I decided to spend a little more time on the new update since I only play against the A.I. and have never played online in eFootball. I stick to A.I. events and challenges on Legend difficulty, and unfortunately, I see more problems than positive changes.
On the positive side, the players and 3D models do look better with improved textures, but the field itself and the night lighting still leave something to be desired.
I do like the dribbling changes to some extent. Players with better dribbling abilities now have small and quick touches of the ball, making them more useful.
The first-time shots are a bit more powerful than before, though there may be variations in strength that I'm not entirely sure about.
Now onto the issues. Since I'm playing against Legend A.I., I can see the gameplay manipulations used against me, and this might be the worst version of the game in that regard.
I can't remember the last time I had so many " Rage Quite" as I had now because the situations are ridiculous now just that A.I. has advantages.
I have noticed a phenomenon in my games that I personally refer to as "Time Out." This occurs when my players fall into a state of inactivity for a brief period of 1-2-3 seconds, during which I cannot move them. This usually happens after they have been tackled, lost the ball, or had a pass or shot blocked. It can also occur if my player has been pushed and is now out of control. During this "Time Out" period even " super cancel " is not helping, the player is vulnerable to the AI's attacks, and in version 2.5.0, this has become a significant problem.
On the other hand, the AI-controlled players do not experience a similar "Time Out feature", as they recover their positions and break animations instantly. Even if you successfully tackle the ball from them, your defender will still be in the tackling animation while the AI player has already recovered from any "wobble" animation after being pushed and is already attacking you to regain possession of the ball. This occurs frequently and gives the AI players an unfair advantage.
The AI players are able to change animations and directions effortlessly, while your own players feel sluggish in comparison. Lately, my players have been falling into "Time Out" more often than ever and giving the AI an unfair advantage. This issue has been present in eFootball for some time, but it has become much more pronounced in this update.
In addition, passing has become problematic. I have noticed that my players pass to the wrong teammate far more frequently than before, despite selecting the correct player. The passes seem to be designed in such a way that they are easy for the AI to intercept.
Another issue is that the players without the ball, whom you do not control, often make inadequate decisions and positions that work to the disadvantage of your team, frequently benefiting the opposing side.
There is also a problem with tackling. Sometimes, my players do not react to the ball and allow the opponent to dribble around them, or when I double press X, the defender animations are slower or in the wrong direction.
All of these issues seem to come from a significant manipulation of the gameplay in this update, which has led to unfair advantages and disadvantages for either side. I suspect that Konami is also implementing similar manipulations in the online mode, which has made the game very unpleasant for me to play.
