eFootball (All Platforms)

🤦‍♂️ Meh.

Yeah whatever you say man.

This place is becoming so fecking toxic.

I dont have a pythagorean theorem to prove what im saying. I just played two games today and i saw free kicks tactics worked. It means something changed, because before today,i tried many time to do the dash tactic on free kicks and corners and nothing was happening.
Plus, to me, its pretty obvious they toned down l2+a collisions....introducing a predetermined animation.

Ok

I decided to give the game a chance, again, after realizing that there was some update, but unfortunately, it was just some stupid event.

For me, the basics of a football game are defense, attack, and passes that make the connection.

All three fundamental elements in this game are infinitely bad or broken! The worst defensive mechanics I've ever seen, the worst passes in a football game I've played with, and of course the worst attack and dribbling. I can focus on each element and explain why they are broken and bad, but I can already see that you understood it too, so I don't want to repeat the same things but ... yes.

I don't see anything interesting or good in the game that would intrigue me to invest time or money. Even if they release the Master League, or 11 in 11 modes tomorrow, with this gameplay everyone loses meaning.

I am glad that the big media also finally see to Konami and what is happening because over the years, the PES has always remained on the sidelines and no one paid attention to it.

I already gave you a proof.
Free kicks tactics didnt work before today....Now they do.
Was it not? I could have sworn it had worked before as well, kinda remembered that I used far target for every freekick

Anyway tried the game again today, not much different. Some things I noticed are how the players rarely lose track the ball now (idk if this is a patch or just me getting used to it haha) and how the defence feels dumb sometimes. Still can't get used to dribbling and moving the players in general. Passing is still weird for me

Also my Alba is gone now

So EA is even considering abandoning its FIFA license now. This news comes in after it was announced that they broke a record sales with their last game.

If you think this isn’t related to the Efootball fiasco…

First they clearly absorbed a lot of unhappy Efootball players (helping them to reach that record sale), and then given they simply don’t have any competition on the market they even “dare” toying with the idea of losing the FIFA license.

Konami has a huge problem on their hands, a very big one.

Still blows my mind, that just as a whole bunch FIFA players quit their game & were making the switch to PES .. they go & drop the ball so easily.
It is absolutely baffling. It's like watching someone who wanted to sabotage a company internally lol

I'm guessing some will go back to FIFA, but I know many of them just bought PES 2021 on sale. (There are so many newbs in edit section it's actually gr8!)

This was already possible to do.
When the game launched on Ps5 I made a couple of games and free kick tactics were functioning.

I did not played the game after that launch day, but I assume if it worked then it should still work today. They didn’t patch the game after all.

I’m starting to feel a little more positive about efootball.Downloaded this morning again after a relentless 10 days with the other game on the series X.

There’s just things i really like, the manual passing, trap animations and the overall feel of weight and smoothness. The turn speeds, touches and way the players strike the ball and pass is also very natural.Graphically it just has a more earthy and photorealistic look, even in such a alpha stage.

Of course there’s so much missing.Everything is very basic and it’s heavily unfinished. But there’s no reason why this can’t steadily improve over the coming months.

I really want to turn my back, commit to the other game. But there’s still to many things pes just does better, and the lack of fouls and physicality is just killing the other game for me.It’s almost to hyper realised,to clean, suspending reality slightly in favour of response.I just feel to much with the other game, that all I need is to get the ball in the final third and just twist and turn around defenders to open a yard and easily strike a ball on goal. The build up play is there but it’s still to easy to create space in the box by twisting and turning your player. There’s just not enough physicality and pressure.Fouls are none existent most of the time.

Im not saying efootball22 does any of this better, because it clearly doesn’t.But there’s just little signs and elements that are just better.More realistic, even in its current raw state.
I've been playing eFootball on PC last night for the first time since downloading the PS4 version and I must say, The PC version is 10x more stable and visually better looking than the PS4 version, which is hilarious as my PC is inferior to my console in terms of hardware. It boggles my mind that it could look and perform so badly on a PS4Pro.

But to your point, I'm a fair man and i can admit the game still has it's guilty PES pleasures. The animations are far more natural and grounded than FIFA's and the control is a lot more responsive than 2021 too which I happily welcome and the 1v1 is quite fun and rewarding even if it does go against the principle of team defending and secondary pressing.

