eFootball (All Platforms)

In my opinion every footy game had been much more fun playing average or below average teams. I very rarely touch any 4+ stars teams since PES3.
Weaker teams force you to play strategic and not rely on super players. It's so nice that this year we have J league, besides it's a fun and competitive league in real life, so much details Konami give this league, being their home country football.
I agree, JLeague is fun to play, very competitive league where anybody can defeat anybody
Hope to see some stadiums as well, e.g. Saitama Stadium and official branding scoreboard, however in real life, I think their branding is quite outdated so will probably not give us an extra scoreboard like EURO 2020 or AFC CL

And we have teams like this too in Div1 controlled by what is felt like someone who never played the game, full with legend players of course. That 3 chances were more like 1. The other two were shots long way out as he couldnt pass not even into my final third. But of course the final pass of my players went behind my striker, or the shots got scuffed, or got deflected, or in the last minute Viera catches up and sucks the ball out of my ass, or Kahn saved the rest obviously.
I wonder how he has beaten most people...Look im all up for a challenge but then for the love of god let there be different leagues.
Let there be farmers league for us where there are no legend players or amateur league with no players rated over 90.
And yes pass assist filters.

Because it starting to feel like even a dog can beat me on this game if it has a stacked team with 90+ players while i dont.

Hey everyone,

So yesterday I tried to long into to play efootball league and it was stuck with the loading symbol trying to get into the efootball league. I tried reinstalling the game from steam, verifying the files and nothing. I even downloaded the game from Microsoft Store to see if that would help and it did the same thing. It worked fine two days ago. I didnt download anything weird or mods. Any idea of what it could be? Though I am able to play the AI events. It seems as though its stuck trying to load into the online screen.
Have the same problems sometimes, a few time you just have to wait 30-40 seconds when you click on it. Otherwise it always help for me to restart the game.

Just scored one of the most disgusting goals i have ever scored. Its 2on1 (GK), simple low cross within the box, simple tap in, goes way wide, the late defender comes and TAPS IT IN with its foot. Its not a rebound. It is a tap in. It would have been an embarrasing goalkick.
Free to play, enjoy
I dont get the joke. Did Konami stated something like they dont collect feedback? (While its obvious they dont)

Long time? He was on a Twitter pic with Adam on August last year. To show us he didn't leave.
Everyone saw it, you probably missed it mate. As people said "Bring back Seabass" lol. He answered.

If you got a more recent pic then... Okay, you're right about him quitting (but not long time ago)

Could you share? Adam doesn't post much nowadays and there aren't any photo's or tweets about him for the last 3 years (very easy to browse)

What DID happen, was Adam showing a selfie that Seabass still works at Konami in AUGUST 2016, 6 years ago already though.

Just asking, as an avid follower of everything behind the scenes :) And if this above is the thing, shows how easy it is to get misinformed just by hearsay

I think it was on a other tweet, without pic but whatever, memory you know
I should return the question so, one saying that a left a long time ago. Or he simply left.

Still there's absolutely nothing that indicates that he's not working for PEFOOTBALL until know. So why sayin he's not there any-more like a statement?
The logic should be that he's still there until we know the contrary no?
It's more me/us to ask a post showing that he's no longer with them in fact.

I’ve played a little bit of this and I’ve seen enough. It’s tempting to push through all of the issues because it can be quite a fun game, and I do personally liked the PES 2011 MLO squad building, so much more than anything where you don’t choose your exact player to sign based one what you need. But this problem where the quality of the opposition affects your own players, to the extent that it does, is simply not something I can accept.

I get that it’s difficult to show how good Lewa is at making runs off the ball, or being in the right place at the right time. But that doesn’t mean he gets to crash shots against the face of my defender, control the rebound and shoot straight into the corner. Or make my defenders suddenly run out of position, or make my CB not get his foot on the ball, or make the game switch players for me and completely kill my attempt to track his run. It’s so unfair when I have to work as hard as I do to create good chances with Ben Yedder and Antony vs Beckenbauer and Roberto Carlos, and yet the other guy can just pass it straight up the pitch because my CBs are fighting over each other to see who can hold basic shape the least.

I don’t know if anyone’s played GT7 but you win reward cards for driving a certain amount per day. When you go to claim this, you’re shown 5 different rewards - eg a supercar, a rally car, a road car, a huge pile of gold bars, and then a shitty pile of coins. As soon as these pop up, you can bet your kids that you will end up getting the shitty pile of coins. Because as much as the game pretends it’s playing Wheel of Fortune, selecting one of these through random chance, it’s so obvious that this isn’t the case. If the game just showed me 9 shitty piles of coins and 1 slightly bigger heap, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But it’s the sheer bloody cheek of the game pretending this isn’t a crooked setup - that’s what really winds me up.

And this is my issue with this game - except it’s not some silly points gift that’s flaunting how rigged it is, it’s the actual game on the pitch. The game is actively sabotaging my gameplay and making me lose because of something that might have been influenced by real world money. That’s the definition of match fixing. How can I be ok with that?

