eFootball (All Platforms)

One thing I've picked up over the years in the PES threads is that saying a game has big potential is just a nicer way of saying it's shit. After all it's only logical that the worse a game is, the bigger its potential. 😅

Needless to say previous games, 21, 20, 19, etc, also had "huge potential".

Every time I see the phrase "it's not perfect but", I feel a bit sick, because I think of all the horrors and controller-destroying frustrations this one little line is excusing and overlooking.

(I've said it myself, lots of times, usually about the other game - because it's impossible to pretend you can't see the ice-skating rocket-boosted players - and yet, pretend we often do.)

Am I wrong for thinking that, in 2022, it should be pretty fucking close to perfect? They've been working on the series for 20+ years.

(Yes, we all have different tastes and you can't please everyone, but I defy anyone to find the game "mindblowing".)

Offline vs AI is a decent game now imo.

I've just come back from not looking at this game in a while. I've been one of efootballs biggest critics, I've slated it here many times but I installed the latest updates and I find the gameplay has improved a lot, its not perfect by any means but offline play is now enjoyable imo.

If they release offline leagues modes with all the teams, match balls and ability to extent half times then I would buy it. Hopefully they keep up the improvements.

Has there been word on when offline league modes will arrive?
Offline is great, I believe they said something about winter when offline league modes will be available. I am not quite sure why they pushed it that late. We all know they're focused on online and all but all the teams are there already so why not throw offline players a bone.

It's pathetic watching efootball fans trade jabs with Fifa fans on twitter over the new Fifa 23 trailer. The discussion is around which game is or will be better as if means anything today. The two franchises have fallen from grace. Fifa 23 is not even out yet to fully compare the efootball and I have serious doubts that either game will blow the football gaming landscape away. EA and Coinami are content with doing the bare minimum with their games.

Just because Fifa has gotten formulaic over the years doesn't mean people should be able singing the praises of efootball 2022 in it's current state.

It's like comparing your small 4 inch dick to other another man's 2 inch. Neither one are hitting that gspot.

But its not my job to differentiate, if something is shady i report the match. Konami has to decide.
I mean, I understand that you're pissed off about that goal, but what is the poor KONAMI customer support guy supposed to do with that report? They can't ban anyone for the game fucking up. It obviously doesn't have anything to do with cheating.

It's like founding 19-20(less)-21 good is like you're off and dumb and don't know jack about football games... Saying that it's a bad game when practically every social media account place it far ahead Fifa 19-20-21 (i've read the opposite here : liking FIFA 20 and hating PES 2021, to me it's a football game vision blasphemy IMO)

You can't like the feeling, but saying bullshit without argument or vids for proof...
TheKnight wouldn't have done a so big review with tons of variety regarding a so so bad game. There's tons of stuffs and possibility on it.
And don't play with mods instead of vanilla official patch (for example 1.02 with a mod instead of 1.04 vanilla). The balance is pretty great and AI isn't that dumb except if you play Top Player on manual.

And yes, to me if it's the same persons who made PES 19 to 21, then there's hope for good improvement... As they said the new engine is very malleable.
What's wrong thinking that?

I agree about what Chris said about "the game has potential". Fifa 17 got potential for the sequel : nothing happened.
So it's just a sentence to say "there's hope to have a very good game / but where not already there"
To me Efootball is an average demo, kinda limited, offline. Didn't tried online. The thing is there's more place for adding stuffs and resolve some issues, and if you don't see that game as a beta-demo in the current state...

There's a lot of stuffs to add to make it complete in terms of variety, now adding doesn't means improving, and re-balancing the game.
So wait and see. Well, better not wait and play others games or olders games you like. But don't think there will be a new football game that will save our asses before yearsss, or not. The concurrent direction is established, and there's not even a rumor in the radar about a big company creating a big football game.