It's like you say, even in it's current clearly unfinished state, It reminds me a lot of how PES 2014 was so barebones but was an intriguing prototype for what was to come. Only difference was, with that game we was about to get the ultimate football simulation but they changed direction and made it more casual whereas with eFootball, they took the more sophisticated PES 2021 and made it even more accessible and simplified to play.

P.S. You are allowed to say FIFA in here you know, Calling it "The other game" doesn't make it any less subtle what you're refereeing to when everyone and their dog's know's there's only 2 football franchises in the whole of the gaming kingdom that are commonly relevant to what we're all discussing. 😂

Really? When I say "the other game", I'm usually referring to "GOALS". Guess that's just me...

This place isn’t becoming toxic at all.

None of us have to prove what we like playing btw. If you disagree with someone just move on…

I love PES 5. I think PES 6 is arcadey BS though - and most would disagree. And that’s fine! We can like what we like and dislike what we…you get what I’m saying.

PS. eFootball is terrible, it’s not even up for debate

I dislike €football like most here. However if someone even hints about liking it, which should be perfectly fine, it doesn't cost you anything if someone else has something positive to say, the pitchforks come out.

Well said. It’s more Hope then blind optimism but there’s nothing to lose.Considering it’s a free game and I can dip in and out at each point of update, check progress. And only commit financially when I feel the gameplay warrants it.And if,and it’s a big if,quality modes beyond exhibition are available.

In a ironic kind of way all this only puts more pressure on Konami now with Efootball to produce something representative of there legacy. And what fans and newcomers expect.

Nobody is going to want to spend any money on this unless it’s close to Pes21 standards in the long term.

Would be funny if FIFA renames to "Football" so next year we have Football 2023 and eFootball 2023

Anyone on PC, I'd recommend grabbing a Steam key for PES 2021 before too long if you haven't already;

https://www.allkeyshop.com/blog/en-gb/buy-efootball-pes-2021-cd-key-compare-prices/

It's only a matter of time before this gets delisted and the keys get scarcer (and more expensive) until it's eventually lost forever (legally at least).

I just grabbed a key for about £4 - not sure if I'll ever play it but didn't want to be locked out of the potentially years of ongoing mods for the final actual PES game.

What pitchforks? Can’t say I’ve noticed. The odd laughing emoji maybe? But not people attacking others for liking a game.

Konami changed game images in Steam

I think there is an element of this too. Also a kind of creeping snide, passive aggressive tone in some responses to certain people which is entirely personal, rather than a critique of their opinion. Its social media-like behaviour.

FFS, there’s people that are still thinking they did an update to the gameplay. It’s the same f&@&€ng shite.

I would bet my money, that if Konami just changed the version to 1.0 without touching a single thing, influencers and people that still believes that a simple patch 1 week after the game is out, would go crazy, saying it’s fucking completely different and better bla bla bla.

For what I’m seeing it’s going to be difficult for them to survive this move to F2P. F2P model, relies on communication, content, updates with a changelog of it, and first and foremost in a good base. Not some obscure message like Konami usually does, like minor adjustments have been made (and normally PES players go bollocks stating it changed this and that), despite no one knowing what has or has not been changed.

I Guess we probably will have UFL lauched before Konami even try to change anything for real. I guess they Konami will wait for November to see if people calms down with creative team launch and by giving a full eleven of TOTY to everyone, specially to the mobile crowd that will go mental…

Awfull times for someone that just want a football game that resembles “football”

This is what I dont understand. Why are you so angry about someone mistakenly thinking a patch is out?

He wrongly thought free kick tactics didnt work before, someone corrected him, the world moved on.

What he's probably experiencing is session variance, or the fact the game plays better in some stadiums than others. Or that it's so unstable it can barely hold its arse in place.

But so what? He made an error. Why is he worthy of vitriol?

Τhis is a question i also have about , how are they planning to go with th F2P direction. Most f2p games i know, have challenges, weekly events, longterms evens, staff that need effort.

KONAMI until now have showned us that it takes them 2 months to fix a bug with a datapack and 2 to 3 months or 1,5~2 datapacks to update winter transfers.

Include in this, that they are usually making holidays like Greek Schools, IE 2 weeks off on Christmas, 2 weeks off on Easter and on summer they pull off the plug around mid June and come back around end of September. Can't see how this will roll , now that the game is a "live service".

I mean just by spamming the initial screen with apology pop-ups and awarding the users with 10,000GP "for the inconvenience" every 15 days, is not something that can work in game's current state.
