can see the gameplay manipulations used against me, and this might be the worst version of the game in that regard.

I can't remember the last time I had so many " Rage Quite" as I had now because the situations are ridiculous now just that A.I. has advantages.

I have noticed a phenomenon in my games that I personally refer to as "Time Out." This occurs when my players fall into a state of inactivity for a brief period of 1-2-3 seconds, during which I cannot move them. This usually happens after they have been tackled, lost the ball, or had a pass or shot blocked. It can also occur if my player has been pushed and is now out of control. During this "Time Out" period even " super cancel " is not helping, the player is vulnerable to the AI's attacks, and in version 2.5.0, this has become a significant problem.

On the other hand, the AI-controlled players do not experience a similar "Time Out feature", as they recover their positions and break animations instantly. Even if you successfully tackle the ball from them, your defender will still be in the tackling animation while the AI player has already recovered from any "wobble" animation after being pushed and is already attacking you to regain possession of the ball. This occurs frequently and gives the AI players an unfair advantage.

The AI players are able to change animations and directions effortlessly, while your own players feel sluggish in comparison. Lately, my players have been falling into "Time Out" more often than ever and giving the AI an unfair advantage. This issue has been present in eFootball for some time, but it has become much more pronounced in this update.

In addition, passing has become problematic. I have noticed that my players pass to the wrong teammate far more frequently than before, despite selecting the correct player. The passes seem to be designed in such a way that they are easy for the AI to intercept.

Another issue is that the players without the ball, whom you do not control, often make inadequate decisions and positions that work to the disadvantage of your team, frequently benefiting the opposing side.

There is also a problem with tackling. Sometimes, my players do not react to the ball and allow the opponent to dribble around them, or when I double press X, the defender animations are slower or in the wrong direction.

All of these issues seem to come from a significant manipulation of the gameplay in this update, which has led to unfair advantages and disadvantages for either side. I suspect that Konami is also implementing similar manipulations in the online mode, which has made the game very unpleasant for me to play.

I'm just here on my bimonthly check,
I can see game is still shit and there is no ML yet.

I'll come back later, cheers y'all
Ha, exactly the same for me popping in 🤣

That said, I am genuinely beyond this game and franchise now. I have literally no expectations or hope that this will ever be anything good ever again, and I actually feel like I don't care about that fact now. I "grieved" PES from the moment of NFG coming out and then the first eFootball trailer, and it ended long ago.

Now it's more just an amusing thing to check out, like driving past an old house, workplace, or school and having a quick gander, thinking "ooh, wonder what they've done with the place now".

I actually think my life has improved a fair bit since I stopped giving the slightest shit about greedy, incompetent Konami and their barren cashcow of a game.

If they someday introduce a ML would be because of microtransactions inside and only that breaks the experience

Looks like they are actually adding new features to ML I thought they were just going to copy and paste the same mode since 2015. The biggest fix should be on player development and youth players
It should be a no brainer for them to utilise MetaHuman to create realistic looking regens, however, this is Konami and my expectations are rock bottom.

I'm not sure about microtransactions, but it's possible that they will integrate ML into Dream Team's point and coin system.
I think whit new update they may have added a new "Strips" section to the shop where you can purchase exclusive kits, emblems, and other items for Dream Team and ML."

Same here... I'm visiting this thread every few months to enjoy my popcorn coz' my expectations were already depleted two years ago, if you remember those "debates" here (so much to those twists and turns from those eFootball enlighted believers ). At least the bright and positive aspect in my case was that Konami motivated me somehow one year ago to do some deep due diligence about searching & finding the most essential PES 3-6 patches between 1930-2023 created by this great modding EvoWeb community, plus all those Championship Manager 01/02 game patched seasons between 1998-2023 from another great forum. Now I have all the content needed to enjoy retro football videogaming ("sandbox tools" that sincerely aged very well to be enhanced & diversified), and I'm sure that I don't care about Konami as a company anymore. If they'll get bankrupt somehow tomorrow for me will be a normal day that will not affect me in the slightest. I'll even celebrate their downfall. I was supporting them for so long from their first ISS games, but when common sense about their "DNA" after so many years goes straightly wrong like in a bad reviewed thriller, enough is enough...

They're not touching UE 5 until 2025 the devs are genuinely learning on the job

Not sure if this type of comment that Im about tô make is very welcome here, but this is the Best representation of football in many years.

This is my experience playing Quick online match with the default myclub team.

Defence line no longer run backwards giving free space making everything so easy. The AI knowz how to occupy spaces, teams collectively behave like you would expect from a real team in real Life. Every part of the pitch can become tight due to how knowlegdable is the AI occupying spaces without me feeling like I need to get away with the ball, your players smartly surrender the man on the ball and the fight for the ball possessos can get more intense but in a realistic way. You can have some great deflectiions, interceptions in the midfield and most of the time the ball and players behave accordently.

The movement on the ball is light years ahead of anything I experienced in pes Fox engine and the manual passing us Just beautiful, só much variety.

Seriously, the game is Just beautiful to my eyes. Just changed to Bayern to play in Bayerm stadium and jersy, wich is even more pleasin to the eye.

Game is beautiful!

It’s missing so much. No fluid formation, no master league. It’s beyond a joke how long it’s taking. Back to Pes for me until offline mode is available. Dream team can get to fuck.

I’m missing fluid formation so much.
Praying that they bring it back when master league eventually comes out 🙏🏼
With the individual instructions you can tactically change 4 players, indicating what they do when they attack or when they defend. It's not as interesting as fluid formation but it works very well.

For example:

They will sell kits in the points shop, like the efootball kits. I think they should add more classical kits, like the ones they added in PES 2014, and maybe some kits from previous versions, like Barcelona 14-15 and 16-17 and Milan 20-21 for example.1496224_10151836038234327_1444909308_o.jpg906872_10151836038219327_1228933259_o.jpg

Edit: seems like they had even more classic kits:

Hi, do you happen to know what are the camera settings in the video?

I've just started playing again, (mostly Ligue 1 kick-off matches, on full manual) and, while it still feels like a demo, I find myself drawn to the game, and I think it has huge potential.

There are some things I really like, especially compared to FIFA:
- AI
- Player differentiation
- Graphics: while there's still a lot of work to be done, the style is towards photorealism. For example, the pitch has texture, and the textures are diverse from stadium to stadium. The lighting is also diverse, so playing in a different stadium looks like playing in a different stadium. In FIFA, the kid with the crayons didn't do a very good job of coloring the turf, and all the textures and lighting are flat and uniform.

There are some things that are simply bad, annoying, or need improvement:
- Ball physics: it's better, but it still feels floaty.
- Foot planting and general animation fluidity: still clunky, especially when turning with the ball, the players tend to just shift themselves into the new position.
- This might sound weird, but the players have no metatarsal joint in the foot. This looks very very weird and ruins the immersiveness, especially when watched from up-close: look at the cutscene with the players coming out of the tunnel at halftime, it is especially noticeable.
- I find the whole penalty system a personal attack on my eyes - I'd prefer not to have a penalty to having to see that camera angle and animations again.
- The nets: texture (even though the hexagonal ones look ok) and movement.
- Camera auto-tilt after scoring a goal. Why does it exist and how can I get rid of it, please?

@ezosk

Is there a thread or discordserver for manual player's?

I want to play with full manual settings on PC against others.
I was check a some discord eFootball servers and asked about it.
No one wants to play on manual control.
There, the result is more important than the gameplay.
