eFootball (All Platforms)

Are you really still debating if Pes is dead or not? Do you accept that this is the new reality or still hoping they somehow magically will go back to Pes?
I already said this but the moment Efootball fails to bring enough money compared to production costs they will close it, definitely not producing anything football related anymore. Just like Silent Hill, just like Metal Gear, Suikoden, and the dozens of IP they have they remember just to make a quick cashgrab with collections like Contra and Castlevania.

This new Efootball, even with the best gameplay ever, without modes will stay dead to us offline players. Did really someone expected they launched 1.0 with Master League?

The real Pes doesn't exist anymore, just accept that. This is not a demo, this is the 1.0 of a platform, like Fortnite, that will have 99% online content.

Konami have now released an unfinished demo twice in six months.

This is not directed at someone in particular here, it's just that i read on Reddit some people are crying because 1.0 didn't bring offline modes.

So that was the way to go all these years and they finally figured it out - if you only have 9 teams - you can even add some individuality into the mix!
Fair play, Konami..

Yes it is a VERY odd situation. Finally players not just doing the robotic give and goes, or the odd quick turns back and forth than the backpass. But seen Verrati sitting on the ball wandering around a bit and while he is turning back and forth it is with much realistic animations it looks more like he is looking for passing lanes. Or lets take MBappe who either passes back the ball he gets, or to the side just so all of a sudden once would do a quick turn and burst away from the last defender. Or Odegaard taking one on one the keeper but first doing a fake shot to make him go the other way. Oh and hell yes AI Neymar takes on 2-3 of your defenders with success. THIS IS what i have been waiting for for 9(!!!) years....and yes it is in a empty game, an online demo basically indeed. :LMAO:Not even a league or cup mode, the hell just give me those right now i would pay for them, those dont need new features like ML.

Making another small mention about the content itself, this is the progression of the edit mode in 2022 after so many years of "hard work". I can't believe that are almost 18 years between those two and the thing from the right it's a final v1.0 product from 2022. Pants down, even the pixelated PES 5 UI (that's not even the main focal topic in this image) looks more advanced...

Ofcourse, Efootball was always going to double down on the fantasy team gamemode where the money is
PESmobile is so fricking popular its insane.

Its no coincidence that the more Arcade crowd I know seemingly seem to adore this version. Its simplified, its a very reactive football game. And it tries to simulate the on the surface football enough that some wont miss the depth in its core which will play as ''nuisance'' for a lot of folks.
In the end its a video game, and it is its own beast, They will for sure have a good dedicated community on Dream Team and be financially stable

I think it's the best football simulation regarding player freedom on the market. You can do everything you can do in real life in defense and offense.
If they now fix the ball physics then it's perfect.

Also players abilities were better presented

FIFA even after 13 years with FUT, kept the same players abilities.

THIS IS what i have been waiting for for 9(!!!) years
9 teams, 9 years..
Oh God - we better stop talking or it will start looking like some prophecy and some will start shouting that "The King is Back"...
On a serious note - I dont think 5mins matches or a training mode can give any indication on how AI will play in proper offline mode, once the whole chemistry and "drama" will be added..
Quickest, most efficient goal scoring patterns might become uncomfortably obvious then.
Besides - I have an awful feeling that these 9 teams and alleged player ID are hand polished demo versions just to charm people. And it will all be followed by copy/paste army of clones.

I've managed to play it more for a couple of hours now. At first I was greeted by the introduction to the Dream Team, since now the servers were actually up, and my initial impressions of this mode are decent. I'm probably one of the few people here that, despise the shady business practices, actually enjoyed myClub to a certain extent, leveling players up and seeing them grow, building up all sorts of squads with the players you had, trying to find managers that fit a play style you wanted to go for, it had a lot to enjoy and I got to experience all of that thanks to the fact there was some offline content, which Dream Team doesn't seem to have so far, hopefully it is added in future updates. After that I went into training again and, to my surprise, I could choose all Brazilian clubs again, without having to deal with the bugs I encountered earlier today, so with that in mind I chose Coritiba and Athletico-PR again to play for a little while.

