eFootball (All Platforms)

they even went as far as comparing the situation with driving a ferrari prototype, wich will be even better (after fan feedback) once it goes retail!
WdaAF?! and its the director of esportitalia saying that! crazy! super crazy!
Yeah I saw the other article as well. Crazy.

The best bit of this one anyway, to me is in the end when he says "It's useful to remember that the planning of the releases was perfectly respected and by the winter the cycle of the game's production will be completed".. like wtf are you even talking about, who told you that, how could one at least vaguely aware believe that word salad  :?

If by "step in the right direction" you mean Konami never touching this game again, you may have a point, because there's no patch yet. You know that right? Right?!
It did update something when I logged in, I don’t know what though. Hence why I think it could be placebo. Like I said the game is still bad but at the same time it feels better

100% Placebo

They only update live update mate, trust me. Are you playing on console ? or PC ?

If you're on PC, you can go to C:\ProgramData\KONAMI\eFootball\ST\Download and check "date modified" of dt870_console_all.cpk. Konami only update this file, nothing else.

So the "update" (and the reason why the servers was down) was a server-only patch that added a new event?
The game folder hasn't been modified since release day.

Honestly, I'd have been actually extremely shocked if there were any significant updates so soon after launch.

Hi Guys, Anyone has a problem when plays efootball on windows 11? I Just update and seem like it does not support the new system like the older

I’m starting to feel a little more positive about efootball.Downloaded this morning again after a relentless 10 days with the other game on the series X.

There’s just things i really like, the manual passing, trap animations and the overall feel of weight and smoothness. The turn speeds, touches and way the players strike the ball and pass is also very natural.Graphically it just has a more earthy and photorealistic look, even in such a alpha stage.

Of course there’s so much missing.Everything is very basic and it’s heavily unfinished. But there’s no reason why this can’t steadily improve over the coming months.

I really want to turn my back, commit to the other game. But there’s still to many things pes just does better, and the lack of fouls and physicality is just killing the other game for me.It’s almost to hyper realised,to clean, suspending reality slightly in favour of response.I just feel to much with the other game, that all I need is to get the ball in the final third and just twist and turn around defenders to open a yard and easily strike a ball on goal. The build up play is there but it’s still to easy to create space in the box by twisting and turning your player. There’s just not enough physicality and pressure.Fouls are none existent most of the time.

Im not saying efootball22 does any of this better, because it clearly doesn’t.But there’s just little signs and elements that are just better.More realistic, even in its current raw state.

I agree with a lot of what you said. But I think there are almost no fouls in eFootball 22 (offline only though). You basically can run over other players and still no foul is called.
I don't doubt that FIFA 22 is worse (I haven't played it), but eFootball 22 is still far from ideal (with PES20 Demo being the closes).

I used to use X + A to defend. Now I only use LT.

Are you playing online? I play offline only, and using L2/LT almost frequently results in fouls. The AI either shield the ball or kick to the side.

I actually enjoy defending with A/X+X/Square , but I feel like I often foul the AI still, but those fouls are just (incorrectly, IMO) not called.

Offline only. Holding LT is holding A on steroids. I usually foul players doing that in 2021. 2022, maybe 1 foul total.

So EA is even considering abandoning its FIFA license now. This news comes in after it was announced that they broke a record sales with their last game.

If you think this isn’t related to the Efootball fiasco…

First they clearly absorbed a lot of unhappy Efootball players (helping them to reach that record sale), and then given they simply don’t have any competition on the market they even “dare” toying with the idea of losing the FIFA license.

Konami has a huge problem on their hands, a very big one.

King of what exactly?

King of hard drive consumption, since you need about 2 terabytes of mods to get a playable game

That's classic recency bias, after a long period of using one product you start to become hyper aware of its flaws. If you played eShameball for 10 days straight and then went back to FIFA 22 it would probably feel like the greatest game ever made

eFootball might (arguably) be better in one or two areas than the other game which is all well and good - but the stuff that eFootball is worse at is so gob smackingly bad that it simply isn’t worth playing for any amount of time.

If you can get past the ultra stiff gameplay, the lack of collision detection, the slug-like pace of wingers which are supposed to be quick, the crowds which look like they were drawn by my 5 year old daughter, the pitch textures which look like they were made in MS Paint, the IKEA colour scheme, the lack of any content and the terrible AI then hats off to you, you deserve an actual medal for bravery.

I haven’t made any claims and the other game gets so much right interms of AI and how players react to ball, both when it’s loose and under control.Movement, awareness and runs(it’s something Efootball badly needs). It’s something that’s clearly evident when you play manual.Your teamates move after the ball is played. And are much more aware of loose balls.Getting a foot in or intercepting a pass.

What’s clearly evident though is currently how Efootball gets speed of moment and how quickly a player moves and interacts with the ball. It’s just more realistic and there are moments, curved lofted passes with the outside of the boot, and the way the laws of physics and gravity are adhered to,that make you think the hallmarks of that PES dna are still there.

There’s just a smoothness in the animation system and the way the ball move’s that makes it feel next gen.None of that twitchy stuff that can be very jarring in the other game.

Its raw as anything mind..But I think it has legs and potential going forward.

No its not placebo.

For example now free kicks tactics works....
They reduced bad collisions with l2 and replaced 70% of the random output of those with a single motion captured animation.

...for me it remains unplayable due to input delay and complete lack of AI....
still, they are doing something.

Then show me some solid proof if they change anything about the gameplay.

By solid proof, i mean any game files related. Did they update anything today ? except the database file

It as already been proven that they didn’t patch the game. It’s a online services maintenance.

People are just trying to see things that aren’t there. It’s the disappointment with the game, and the fact that people miss PES that is playing that placebo effect.

I wouldn’t argue differently..And it’s not something I’m going to be playing until the supposed said improvements start weighing in.There’s just to much it doesn’t do YET, for me to consider giving it to much play time.

There’s just things I do really like. And part of me just like Chris Davies still feels a little thirsty when it comes to the football experience I really crave.

Whether long term Efootball is that Cool refreshing drink is debatable. It’s going to need a quantum in shift quality and finish first.I’m still really enjoying the other game, but part of me still has a scratch that just can’t be itched..Yet.
