eFootball (All Platforms)

For me personally, I don't play with human players (unless a friend) otherwise I play %99 of time as vs CPU. So,
No matter how many teams they add everything looks, feels and plays boring. No capability to adjust match time, no open difficulty settings, no training or challenges, no weather effects, no ball selection, either 1pm match condition or 10pm, no modes no incentive to do anything. Limited everything just because they have to stick to their "plan" and we as players should stick to it too? I agree gameplay felt nice in v1.0 and was something fresh but almost a year and change later? Seriously?
I feel no motivation to update let alone play it.

Only Online 😐

・ Balls (only for online Events)
・ Field-side advertising boards (only for online Events)
・ Stadium staff vests (only for online Events)
See...this here annoys me. Assets in the game, but instead of adding them to perhaps appease the offline fans, they don't bother. It's trial mode ffs. You think people wouldn't touch online modes if you add it, Konami? They're more likely to play online as they might check after playing offline games

They don't want anybody to play offline at all. Offline players know what shitfest online playing is (or has become). Konami doesn't want anybody to experience a pleasant offline experience, the one and only right to exist for eFootball is to gain the maximum of money with the minimum of effort.

offline modes probably won't be until efootball 2024 or until beginning of the new year.
They could change direction and decline offline modes. Is not worth It for them, they do not want a football Game where you can play real football efootball is an online casino based on cards just like yu gi ho

And it's making them money so why would they stop?

The market is dictating this. Lots of people who don't have consoles or mid-high end pcs are spending money on coins every single day playing this game. Coinami are catering to them and it's working. Another issue is you have is there are plenty of content creators on yt and twitch that are enjoying this game, despite the lack of content, which is an endorsement of the current situation. Unlike in 2021, the general reception to Efootball today is somewhat decent. I'm not judging people for liking this game, but it is what it is. If this game was getting tons of poor reception on social media, perhaps thing might change a bit, but who knows.

There are also plenty of other factors that drove Coinami's into this situation. You have to look at Coinami's own internal issues going as far back to Kojima and other devs leaving the company. Their level of gaming incompetence is also a factor. Then you have look at how they started under funding parts their gaming department to focus more on quick and easy cash grabs like an F2P Efootball game because of how bloated MGS5 was, it failed to generate the amount of of sales that they thought it would.

Another thing to consider is how the market had changed. It's forcing devs to prioritize online modes with microtransactions over offline standalone modes.

And don't forget the esports scene which has drastically changed the sports gaming genre. That ties into the F2p, monetization aspect of Efootball, and games like UFL and Goals are all going to emulate Efootball and FUT.

Sad because this is not football for me

If they are gonna do that then I wish they would just come out and say it.
Then at least I will know I’m stuck with Fifa for my football fix.

Missing these kind of videos, at least they usually to show how they work on the Game nowadays is all silence

Ye. Pesfooty made a good post regarding the marketing for this game.

Right now its clear all the focus is all on the new crowd of noobs who only play online, quick arcade fast football and 2.4.0. is reflecting this, they are young, easily pleased with shiny new players and coins and best source of income from the company perspective. They want their instant gratification, Konami make they money from it and its all they have focused on recently.

Their obscuring of anything else outside of dream team shows the lack of investment and resources given to a actual proper game.

I do struggle to understand why we cant play longer than 10 min STILL after 18 months! This franchise is lucky to have a community like this they way we have been treated.

I think we cannot accept that this efootball thing has be made "at least for now" to be a mobile and online focus game...

I had try to play efootball 23 but this dream team thing it's just not my thing i just can't and I love pes and FIFA and never played more than 1-2 months Ultimate team etc because it gets boring it gets pay to win and it's just annoying how people can play all days to get the best players and coins and more coins...

Konami forgot about the offline community and they don't care... They think they will make more money focusing in this market and they are wrong.... We will prove them that....

I usually watch some streamers on efootball and its a shame, they score and they even do not watch the replay, they just want to go for another goal and another and another and beauty of football itself IS not important, is all about beating your rival by most goal possible with the BEST players mixing classic and current players all in the same team and nothing else thats efootball online cards competitive casino Game and thats for It was created just thinking on money and copy fut model from FIFA and nothing else. About Gameplay they just need a normal one to maintenance all this ecosistem thats why they put BEST efforts on fixing It in just 7 months after one of the worst releases of a Game of all gaming industry which only showed the lack of investment into the Game itself. Konami is not looking for a real football anymore if they wanted to have a simulation Game which I think they always wanted to recreate on pes "the pitch is ours" but now is all about " the money is ours" and nothing else and they are gaining a lot of money doing this way so why they would spend money on improving the Game in all aspects, for them this is not necessary at all they have all they wanted from the start, dream team is the golden chicken and all around the Game is just cosmetics

Estadio AKRON was added with the recent update from what i can see, that's about it of the "new" besides a few more licences players/teams.

I love it when devs share stuff like this. This was at the time Coinami had the capabilities to make good football games. Not anymore.

We don't even have weather lol. Sometimes weather plays a significant role in football matches, and it's not even part of the game. Adding 20 new variations of Haaland to the store is much more important to Coinami and the player base lol. It's low effort.

Well, it's working for them now. Whether it's sustainable, time will tell, but I think they have enough people who will want to buy more coins for players and keep this business model going.