What I'm doing to get the most out of these training matches is adding a win condition, since there's no scoreboard or timer, so whoever scores 3 goals first is the winning team, this at least gives me the drive to play it for real, since it adds the possibility of me winning or losing, at least in my own head, even without a 90min timer. I didn't like eFootball at first, but some aspects of the game play did grow on me over time in previous versions, and since the core here is the same I was sure that it'd be at least somewhat enjoyable, and it really was. I love being punished for sprinting too much, I love the error in passing and shooting which makes everything feel more organic, I love the realistic pace of matches, I love the variety of goals I'm being able to score that I wouldn't even have attempted before, I love how satisfying the shooting feels, I love how the CPU feels less robotic than in previous years, there's a lot to like in here.

Now, of course it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I feel there was a slight graphical upgrade, but it's still amateurish, especially the turfs which are nowhere near as good as PES2019's, though at least the player anatomy is sleek and an improvement from PES2021. I don't even have to mention the UI, it's still a graphical design sin, I can't stand it. I like how there's more to do in the game plan at least, but it still feels clunky and underdeveloped. What annoyed me the most in my earlier session was the defense, and it's still the case here, I don't like that they ditched the system they had, it was promising, just needed polish, this one just feels like everything the old system was mocked for, where it's all about pressure and feels automated. I don't like the feel of the players either, they go back and forth from being heavy and light, on the ball I can deal with it, but off the ball it leads to me running past opponents often and it feels awkward.

I agree with many here that there is a lot to enjoy in the current version of eFootball's game play, but to me it still doesn't feel like enough, I mean, it has potential, but how many times did we say that before? We're always betting on Konami's potential and they never fully take advantage of it, which just leads to us being disappointed, so I'll just remain cautiously optimistic. Also, there's still almost nothing to do here, even if the game play is better, that can only get us so far.

Im playing 12 min games on PC, thats why im saying.
Sure competition could be a chore with all the scripting and team spirit involved as usual.
Im not saying this is the best PES games since PS2 or the king is back but surely has the best offline AI in a decade now. It is ironic why this ended up in this empty anti offline game.

Ps4 standard, terrible quality. Replay has better colors than game. Pitch has like a dead color

Deleted it from my Series X today. Playing 5 min games of players ice skating chasing a ball that has the physics of playing football on an exo-planet is a waste of time. This game is as close to good PES titles as I am to that exo-planet. I’d rather stick with FIFA 22 and use sliders to get gameplay I enjoy than play this garbage.

BTW, did Konami have a feeling Russia was going to invade the Ukraine because the fucking horrific color scheme is pretty close to the Ukrainian flag?

Its certainly a lot better than it was. Annoyingly it doesn't seem to support ultrawide anymore though. Which the first version did

Been playing it a few hours since I got back from work, and unfortunately, once again, very disappointed with game and Konami. Not so much because their technical incapability, but because their decisions and their vision. Once again, instead of improving good things they added, they just cancel everything and go back.

Changes I don't like compared to previous version:

-momentum and inertia are dumbed down - it needed little tweaking but it was very good and realistic mechanics.
-duels feel wrong - defender always wins ball, although it shouldn't regarding body positions of attacker and defender.
-defending is way to easy
-passing is more assisted (playing on assisted level 3) - for me passing freedom on level 3 was the best in any pes game I ever played.

While I can understand first 3 changes, not everybody likes heavy momentum and inertia, I just cant understand why they changed passing, because there are 3 assistance levels, why change the least assisted one when you have two more options.

Of course, there are positives also, but very disappointed they are playing it safe once again, instead of taking risk and pursue their vision.

60 days? Does that mean even if you do not play games, it expires anyway after 60 days? And for 1 day you can use this player for 100 matches? I'm confuse
The contract length for each new player is 365 days. After that, you can extend the contract of a player for another 60 days with this item.

Basically, you can use your players for a year, and then you're pretty much forced to acquire new players. It's probably like that to keep things fresh.

