eFootball (All Platforms)

It does make sense though. What if you could administer *how much* dash you're giving by pressing R2/RT just slightly or smashing it?
I mean, think at how throttle is made (usually RT, too) in racing games. Something like that.
I'd love to see...
  • Left stick slightly moved from the centre: walking.
  • Left stick halfway between the centre and the outer side: jogging.
  • Left stick fully moved to the outer side: running.
  • Pressing RT in that situation will add a certain amout of "dash" (while depleting stamina accordingly) according to how much the button is pressed.
In addition, triggers on the PS5 controller have some particular feedback that can make them harder to press when a player is tired.
Just sayin'... If they got the change right, it could almost be a game changer.
I think these things you're talking about already feature in this New Football Game build, to some extent.

They've not used haptic feedback, but the R2 sprint works as described (and as they explain on their page): press more for greater speed.

Also with the left stick – e.g., pull back and move to the sides gently and you get close control mechanics (formerly mapped to the right stick, and before that to R2); push it more sharply and you move with the ball.

Likewise, sudden R2 pressure (press in sharply and release) when moving with the ball now does a knock-on dash.

They are not though?

There's a handful of questions related to online. Immersion? Replays? Highlights? Players' faces? Atmosphere? Ball trajectory and motion? Refereeing? They even have tactics questions. How are these related to online?
But in true Konami style, this is all so bloody bizarre! Imagine asking us about whether we're satisfied with tactical settings in this build – the tactical changes are inaccessible to us!

It's almost as though they've got a template survey used for prior games/demos/betas, and they've literally copied and pasted it for this survey...

I play FUMA on PES since 2017 and I find PA1 laser guided but in this demo is much more error prone.
are we talking about the new setting, "3", or the default setting, "1"? This new default is the old PA3. The old PA1 is now 3. (And manual is 4).

I've only played FUMA on this new build, and I have to say it feels more assisted than I would like it to be (i.e. free as a pigeon)

Ok just saw it on youtube, what i noticed so far during gameplay

- Moving cameraman
- New stadium announcer
- New penalty system like mobile game
- Foul system is a bit silly, someone just get a penalty by just touching player's knee.
- Yoooo there's ball boys on PES 🤣, I just saw it the keeper asking for new ball from ball boys haha
- Madlad they bring back pre-match jacket training, atleast during formation cutscene
- Stadium announcer just wishing a happy birthday to someone, lol 🎂
+ Saw another video, I noticed new crowd model, some new characters were added.

- PA1 finally playable. They nailed PA1.
Do you mean the default setting, or the third setting? The default is now the most assisted option (the old PA3) and accordingly the least error prone. I'm surprised if the third setting (the old PA1) is that much freer. I've even found FUMA to be a little assisted, frankly.
- No running button when attacking.
It's R2, no? Maybe I miss what you're meaning.
- Better menus.
Hmm.. Big "but" here. The bulk of the menu and UX layout is that of a mobile game and it looks and feels horrendous. The gameplan is the only bit that looks to have had some love.
- Great player faces.
Think the jury is out on that one too!

That sounds feasible enough for Konami, but this nonsense of this is just a server stress test when Konami themselves have said that:
a) this is an outdated build that has been improved and will continue to be improved (which means that this is the game, otherwise what are they stress testing if the supposed actual game is vastly different?)
b) they are asking about technical and gameplay pertaining aspects of the game that have nothing to do with online testing.

Why would Konami ask people if they're happy with the new intro sequence for matches if this isn't the game they're working with? Why ask if players are happy with player interactions and collisions? What is the point in that? They're asking for feedback on something that they won't use? I mean, they would because they're Konami, but this is also the game you will be playing this year. Granted the final version will be far more polished, have prettier graphics, but it won't be vastly different from a gameplay perspective.

I'm happy to be proven wrong next month though, but let's be realistic here.

also, not being able to play this on PC is shame from KONAMI ... we also pay their salaries, and they threat PC players like second class gamers.

Ive just played this demo on ps5 and wow this bad, I mean really fucking bad and I just got word of the demo when I was playing 2021 version on my pc. This terrible!!! It looks like a ps3 game and plays like a ps2 game of fifa!!

Please tell me this demo is a joke?

No one mentioned the player models?
To me, it's promising, no skinny arms anymore. But I don't think it's even close to 100% complete, more to added.
I think shoulders from the side view, calves contour; and the back of the neck-to-head needs fixing

I do wonder how most people here havent had a heart attack or a brain anuerysm after letting ConArmy disappoint them time and time again.