I wasn't claiming that myself, but your point indeed stands the other way round aswell.

No time to google a lot but a quick google search shows only a ''special thanks'' for PES2020, I always though around that time he stepped back a bit but as an assumption.

Anyways, just asked where you got your info from with proof as I love little facts behind the scenes :)

Nice found mate.

Yes if he's on the Special Thanks but for on every games/version so it's just showing that he still there / not quitted a long time ago for sure (and even he's not on PES 2021... But it's a "Season update so 2020 and 2021 should probably be considered as "the same game" but i didn't checked other producers so)
To me he just retrograded perhaps from his own will. Remember well he said he was pretty involved on Ball Physics on a French/Belgian small itw.

So since 2018 version after behind "Senior Editor" (means not producer but adviser) he's probably, just an assumption, fixing ball physics for the series.
Well it's speculations but based on the 20 years he's working there, let's says it follow a certain logic that he doesn't lead anymore but still there.
We can says he doesn't have a good job to keep + his "senior status"...

Edit:
Whatever : he's not a genius in terms of developing and creating like Kojima who was in advance on practically everything. He and the team missed the turning point on PS3 regarding technology, like if we were in a cave with a PS2 only, while PC got much more advanced engine at the time.
But he's good to rectify and bring variety (like for PES 2010 to 2011 > Remember on the ITW put some new algorithms for the PS3 / That we call "PS2.5 engine" to gives more freedom. And we can say the game got more freedom, still balanced and more advanced than PES 2010, like it or not)

Now, impossible to blame him. And i remember a sentence from him, but dating from a long time "CPU play is more important than VS and Online play. People will always play against CPU"... But it was a bit before the online democratisation. Total opposite to Kimura then...
And to me he's right / even if at that time people wanted good ONLINE servers at all cost so disagreed with that sentence but : if the CPU AI is good, it will be good for your teammates too so that's easier to found a balance if players are taking the right choice, for you as well as your opponent on VS.

I'm reading the last pages, and i'm completely lost in translation when you're talking about DreamTeam
Got the impression that i'm on an FUT/Myclub forum lol, no offence if the system is okay and there's no other way to play that beta.
Just that's it's not my thing at all, it's not fun to me or any football game, always completely ignored those type of mode.

Prefers playing Exhibitions matches (10 minutes) with real rosters, and trying all teams in game. No joke : the mode i played the most is "Duel" (no idea in english where it's called, "Versus" perhaps?) where you have to defy the CPU and got results and games stats like if it was a challenge.
Well i prefers to wait again before replaying it, as the beta-ish state it looks and feels like.

For online as servers are okay, i will probably wait for Divisions mode if they release it.
But will probably more playing, even if it's only "Dual" mode or fast made cup/league, offline modes DLCs (pretty sure there will be, Konami won't refuse some money for modes so easy to add. ML... I don't think we will see it before months and months)

But it was always special thanks to the data editors too as in the credits. And not even the contractors but the UK team too who are in full time. And sometimes people left out from the credits too..
Imo im pretty sure hes there but as a consultant.

Here's a live example of this happening:

Exactly what I'm talking about. Here's an example from me a little while ago, and I've no interest in going back now (especially knowing all the teams in Dream Team are just variations of "Classic XI" at this point) - it's the perfect backheel, to the opponent:

On the interception attempt and getting megged: it's really fucking annoying. I've not played the game in a week or two, but from memory I think the issue is created because they want you to be really judicious with your positioning, pace, and when you press L2. So the ideal would be that you sprint near position, come off sprint, have slowed down, have faced the play, and then pressed L2. That's when it seems to intercept properly.

The problem? Try doing that in a frantic ping pong match against superstars where the guy insists on playing it as fast as possible. Basically impossible to play that sort of interception game reliably, and it triggers a fuck tonne of these megging animations instead.

I think the idea with Match-Up was that it would introduce these 1-on-1 "skill gap" scenarios, where players would try to outwit each other, and if you get it wrong as a defender, you'll be left for dead. Then they implemented the mechanisms for that in a game which allows for fast paced assisted passing and inflated player stats and the outcome is just a pile of trash. This is what happens when you abandon gameplay principles that make sense (like: reward player for being in position to block pass) in pursuit of the skill gap.

Another way of looking at it is a pursuit of a kind of realism, because players in real life do slow down and face play, change posture to intercept (often). But the problem here is that this is second-nature for actual humans on a football pitch, not something that we input at every stage. It does more justice to the real sport to have these things automated with animations (FIFA does this, albeit the animations look a bit forced and glitchy from what I've seen).

Played some nice Matches against Superstar AI on English Tour. 1-1 vs Brighton and a 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton.

But this shows the game really needs Master League or at least a League mode and all Teams unlocked. Playing against the AI is really fun and I think I would really enjoy playing a Premier League Season with this AI as opponents.

There is no way devs were this detailed and meticulous when designing the mechanics, if they were, this game would clearly be on the next level on ever other aspect, which it clearly is not.

Its simply a poor/age old coding choice, its the same with fifa as well, constant rebounds to opp when its time to score or attack, regardless of the positioning, interception or deflections. It really is that simple. Stop looking too much into it.

