eFootball (All Platforms)

How the fuck u score from a pen? Really? The opponent always know the direction...

ANOTHER PENALTY SAVED. ALL 4 tonight. WHAT THE FUCK

And im not using the circle really.
The key is to not even know yourself which direction your penalty is going in.

If you don't know, your opponent can't read your mind.

Done. It seems you cant get relegated from Div1 but you can improve your rank only here .
see you there!
What PA are you using? I'm on PA3 and just can't win 22 points for div1 playing against PA1 and game handicaping me.
its luck mate just try and get the 17 points to stay in until you get a nice run of games, its frustrating as it seems when you need 1 more win all the div1 spammers appear

+1 To be honest i spent like 6-7 rounds in division 3 plus got relegated twice and bounced back right away. In Div2 this was my 3rd attempt and yes although i had good run of games to get 19 pts for the first two times as well the third one was a really lucky. Matches were still hard tho especially against people who dont have legends and know how to play smart. Kick off spammers and Viera pressers are predictable by now.

Imon PA2, i started on PA3 because of the occasional freedom where you can pass the ball into the empty space if you wish....but due to that the target locking is so bad many times in tight situation a straight pass to my players went way off. I think its buggy.

Sad times when even Evowebbers are using Level 2 :(

It used to be either FUMA or PA1 (i.e. Level 3), or else get in the bin.

Interesting that the target locking bug affects Level 3. Maybe confirms my theory more that the target lock is designed for high assist players firstly. By the time you play FUMA it's fucked. Still got to D4 with it but now only play offline occasionally if I can be arsed to play it at all.

Even Level 2 has me scratching my head why the pass went to that specific opponent but its very rare. But you know of course when someon is way offside it picks that player out of the two. Why not i guess. Level 3 had me raging i could not do it anymore, its rather Level 4 then but i cant be on alert to see if im on full manual or assisted in a specific moment out of the blue because the target locking is ass.

Eurogamer: Konami just had its most profitable year ever

There's not much from eFootball in there - when the first version (pre-v1) launched, I think I'm right in saying that microtransactions were available for a short period before they were disabled due to the ferocious feedback.

There'll be plenty from the PES Mobile game though, I'm sure - though it seems to pale in comparison to the money they're making through "Yu-Gi-Oh!", pachinko games etc...

This just shows Konami are better off (from a financial standpoint) out of the traditional console release industry. We won't get another game like PES ever again (a fully-featured football game designed to be anything other than a money-spinner from the ground up).

They are better short-term, but long term when others come to that market ---- it will be the end.

They had secure buyers for PES fans every year, they now throw that out of window going into more risky online-gambling-audience.

There isn't any incentive to focus on the offline game or authentic team presentation anymore. I find it surprising they still spend money on licenses and club ambassadors as I doubt they even really need those endorsements.

Even 4 years ago at the time of The World Cup 2018, I couldn't have fathomed that PES & FIFA will no longer exist both in name and traditional format by the time of the next World Cup.

If they are still getting and fighting for licenses if for to get more customers from those countrys and opening the brand efootball in the market to other countrys. Is just a marketing issue not for a master league or to give offline content

I don't think EA will go Free2Play. There is no reason for it if you compare it to efootball which didn't have much choice. PES sales numbers were significantly lower so they needed to take a step to get some Fifa Players interested in their game.

But Fifa is each year dominating sales numbers in nearly allcountries and often topping the charts in many countries. Unless efootball being free takes a big chunk of these sales away from Fifa I don't think that there is any reason for EA to offer the game for free.

And with two world cups coming up and them also probably featuring the women's leagues now which are gaining in popularity I think FIFA's sales numbers will be stable.

Have you not seen their financial figures?

They've just announced FIFA 22 made $267m in game sales (physical and digital) compared to ~$1.5bn in microtransactions after the fact.

If you get rid of the customer's cost of entry (i.e. having to pay for the game, and it's prohibitively expensive until 8 months after its release)... Suddenly your potential audience is even bigger. A hell of a lot of people will pay for card packs etc. when they've got the game for free, because they're not having to pay for anything else.

I would bet they would more than make up the missing $267m from the volume of people who would join their ecosystem and put $10 in. Let alone the percentage of those who will find themselves putting $100 in before they know it, because the game is designed to get you addicted if you're in any way succeptible.

Producing an online-only F2P game with one focus (FUT) would mean a lot of costs removed, too (publishing costs, even staff costs - they could fire everyone who makes all the offline modes, because why wouldn't you, when those modes make a fraction of what FUT makes).

I'd bet money on EA FC being F2P... and here's something else. FIFA 22 has just gone cross-platform. I bet it'll be cross-platform, too. Just like eFootball, and with the same drawbacks. We are witnessing the end of an era.

Hopefully, offline modes will be paid DLC or something, just like eFootball's Master League will be, and that the DLC will need paying for yearly (in order to keep its development moving, so we're not stuck with the same features for eternity). But even then, the danger is that it's just a dreadful game, designed for FUT, and nobody buys any offline DLC. At which point, it dies forever, and offline players like me have to play FIFA 16 for the rest of our lives.