You truly are brave souls to lay yourselves at their feet so willingly :BSCARF:
What other choices do we have? Fifa? Ha no chance. That game is pure filth

Everyone crying about sprint with RT. It's a great thing. Vary pace to beat defenders. Some people will need to get used to it. But I think it's a great idea. Whoever removed super cancel, please meet me at 12 am at an abandoned warehouse. I have cookies.🙂
I must be the only one that always used RT as sprint?!?!? Even on the ps2 days. Feels more natural

Oh and the sprint boost is either gone, or so nerfed that basically non-existent.
I kept double and tripple tapping sprint and all I was getting was another circle at my players feet. Had no idea what was that, but my player certainly wasnt any faster..🤷‍♂️

A lot of it has to do with the mobile version. The fact that the game comes with a circle with arrows under your player by default is just further proof of that.

What do you mean? that the game is a port of the Mobile game, and the PES2022 will be totally different? i want to think that, but i have my doubts, i think they will use this BETA as the base of the Game.

by the way!!! I love Pablo Aimar!!!!!!

They are not though?

Well then there for sure will be elements of this in the final product, since it IS a very early build , early build does not mean final product will be 100% different, there will always be elements carried over from one build to another, but elements from one build to another will surely decrease or increase depending on the developers.

Yes, that shocks me... 90% of the question are about gameplay, graphics and animations.. WTF Konami :D is this Beta has nothing to do with all this elements, ONLINE TEST ONLY ? ... So... THIS will be the game overall ...

Also excuse me for any misunderstanding since I'm really not as long into PES or any of Konami's shenanigans , this is the first year I'm with Konami and ignoring any fifa related news lol

The base has been built on mobile for the past few years, yes. The origins of the next-gen version of PES is the mobile version. That's where they began working with Unreal.

The way the camera works, the way the UI is very simplified, the fact there's a circle and arrow under your player, which is only useful for mobile players, aren't mistakes.

Obviously the mobile version and console/PC versions will have very different targets for graphical quality and such, but the base is the same.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the big PR things for the new PES 2022 is how you can use it like say a Nintendo Switch. Take your console save with you on the go and play on your phone. Something like that.

If they hobbled together some amplified version of the mobile version just for the sake of testing their online environment, why would they use language such as "to gauge its current quality." Does that mean quality in regards to connectivity or the "product" in its entirety? The fact that they're conducting a survey that pertains to seemingly every aspect of the experience on offer clearly indicates the latter.

The survey has the user rate qualities such as:
- Satisfaction and enjoyment of the attack and defensive mechanics
- The feeling of excitement when scoring
- Your teammates' movement in offense or defense

Why would they require gameplay related information if this was a "one-off" build destined for irrelevancy for the sake of testing online stability? Doesn't check out. This notion that Konami have some super-amazing-next-gen version of PES 2022 in their back-pocket and all of this is completely irrelevant doesn't seem likely in my opinion.

Glad to see Konami went from 80% transparency to 0%.

All the possible customers are confused about what the hell even is this. They are like asking for backlash.

Sorry, but even i read what this is. This is a test for online gaming. They even said "don't bother on the models, it is not for real"...

People can't read anymore this time. Thats the problem, not Konami.
They even don't call it PES.

It's still underpinned by the momentum script. Terrible AI awareness. Single pass from defence to attack is successful over and over. Stats virtually meaningless. Delays in responding to you button press, then unable to cancel. It just doesn't flow. Tactically it's nothing like football.

Usually at this time of the year Im fuming that they are only publishing online demos and no option to play against AI.
It just shows that they are primarily focused on user Vs user gameplay and AI is an afterthought. Thats why we have lost all AI individuality and thats why for months after release they are trying to tweak AI behaviours. But tweaking is not enough if CORE AI mechanics are dull, repetitive and illogical.
Yup, I think this is why the online vs offline experience on PES 2021 are so vastly different. These problems exist offline due to poor AI but online it's like accentuated fivefold.

But the reason is because these football games are designed to get players experiencing action in every match to make it feel like they accomplished something, to get them hooked to encourage them to stay longer and spend money to become even more powerful.

It's not just football games that's online gaming culture now which is slowly making offline gaming culture redundant as the new generation of gamers grows up with this an accepts this as the standard gaming experience.

So, Until someone switches off the internet for good, we're stuck with this procedure for good.

I think you might be in for a shock over the coming weeks & months.

Lot of people wrote about what is wrong with the approach they took there. If you like to read so much then i wont repeat myself if you allow me. 🤪

But if you just look at twitter 50% claims the king is back and what a good base is this for a next gen game( l.o.l. as the youth says), the other 50% is confused why would they want us to test their next gen or current gen mobile game on the PES2022 servers. Doesnt matter if people read the disclaimer which came with DLC 7 or within this New Football Game Online, the fact is that its not clear at all for the people what the hell even they are playing because Konami just bad at PR.