There are big YouTube channels within the Efootball community like 9al where all they do is open packs, and play matches using players from those packs. Then you got Coinami hosting their own esports matches on their respective channels to entice more people to buy more coins for card packs.

From a business perspective, I don't think Coinami are worried about this drying up. It's happening with Madden, NBA 2k as well. That's why those franchises are becoming a shell of their former selves. It's sad, but that's what the market wants.

Sorry for interrupting, but i feel that the only focus now, is money from gatcha/lootboxes/microtransactions.

Easy money, with the lowest cost at everything, production, content, promotion budgets.

I feel that even the esports direction, has been toned down in favour of pure money from in house lootboxes mechanics.

Do you remember the 2019-2020 era. Full of E-Sports promotion content, The Project Eleven, the PES League, the eFootball League, the Matchday, or were prelude to a new scene of a League of Legends like set up.

Even in their social media, it was everywhere, that PES Leagues with real life eSports teams, still remember those 3vs3 woth the guys of Arsenal, Monaco and CSKA Moscow pro-players.

They were everywhere and everyday in their social media, for a period.

I am sure the COVID pandemic and regional lock downs, put a hiatus on that project, but even now that the rest video games are restoring to the preCOVID era, with remote events, or physical presence events.

But from KONAMIs, eFootball Production team, there is nothing so intense, as it used to be.

Even those events in the Japanese YT channel, you must search deep in the algorithm, only to spot them in first place.

So i believe that esports "Crème de la crème" project, is now also archived.

The focus is for a mobile+cross-platform engaging gatcha game, with mobile focus as the priority.

It wasn't until a few months ago when I started researching and reading articles about Coinami's own internal issues and business decisions from the bosses that I came to the conclusion that this game will never be the game that we wanted, and we were lead to believe from looking at those high def trailers in 2019/2020.

Yes, I remember all those esports events they were pushing at the time, and still, I kept a relatively positive outlook thinking it's whatever. In 2020 and 2021, I saw more troubling signs, but thought they will going to eventually make a separate game for mobile and another one for consoles/pc. That was until I heard they were making Efootball 22 F2P, as well as making it mostly an online thing with no difference between the platforms, and those were big glaring red flags. As soon as I saw that, I shat myself. This franchise was about to become a cheap imitation of it's former self. Then September 2021 came, and they released that garbage after all the bullshit their PR people feed us. The final result was bullshit, and they knew it. I think you're right though. I think they've always wanted to pursue the esports/f2p business model because of how cheap and easy it is.

Offline modes can come out tomorrow, and I wouldn't care because I know it's not going to be good. In order to make offline modes any good, you would need to hire more devs, and upgrade whatever tools you have in this current era of gaming, and I just don't see them spending all that money doing that. It's been months and months and they still can't even get this damn f2p game to look any good, or play as good.

I would love to be proven wrong because then I can see that Coinami are seriously committed to this franchise and making an effort into producing the best quality for the Efootball franchise and for the community who made this franchise what it is. I want a proper alternative to EA sports or whatever the fuck . Plus, all of our worries would be assuaged. I would gladly come here and say, "wow, they got it right. I was wrong".

the quality of the game will rise until it comes offline (ML) because it will be interestingly paid.. but now play the F2P online "beta(mobile)" version and buy coins. 😂

If you love that gameplay, you'll enjoy Fifa 23. Looks very similar to that.

I'd to knock game speed to -1, as it was too quick for my liking
I like the a.i and player's positioning. Those are the reasons for me to play (once in a while). As for the ball physic, its way too floaty. On -1 game speed its like balloon. Even pes2014 had better ball physic.

If someone could mod the ball physic to be better i would be happy.

What camera angle are people using to get a good view of the pitch?

I was using blimp for a while and the view was perfect but I just couldn’t get to grips with tackling.

Using dynamic wide custom just now (0 zoom 10 height) and tackles are much better but it’s just a bit too zoomed in for me.

I messed around with stadium but couldn’t find an optimal view.
My camera setting.

Check out this video if you want to understand why there are no more quality football games on the market. FIFA, PES/Efootball and Football Manager are all mentioned in the video. In the video, the narrator says Coinami have settled for "second best". I don't know about that ATM. They were second best from 2008 to the late 2010s, and had the potential to do more, but no fucking way are they close to that right now. I don't know how you can qualify this game as second best in any capacity with how this game looks and plays. Share this video with your mates. It's a decent video that discusses the downward trajectory in the quality of football games.

I have actually been thinking about this topic. And yes it is a decline for old school football gaming fans.

But I don't know if you heard the news about Pique's Kings League. 15 Million views on Twitch and 90000 in Camp Nou for the final four. And basically what he does is a version of quicker, fast paced football as kids know it from todays games. He even added Cards that teams can use that for example can grant you an immediate penalty. And of course each team has one famous Star Player like Kun Aguero or Ronaldinho (basically the legend like in most MyTeams)

So apparently seeing this number, there is a generation liking something totally different about football than we do. I feel old now.

So is there no room for us any more? Serious question. Some of us have said this for years - we aren't where the most money is, so we buy something that isn't made for us because there's no alternative for us (well, eFootball is at least free).

It just feels a little like McDonald's have perfected a burger and as a result, steaks have been deleted from the planet, and there's nothing to be done about it.

Personally I still think there is room for both the old school feel and the modern one.

I just found this interesting when I heard about the King's League because I didn't expect those viewership numbers.
