I think these things you're talking about already feature in this New Football Game build, to some extent. It does make sense though. What if you could administer *how much* dash you're giving by pressing R2/RT just slightly or smashing it?
I mean, think at how throttle is made (usually RT, too) in racing games. Something like that.
I'd love to see...
In addition, triggers on the PS5 controller have some particular feedback that can make them harder to press when a player is tired.
- Left stick slightly moved from the centre: walking.
- Left stick halfway between the centre and the outer side: jogging.
- Left stick fully moved to the outer side: running.
- Pressing RT in that situation will add a certain amout of "dash" (while depleting stamina accordingly) according to how much the button is pressed.
Just sayin'... If they got the change right, it could almost be a game changer.
They've not used haptic feedback, but the R2 sprint works as described (and as they explain on their page): press more for greater speed.
Also with the left stick – e.g., pull back and move to the sides gently and you get close control mechanics (formerly mapped to the right stick, and before that to R2); push it more sharply and you move with the ball.
Likewise, sudden R2 pressure (press in sharply and release) when moving with the ball now does a knock-on dash.