I still don't believe Fifa will go Free2play. Seeing that they hire in so many different parts of the game, also I remember an interview where they once mentioned that the player base for career mode is still pretty high.

Adding to that: they recently have changed their approach a bit see Star Wars Squadrons and so on. So I have a feeling they might keep Fifa a paid game also as a differentiator to all the other Free Games like UFL and efootball.

Can even be used for Marketing: you get the full Football experience with all game modes for one price.

Cross play also doesn't include mobile. (And probably won't since it is different engines and Fifa actually once had a flop on Mobile where they used a strong graphics engine and it limited their mobile player base). And in general Crossplay isn't a bad thing. My guess is they keep Fifa Mobile as its own thing and present EAFC as the only premium game on the market.

But we will see.

EA wants to dictate the changes to the franchise, without having one company regulating it's features.

The dream would be separate games with bigger teams to make a fully fleshed-out, functional single-player football game in the style of the games you mention. But I can't see it, because A) there is proveably a bigger audience for single-player "epic" experiences (e.g. Star Wars) than there is for single-player "sports" experiences...

...and B) splitting gameplay development in two would be an expensive and complicated exercise, all for the sake of a small bit of sales income (in comparison to what they get through FUT). Losing that income would mean nothing. But I hope I'm wrong.

(Plus, if they did make a separate single-player game, I imagine it would be The Journey - horribly scripted and horribly acted, with seemingly no comprehension of what football fans, i.e. not FUT fans, would love to see.)

Next year you will notice how FIFA was chaining EA :))
Probably not at all.

In which way do you think Fifa influenced EA and regulated them.

Just give me some examples where you think they did?

Not going Free2Play? They have the Fifa name on their Free2Play Mobile version.

About Microtransactions? FUT has been a topic regarding Microtransactions and Loot boxes and how much did Fifa care?

All Fifa probably cared about is how much money they got for having the name on the box.

And that's all it actually was. EA didn't even release a world cup game anymore. If Fifa had such a big influence shouldn't they have demanded a world cup game for even more sales?

For me it will be more interesting if they spend the resources on more licensing deals and leagues.

A bit of research brings up a few interesting examples from articles created this week, that seem to come from industry knowledge:

Without FIFA setting the rules, EA is likely to follow the lead of other popular online games by allowing more player-created content, which could be shared in a persistent online environment similar to Fortnite. There’s also room to adapt the classic FIFA gameplay to other variations on the sport beyond the rigid 11 v 11 match. And of course EA will be looking to strike licensing deals with clubs and tournaments around the world that are not overseen by FIFA.

SOURCE: SydneyMorningHerald.au (not a gaming website, but again, it mirrors language used elsewhere whilst being more specific)

They already have Volta. So the 11 vs 11 match is out of the window for some time.

They had player created content before with Creation Centre while having the Fifa name (unless Fifa was against it suddenly)

Also regarding Clubs and Tournaments not overseen by Fifa: a lot of guesswork there. Since I am not sure Fifa had any influence on which leagues EA licenses since they didn't license leagues and tournaments through Fifa but individually.

Anyhow if these things are the case then getting rid of Fifa isn't a bad thing for gamers.

For me it would be nice if they started licensing more lower leagues.

Or give me Sunday Football Leagues

Exactly. The very reason why F2P works as a concept is because all you're asking of the customer is their time and bandwidth to download the game. You're enticing them with the free sample and once their in there and having fun, then you overwhelm them with your brightly coloured brainwashing in game storefront and obnoxious ads and then before you know it, they're spending money anyway on content they didn't know they wanted at first but now they know they need. EA don't even need to charge for the base game really, just do it just because they can and it still works as a buisiness model. I bet if Epic reversed it and started charging for a hypothetical Fortnite 2, they would still be richer than Saudi Arabia, but that's neither here not there.

It's like a gateway drug - The dealer offers you the first score for free, gets you hooked then he controls you.

Besides, if you still have doubts about this, looks at EA's competitors... And no it's not necessarily just eFootball - The other football game. It's Fortnite, Call of Duty, APEX etc. All games that have billion dollar turnovers in spite of being free and Fortnite's genre rival, PUBG has also at long last succumbed to the F2P model mostly due to a dwindling player base and to entice a new generation of players who didn't want to invest money into the unknown by converting from the aforementioned F2P havens.

I used PA3 and made it to Div1 mate. To be honest if you have a half decent defence and know who to break the press. You'll win most matches. Just anticipate the spammers.

When the rumors of changing the name of the game circulated, they announced the F2P
Where did EA officially announce a free2play version? There were rumours but I never read that they officially announced a Free2Play game?

They have Free2Play Mobile games, but can't find an official announcement on a console Free2Play version.

At the moment it is all rumours and speculations, which is normal with a name change.

Well then it is all it is until there is an official announcement: rumours.

Read the last sentence of your posted screenshot: "However these rumours are just that. Rumours. EA has not stated an intent to make its next football game free to play."