I played 5 games online during the stream and they were all pretty smooth. But I only won my first one with a goal on the 2nd minute, the rest were 3 losses and a draw. 3 teams had full lineups of players already, many special ones as well. I had some points from Konami sending them to me to make up for how shit their game is but I have no idea how everyone else had so many points - probably just got them in the old version? Anyway, those match were pretty good although I don't see myself making a habit out of playing them.
Needless to say the number of FUMA players was f*ck all.

The more I play the more I realize how butchered the game is.
efootball 2022 (up to 0.9.1) had a character, a certain approach, even if it was not well accepted.
I feel that the update is a sad effort to "PES21-ise" the game, removing all its characteristics.
Physicallity is non existent as well as body collision physics.
The natural animation transitions with micro-steps kai very good body posture to represent inertia /momentum are now precanned animations with no trace of physicality.
Players slide like never before, the teleport to the ball, they stop, turn change direction immediately.
Again we have there are wide open spaces, no sense of team build up play.
The only thing I enjoy is shooting, which is the best for years now.
If version 0.9.0 had stunning shot/pass, I would be happy.
Really can't stand how players glide on the pitch, the -nearly perfect- footplanting of previous versions is gone.

Wide open spaces wasn't corrected on 0.9.1 unfortunately. It has been a feature of PES for a long, long time. The problem is in the mapping of zones across the pitch for player positions. It would be such an easy fix for them to make things more narrow.

Nonsensical comparison. Why are you comparing edit mode to an online gamemode?

On PC, they made some improvements with this version. There are still some problems such as collision detection and frame rate issues. PLayer movement still feels a bit janky, but it isn't as bad as it was with V0.9. I haven't noticed any graphical bugs or anything. There's potential, but I am not going to get on the hype train for this. I need to see a lot from the devs before I go and twerk for Konami like some people are doing today. I still don't like the concept of live service games, especially with sports titles.

Negativity is to be expected for this game. I'm not really surprised by anything i have read here last few pages. Some funny comments from people i do have to respect which again Konami deserve since they are digging themselemes up from the bottom of a pit.

The best comment I've read here is Konami have released a demo twice in 6 months. Because this is the hole Konami are still in.

But wait? Why am i still happy and positive? I just think its down to me methaphorically seeing life like a poker game. You have to maximise the cards you have for every hand you have. No point crying over not getting what you want. Just use whats there to get the most of what you have.

While we all fully accept this really isn't good enough for April 2022. 9 teams only playable unless on PC you can use a mod? A game still in beta state? Flaws and issues with keepers and some tactics being way too easy to beat? I will repeat what i said last week. The work they need to do but failed to show it on time, still got done which put this game on a good base to build from. They have everything from PES 2014-20 But now evolved into a new movement and dribbling system the game was crying out for.

I'm happy despite, football in general, football videogames including the shitshow in fifa and the ever erroding morally corrupt society we live in we have made it here. We all want football games to acheive their max, its true we dont exactly have these companies even building this for the mature player anymore, thing is Konami at least know you have to evolve and i see from this new movement system they have. The rest still leaves so much to be desired, i aint letting Konami off the hook compeltely but i applaud great work when i see it.

Because PES 2021 still has far more depth in tactics and overall stabillity i will still play this game until or maybe even if efootball is ready for proper offline, not this glorified demo, play online only state. But I do like what i have seen in this gameplay. No game has a dribbling system like this or with the immense potential to come from this.

Lastly this will be a follow up from something i hinted about earlier. Apart from the total change in tackling controls. Konami had a gameplay version like this we see now in 1.0.0 from last August ready to go for the PS5 and PS4. Yes. Its seem what fucked the team was pressure to release a version ready for cross play from PS5 to mobile, a truly stupid idead with a stupid result. They released a early alpha code in 0.9.0 because thats literally all they had avaiable to even scale down in time. That explains all the horrific bugs. Simply killing the mobile game gave them the power to say fuck you, were going back to our original plan which should see a full refined package coming in tandem with next season.

I expect this build to be upgraded until the next big upgrade will be an graphics upscale to unreal engine 5.

Anyway. Happy Easter guys.

The update brought a lot of new interesting stuffs and improvements. Regarding the gameplay I still need to play more matches to see the changes but I think it’s pretty good for a free game.
