eFootball (All Platforms)

I don't understand when people say defending gameplay is s***. Do you want to go back to hold 1 button to defend?
The new system was the step in the right direction - the execution needs to be better though!
It's not defending the game but there are people who like the game play, I am for one. I do think it's a step ahead of the current one. the ball feels less on rails especially when you play full manual, u have to really control the ball and be more tactical. In fact I can't wait to able to play more than just 5 mins ( I only play offline). Defending is not that easy, you got 3 different controls, not one button defending. That being said, the game is not free of bugs and glitches. It definitely needs tweaking and improvements but the there's something promising about the foundation there.

I read on twitter that they were releasing a patch/hotfix today so I went back to efootball and it still plays like ass. If there are any improvements, they are barely noticeable.

It doesn't have the absurd collision detection issues we saw on launch day but they are still bad. The player models look ok but need more improvement. The arms of some of the players don't look natural to the rest of their body. Framerate is garbage. It's like 25 to 30 fps. For some reason, night time matches run a bit smoother. Players have little to no weight in their movements.

i think they have upscaled the graphics a bit. Controls are not very responsive. AI is still a mess. Man marking is a joke. For some reason, the beginning of every match, the turf looks worn out.

The physicality is one of the areas that needs most work. Far too often when you clash with other players, you end up getting awkwardly dragged ten meters away from the ball.

If you are playing on the PC, you should check out the editing forum. There's a patch which unlocks more teams and 10 minute games.

You're an offline player and you're still holding on hope for Konami? lol

stopd reading threre, no offense.
adapting to something that is broken and then liking it: still broken.

(remember i like the gameplay or idea/vision, just the technical/response side is rubbish)
they either fix the defence/response or its dead this same year before it even lived, there is no fiddling around this.

its what you ultimately do, holding a controller in both your hands, if the controls and feedback is garbage any idea or vision gameplay wise means NOTHING.

Hilariously shambolic.
Oh this is 100% pure realism mate.

It simulates the neighborhood i grew up.

When we were playing football in the hood, this was very common, if the "ball-owner" was a very spoiled kid.
He could bend the rules, object to refereeing decisions, play as he likes outside of positions/formation, interrupt the match and whenever things got very bad he could do same as Neymar does in the video, threatening the rest of us saying if we do not do as he wishes, he would take the ball and go back home, canceling "the match". :)

I'm actually really enjoying this now, yes there is a lot to iron out and improve but I'm already playing this far more than FIFA 22. For me it plays a far more methodical game of football, and I prefer the weight and movement overall.

Graphically I feel it's similar to what PES 2021 offered, but they need to improve the stuttering cut-scenes etc. The night lighting is really good from what I've seen as well.

Apart from the broken L2 press I really love the defending & dribbling in this now. It's been a week of pain & suffering, especially 25 odd years of muscle memory gone out the window but I can feel some of the positives now amongst all the bugs.

There's still absolutely no excuse for releasing such broken mess of a product though & these graphics are unacceptable on PS5. It's miles away from being anything you could recommend & an embarrassment for the most part.

There's a very small glimmer of light in some of the gameplay at times though. I bought FIFA 22 on launch but surprisingly keep playing this more instead, old habits die hard or maybe I'm just a sucker for punishment 😭😂

This game is only playable to me with +1 game speed, night time, 10+mins and with teams that dont use all out defense.
Getting the hang of the mechanics and controls and its not that bad.

Still a lot of fixing need to be done (if they capable of doing it) and without proper master league mode it will still be a poo

I've gravitated to fifa over the years and aiming to buy a ps5 for fifa 22 but I keep thinking..."will I just play this instead...am I mentally unwell for even thinking that...why am I such a kinky freak?"

So i sympathise. I just like how bloody grounded it all is, despite the utterly pathetic level of bugs, and the choppiness which is testing my patience. I keep seeing so many cool moments, so much that is off-rails, so many moments that are born entirely of a new situation simply playing out (I wont use the words emergent or organic, I'll be rightly asked to leave the forum permanently) that I can't help but like the thing.

If anyone who enjoys it has downloaded the patch, please feedback on it. I hope they dont start 'tightening it up' as a way of fixing it, like the did to pes 14. I hope they fix it without abandoning what's good... keen to know if they get rid of the inertia, the freedom and looseness...

I love how when I'm defending the flanks with a full back, with the analogue sprint, its genuinely about pacing your approach to the winger, running parallel, sometimes moving closer, then away a little, trying not to commit whilst not allowing the winger, who actually dribbles now, too much space.

The reason this feels so good is partly no rubber banding...I hope they dont start tightening it all up and bring rubber banding back..

what patch???

I tried it again tonight after not playing since launch day. Still like all the things I liked then, it just doesnt feel on rails, like how wrong defending an go if you dont temper use of sprint, enjoy how dynamic counters can be, how tactile sprinting is, the weight (ball physics are not very good, amongst other things)...but I got lots of stuttering and littering, espcially when in control of a player. Have you had that?
Yeah I’ve noticed glitches in replays but I play on custom cam zoomed out so not as noticeable on PS5 through a 4k tv. Had 2 really enjoyable online games last night with guys who can play the game. Felt so fresh compared to pes 21 online- both games were a battle.

Playing night matches with winter setting seems better.

The lighting looks better that way.

Playing on summer starts the match was late sunset weather and the lighting looks dull asf then.

The system is good, but having to move sluggish player, with poor response times, makes it an effort on its own, not to mentions the automated bully fatality attack L2+X. Sometimes i know what my opponent is going to do, but its so sluggish that most of the times you just go by them, or you stop to soon. The forwards have advantage here, as the game is "designed/sluggish" at the moment. Most of the times goals happens not because your skilled in attack, but mostly because defender just run past you. You can see that if you go running wide and then stop and do a straight line to the midle and you will see defenders just keep running without sense, and without enough response time to turn more quickly.

It´s like playing a football game with people in their 40 to 50s, but people that don´t do nothing for 4 or 5 years. The balance of the game is all wrong for the wrong reasons on this. Momentum and inertia, yes im all for it, but sluggish gameplay, where i´m fighting with my controller, to control tanks, no thanks, for that i play battlefield.
