Quite probably. These games are built for a generation that doesnt even watch full matches, just the highlights. So why build a game that reflects something they know nothing about?
 
OMG.. i quit after 30 min in first half.. for me the gameplay and controls are total mess .The passing's and dribbling feels really really bad. The new camera makes me sick and that is not a joke. That is not a PES anymore, not only the name, they fuck up the gameplay and mechanics the we love in the past .. They copied all the mechanics from FIFA, literally

Now the Run button and the previous function R2 are one , as FIFA but feels worst
There is no more super cancel ,with R1 it is unusable, at least I didn't see anything happening with it, as FIFA but worst.
You can no longer call the 2nd defender, as FIFA (maybe)
Now witch X you just follow the players with the ball , as FIFA.
There no more double click of X to tackle , now you do it with one button , as FIFA.
Now can, holding cover the ball with the body with a button, as FIFA

At the moment I can't write because I'm very, very angry … I'll try to gather my thoughts and try again later.
 
It can’t be worse than the one from the trailer that showed better looking graphics last year, but Messi doesn't have a tattoo in this version as shown in the test trailer. They made the absolute mistake of putting the version out.

Concerning about this is that this would indicate non total freedom, because some minor things will still be calculated by the game, like predefined
 
Played a few matches. This is really bad.

Uninstalled and back to games that make me happy - football gaming will never change, the end goal will be about the myClub zombies anyway

I assumed it was the pes 22 season update for last gen that we were testing but it’s playable on series x/ps5 too, I’m seeing .. baffling and worrying in equal measure.

Yh definitely deliberate. It’s a great change. There’s much more space and time and much better 1v1s (but this is vs a human after all). I meant learning the new controls is hard not the re-mapping etc.
So the shield with left trigger for example is new-ish. Trying to work out thru-feint(surely it hasn’t been removed?!)
And ultimately how the defend. It’s promising that you can’t just go into it and play it the same way.
 
So I am coming here directly after playing 5 games. (I scored 6, conceded 4)
Here are things I have seen so far

- The gameplay is very very different from PES 2020 and 2021
- The gameplay is slow too, I welcome that but at times it feels slow to the point you think 'is it a good thing?'
- I read someone here saying that there is no midfield battle, I think it really depends on who you played, all games I played , the players seemed to want to play actual football - all except for 1 guy who kept on running into my players and just crossed / through passed it to Messi/Griezmann again and again.
- There were no offsides.
- Also about the midfield point, I definitely felt a physical aspect to the game that I feel is missing in Pes 20 and 21. So I think that's a good thing

Here's one thing: The overalls or stats did not matter, all players felt the same, which I think is fine since they really are only testing Online servers.

Sadly I did not hear any of the intoxicated or lost child lines from the Stadium announcer :P

Player models looked bad except for Messi who looked ok

Here's the last (and the best??) thing:

The graphics are as bad as (or even worse) PS2 PES graphics.
This certainly means PES is going back to their glory days and we will get mind blowing gameplay right?? Just like PES 5 :LMAO::LMAO::LMAO:

The cutscenes and menu look good, especially that starting team selection thing, it reminded me of PES 2011, something I talked about in @Camaldinho 's Discord! I may or may not be a visionary :LOL:

Overall I feel this is a really old build from 6-8 months ago, just made and put out now for Online testing. Absolutely nothing should be taken seriously in regards to gameplay or graphics.
 
I didnt have any expectations regarding menus/cutscenes, and I still was disappointed:

- Slow transitions
- Goddamn freezes even with the superfast PS5 SSD
- Menus still running at 15 FPS, cutscenes are still 30 FPS :(

They just don’t care, and probably never will. I would even say PS2 era menus were faster than this next gen attempt.

Thank God! At least someone pays attention! It's just a pre-alpha for online testing and basically 90% of the people around the internet is complaning about how shit PES22 looks etc. Such a shame really.
 
I can't believe what people here are commenting. guys it's testing, they say that themselves, not product that should be judged on and yeah why leaking their game before it's officially announced? I don't say this isn't stupid to put game in this state on psn no mater which developer is but again: it's for testing purposes of their servers! Cmon...

Oh yes, and this. I had quite a look during cutscenes and even while playing and if that isn't a port from Mobile to Console, then I would be quite worried. But yeah it definitely looks like a port from mobile
 
I like the beta overall. What I don't like it is the running animations. It resembles PES 2010, that hunch, hanging in a rope, bicicle pedaling, sitting running animations. :LOL:
This have potencial.

Then Konami need to send out private codes for beta testers to try it if they don’t want bad publicity.

All of this proves how amateur and incompetent Konami still are.
We’re all excited for a new PES on a new engine yet all we get is the same stale, boring game we’ve had for years.

This beta is a big disappointment
 
They should've just released a random FPS shooter to test the online performances to avoid criticism aimed towards PES 2022. Although judging from the comments, I think there'd still be some people complaining how the new PES is not even played on a stadium and players have guns for some reason.

Blame it on Konami then. People will comment what they'll see, especially if it's a public beta. And rightly so.

That Messi image (from the UE trailer from last year) just looks far too superior. I'm trying really hard to convince myself that this isn't actually it.

Only choice is to wait until July 21st!

I am making sense, and you just proved it yourself, "people will judge what they have in hands" and that's exactly what I said, not bothering to read the text but hey let's jump to conclusions anyway even though we have no clue what the hell is in front of us.
 
No more super cancel and fake shot as we know... now the fake shot is combination with R1 or R2 :D why ?? NOBODY know.. nobody ask them to change it...
Fakeshot always was shot+ pass since PES 2... now its gone. Now is shot/pass +R1 or R2
