eFootball (All Platforms)

Cool for them, they can mock, i already prefers PES 4 and Fifa 09 (i pick the two most arcade and old of the serie) than their game, even if i didn't saw anything about. Hate those small suspicious sentences, they got no idea how much they worked on Konami office.
I would'n't be at their place they're probably working 10-12 hours a day, with all the September events...

Keep me far from their realistic based representation with arcade/offensive based gameplay, same as Goals in fact.

Except if it's in 2D with sprites, or the last Sensible soccer type (even if it's not their best version).

In the first week of January the konami Japan team is back from vacation and at the end of January we will have a new roadmap for efootball 2022 with the planning for the game in the first half of 2022! We should have 2 more minor updates before version 1.0 arrives!

Don't care about vacation thing. I'm concerned about the fact they still don't know what direction they're going while at work after 3 months. It'll be 4 months until they revise and update their roadmap at the end of Jan.
Wtf have they been doing since the release abomination.
If they don't know where they're going but know when they have to arrive, why haven't they left yet and how are they gonna get there? :CONF:

Konami seemed to think that because it's now a F2P game that they could release it in what could only be described as rushed aplha state and the gaming community would accept it. Boy were they wrong. They're going to have to do something pretty spectacular in the next few months to salvage this game and regain the trust in the fan base.

Or maybe gamers just need to learn to be patient? For all the games you mentioned, is it better to have the game released only when fully ready or an imperfect version of the game released few months before? (Which eventually will get fixed later, like it did happened for most of them)

I share the same concern as you do. No news about Konami hiring more devs to the team or anything like that. No significant changes to the team since the launch as far as I am aware of. That's what really concerns me.

I would agree with you, but the thing is they had plenty of Time.

Gamers don't dictate when games are released. Executives do. If anyone needs to be more patient it is them. But that's never going to happen because the most important thing to any executive of a publicly traded company are quarterly and yearly financial reports because that's what makes shareholders happy. That's why year after year things are forced out ahead of Christmas because it looks good on this financial year's reports.

And to add to that, live service gaming has been terribly executed and most developers need to move on from it. If you plan on releasing a game and having a roadmap outlining future dlc/updates, you need to release ample content initially in order to give your playerbase something to do while waiting for said additional dlc. It used to be you made a full game then released expansions packs. Now it's releasing a game piecemeal and that isn't working. It didn't work for anthem, it didn't work for BFV, and it isn't working for BF2042.

And then there's eFoot 2022. A glorified alpha that Konami had the audacity to charge for a premium pack (they've since stopped selling it). The release and reception of the game should be a warning to every developer and publisher, big and small, that the live service model isn't the ideal one for every game. But unfortunately, as long as it remains financially viable, executives will argue for it.

I still don't understand where the "sharp kick" version of the game is. There were people, I believe even some of this forum, who have played a version of the game that hasn't been seen by anyone so far. And the people who played this version said it was good, no outrage, no extreme inertia being reported, no player switching difficulties, no bugs with physical defending mentioned, sharp kicks and sharp long balls in it. Where is this version?!

To shift the blame on gamers that they have to be patient is .. kinda stupid and obviously the result of a short memory!
Let me remind you that we agreed to play and pay for the same game for two years, it's already the third one, and Konami are working with Unreal Engine e for the fourth year or more.
Adding that they use old assets and animations and core from the old engine to save some work , the situation we are in is even more ridiculous.

It's all Konami's fault, no one can excuse them.

The game is ruin not by lack of time but from bad work of Konami.

Everything bad as " new mechanics" , vision, awful presentation, PR policy and management is a collaboration of delusional/wrong decisions and poor execution.

I can't wait to see another stupid step on their side as they enter the NFT's business.

Honestly surprised it's taken this long. You'd think more games would have a marketplace like steam where in game items can be bought and sold with real money

LOL, Patient you say. This is a soccer game and not Last of Us II style game. Konami skipped PES 2021 all together for the release of eFootball 2022.

From the looks of it, they stopped what they were planning as a release and went in a different direction. Not only were they so secure and proud of the new direction by advertising and claiming "The final result was even more impressive than we had originally conceived" and not to mention even releasing this so called impressive game, they even released the timeline of the Road Map since they were so proud of this final result of an impressive game. It is not like this happened in a normal yearly release cycle, it happened in the course of two yearly release cycles..........And you say gamers to need to be patient when the final result of two years in the making was the horrendous game they released that they claimed "The final result was even more impressive than we had originally conceived" but in reality has been panned as one of the worse games of all time.

LOL, patience you say.

pa·tience

the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

When it is really comes down to

re·al·i·ty

the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.

Also,

Kinda hard to be patient on a yearly sports game. In reality in this case was a 2 year cycle. I can understand on a non sports game, but not a sports tied to a season. By the time Konami release eFootball 2022 and then the updates, the season will be about over. Within a couple months, the yearly cycle starts over again of the releases of the sport games season.