Same here. Just played it offline after the update and it’s way better for me. With the FIFA titles still gravitating towards heavy shitness and FIFA 23 being the last in the series before the change to EA FC or whatever it’s called, I think Konami could take advantage of the change of product identity by EA to have a decent footy game to rival it for audience. It already plays better than FIFA 22, it just lacks depth, especially in offline modes, but at least with these now decently regular updates it looks like they’re finally putting work into the game.

Personally can't wait for Fifa 23. I tried so hard to remain loyal to Konami's football game, but they win in pushing me away to EA due to be so damn useless. Never have I felt such anger for a game in such a long time as eFootball online. Also, Fifa seems to be adding women's club teams. As someone who likes womens football, this is a big progression

It's pathetic that adult efootball fans and Fifa fans actually exist, assuming they're over the age of 15. If they're 15, it's ok I guess.

Games were good 20 or 10 or X years ago, but that's not relevant today & no one cares. Imagine doing EAs & Konamis' marketing on the internet for their shit games for free (getting free coins still doesn't count). Fandom is maybe a bit of harmless cringe in general, but if we're talking tribalistic brand loyalty as seen with these games... that's way waaaay more childish.

I agree. One of the few perks of getting older is the ability to stop caring about shit like brand loyalty. When buying video games becomes buying vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers you realise it's over to them to earn your time and money and you owe these companies fuck all.

Even if FIFA plays as shit as every year, at least it's a complete game, with modes, finished graphic and content.

It's not even possible to play against friend's online in eFo... Ridiculous 🙄
You can not compare both games because they are light years away , Fifa is a finished product and the other one... just a pre demo

Unironically best thing to happen is that Fifa (the organization) is trying to create their own game and are hiring right now. A true competitor for EA games.

No idea how big that is. This is why the metric system is better. The numbers at least are bigger, so use CM (that's centimetres, not central midfielders) to impress the ladies.

Oh, I posted that in the wrong thread.

edit: and on another topic, as I’m just watching this P.T. related video… it gives a bit of insight to Konami.
Kojima, mobile games, fox engine, CEO’s, revenue…. nothing we haven’t talked about, but still interesting to see the connections.
you can start watching from 5:55min! “Understanding Konami”
so now I’ve watched it all. My Conclusion: Coinami jumped the ship way earlier. and in the grand scheme, the more puzzle parts we get, it all is understandable! I didn’t say tolerable!

Yes they would have it perfected by now, but their intention is to make cash not a simulation. Simulation would please all of us but they think it will make less money so they don’t do it and never will. Sooner everyone accepts this horrible truth, the sooner you can give up hope and go back to a good PES game from the past.

Fifa 23 on PC will be next gen. I didn't believe it at first until I read about it online. That will definitely pique the curiosity of some PC owners who've been begging EA to release the next gen Fifa on PC who would have otherwise ignored this year's release.

It would be interesting to see what Coinami will do or won't do when Fifa launches this fall. I will guarantee you this, if by October, efootball still looks and plays the same, no modes, just the same ol shit since April, they will lose a lot of ground. I mean, this game has been out since October 2021, and we don't even have any news on what they are planning to do with this game this coming fall. The game isn't even stable enough to warrant any modes.

Fifa 23 will be the shiny new toy for everyone to play with. All they need is a capable gameplay to go with this year's release and women's football which will be very interesting to see. Why didn't Coinami do something like this for PES 18, 19, or 20?

I think Fifa 23 will play better than Fifa 22. They'll probably be some noticable improvements on the gameplay side of things. It will be the last Fifa game from EA so they will probably go all out, but I maintain that I don't expect the game to be anything more than an slight upgrade from '22 like how PES 21 was an upgrade from PES 20.

I will also be one year this October since efootball was released, and we all know what a shitstorm that was.

eFootball is so bad, this thread is kept alive with small cock jokes more than anything else right now. I will take this opportunity to link Curb Your Enthusiasm:

Credit goes to everyone keeping this thread alive despite how awful this game this.