Yeah why go with a reasoned and logical explanation when there is an age old sinister conspiracy theory to do the job

Have to agree with @Chilleverest here. I strongly feel that the game is by-numbers in areas like this and your input isn't a key factor. A calculation is made and the opponent's number is higher, so that's it - and do you know what, I'd love that in areas like "their player is stronger so I just get knocked off the ball" and "their defensive awareness is better so my overly ambitious passes don't make it".

But instead of that, what should be "your first-touch attribute is low and you're under pressure so you'll miscontrol the ball and it will run loose", is actually (for example) "the opponent's defensive awareness is high, so without even being under pressure, your player will become Mr. Bean, having no awareness of where the ball is and comically deflect the ball to the opponent so that the user is 'rewarded' for having the superior player".

Ask a FUT player and they'll tell you that's exactly how it should be, because otherwise they aren't getting enough benefits from their expenditure (in-game currency or actual currency). Look at whenever they have a "classic" striker (e.g. Pele) and miss the target. It's practically a crime. "It's a scam."

They've paid their money, they demand no misses.

Yeah why go with a reasoned and logical explanation when there is an age old sinister conspiracy theory to do the job
Play vs the AI on Superstar/Legend in the training mode and when you switch your AI opponent from "same level as you" to "much better than you", you'll notice your own players becoming less responsive and much more stupid in their decision-making.

It has been that way in PES forever, from the days when consoles didn't have the CPU power to force a win against you by simply "playing better" than you - and it's never gone away. Do you seriously think *now* is the moment that they fix this? The moment they go free-to-play and when the only way they can make money is if you buy players with real money?

This is when they need that mechanic more than ever. Because If we don't all buy players, the product dies - and it's already got a tiny dev team that exists purely to drive the most revenue possible from the smallest expenditure possible.

They didn't kill PES to make the world's best football sim. They killed PES because PES Mobile has been making them a fortune from the smallest amount of human resource. Why wouldn't you advance that model and cut costs and make a cross-platform, simple-code, pay-to-win money-maker? You get the PES fanbase downloading it, plus angry FIFA players and everyone else who'll download it because it's free.

Suddenly, you've got a much bigger market than you had when selling PES, and if you give them enough free credits to buy their favourite player, they might pay $5 to build a team of their favourite players. If you can get close to achieving that for every player (PES mobile games were downloaded one billion times)... It makes total business sense.

yeah there's absolutely no point playing now i've gotten up to division 5. my tactic of long ball up to a targetman doesn't work when my beefy TMs like weghorst have the strength of a child and every tackle goes unpunished against him because the opposition have legends in defence. stupid

That's basically the whole game.

The inputs are delayed. I really don't feel in control of my player.

Not sure if that much delay is realistic, but at the end of the day I'm playing a video game, not watching a match. If inputs feel that delayed, I can't enjoy the game. And that is on user vs cpu matches. Playing online against others makes it even worse due to added input lag from the ping.

While not really a fan of delayed input, I think PES 14 did it decently. I could play that game all day. Probably has to do with how the animations were in that game. Players took time to move the ball itself but they would tilt/ move their feet fairly quickly after I moved my stick, giving me the illusion of them responding to my input.

Other game where delayed input felt doable was fifa 16, not responsive but not excessively delayed.

Finally was able to buy Van Dijk from GP I earned and also was able to level him up. Together with Kounde he has been the perfect answer so far to the Romarios and Batistutas. Also got Hinteregger as a Backup and he is doing well against them.

Yeah, the AI is better than in PES 2020 and 2021 but since it is Konami they say now: AI will never be able to produce what human vs human can, typical Konami...

Konami never transitioned out of the PS2 era of game design. EFootball 2022 is essentially, legacy code in a modern engine (UE). UE4 is just a facilitator for dated game logic and mechanics. UE5 won't change that either.

I'll give it to Konami though, they are a very resourceful company. They mirrored the formula that already works for them... So PES has been turned into Yu Gi Oh essentially.......:LMAO:

Don't worry, the game has potential. It will get better in time! Keep hope alive. The game you dream of is just a few years away!

Shocked to be fair. But this night i logged in dead tired, 6 pts needed with 3 games left. Won with confidence two games against two op opponents, but everything clicked perfectly. Won 1-0 and 2-0. We. Are. Staying. Up.

Although using the 2x 10K XP boost gave a huge bump to my defence. Plus i bought Barrios, who is a game changer. And not just on football terms level but actually in Dream Team. He has all the Tackling, Blocking, Interception traits and high defensive attributes and he is only 50K.

Yeah heard alot about Barrios there is alot of individuality in the game. I didn't get Barrios because passing is super important for how I play so I got xhaka who I have beefed up his already very high passing and focused on his defensive awareness. Him golovin and ward prowse pretty much always out pass the opposition and all have high stamina so can get around the pitch well. Only problem is if I come up against Kante. That guy is just a ridiculous op player but that's how he is in real life so I don't hate it. I just keep the ball away from him at all times.
