Muscle Memory is a HUGE deal .. O M G ...

I ordered an XBOX to HDMI adapter from Aliexpress and turned on my Xbox for the first time in .. 10 years since it was modded I have installed thousands of games and just decided to go back in time , I played games that I hadn't played for 20-25 years. . . I made a video with a capture card to test the signal and as a whole how things work and if anyone is curious look here:

The sound is bit odd, but the original capture .TS file all was fine and crisp, looks like after MP4 compression, its screw up the motions, sound and video quality. Its capture on 720p but the Xbox has options for 1080i , but i prefer the " progressive scan "

But why do I say that? Yes Muscle Memory is HUGE deal, even after 25 years something clicks in me and I know what to do. YES i'm not that good that i was as kid but i know what to expect from each command, the same goes for the PES series and why in general a huge part of us have so many problems with eF 2022, all this horrible new mechanics and buttons shuffling in general do not have reasonable logic but also totally contradict our MM. The problem is that the game has so many problems that it is not attractive to make us invest time to train new skills and MM and I do not believe this will change soon, Konami are known to rarely admit their mistakes. Or is it just another proof that Konami is looking for a new audience and wants to get rid of his past, in particular us.

I'm not even downloading or touching this. First time ever but this is just unacceptable. Straight up lie they were taking two years for this and promises about master league and whatnot.

Gone the FIFA route since that has a master league type mode now! Really heavy, solid gameplay so far as well.

You have no idea how much i've did for the community or my C.V. regarding PES as an editor, how much i worked on the game for people playing and for free. And how much i know stuff regarding stats and structure. Way less in terms of graphical but more in terms of database since a long time.
And you coming out of nowhere and gives lessons. Same as the Helio8 guy from i don't know where he came neither.
No one cares what you did modding the game. Like you there’s much people that mooded the game, and worked on it without spilling this sort of things around here.
And for the record I’m just a simple member here, same as you, and everyone else here, not more not less, but who don’t think it’s superior to anyone else just because of some modding. The mooders of PES community are well know for their job and they don’t have the need to come here with bragging right. Like Chris said you don’t back anything you say so… anyone can come here saying they have inside info and spill a lot of things out, stating he has a friend of a friend who knows a friend in Konami that told him this and that, just like the Reddit guy…

but as far as I’m concerned I just resolve it on a nicer way (ignore button) , and I will end off topic here.

From what i understand, all these shenanigans is caused by one man, kimura. If its true that the inital direction of pes was hijacked by him midway, that he proposed this crossplatform thing, he has to go. He is destroying pes.
#kimuraOut

Far too early to tell, and it's been a long time since the Seabass era anyway, there are a lot of producer/managers on the game now and nobody makes all the decisions. Seitaro Kimura has been director/producer since PES 2014 too. (and game designer since the ISS era)

I just say that i've got experience, and deserve respect aswell as another member. You told me about The_Knight, and i said what Durandil said and he was right that's all. You first talked to me as a liar or "you speculate".
Editor? Yes, there's editors. But there's level in editing. You don't really know how it work so i won't explain in big details (no offense at all). There's people who are doing player by player, face and stats, research, and other who just assign a name and give an overall and an hairstyle. I'm the first category, and i was considered as one of the last editor who carried really about details. Editing is far from easy, it's a full time job.
And without editors the game would be unplayable, and with bad editor who can't even create a player correctly the game is also completely fucked up.

Well do what you want, but you were wrong about me. And what i said excactly. I didn't speculated on the thread explaining what i've learn what happened. That's all.

Ignoring is to me the most offending way to resolve a problem, so i won't. Its not to me the nicer way, but the worst, the most disrespectful.

As he says, "You only get one chance to make a first impression." Even if Konami manage the impossible and salvage something from this 'train-wreck', the franchise of e-Football is now too heavily tarnished by its' disease-ridden launch.

Liked this for the use of "disease-ridden".

On the point of first impressions mattering, this is what I said back on August 5th:

Dear oh dear, look at the absolute state of this. They're twisting themselves into knots to try and build some hype.

In general I've never seen so much negativity from fans on Twitter though, they really aren't warming to the eFootball concept. I think Konami are desperate to push an alpha out, even if it's missing next-gen features and resembling NFG/trailer quality, just so they get first mover advantage over EA. They probably believe that if they were to delay the release until next year they could lose too many potential users. I think they underestimate the importance of first impressions though, just because a game is f2p/live service does not make this any less important, if your initial release gets rejected then you might not even achieve the user retention necessary to drive continued work on the project, and at the very least it would take some time to repair the reputational damage. If you think about it, the game isn't even going to have full crossplay or mobile controller support until months after release, so you are sacrificing next-gen potential for something that isn't even there on day one. By trying to include everyone they will likely end up pleasing no-one.

Also funny to go back and see those guys trying desperately to hype the game.

MOTION BLUR!

Played online earlier for the first time and at least there you can pick more teams domestically. Played as the unlicensed Liverpool.

Is it just me or is the latency through the fucking roof online? It was unplayable and I don't remember it being this truck on ice like in the NFG test.

Also, that seamless transition takes a lot of getting used to. Ball went out for a goal kick and out of FIFA habit I was hammering square to skip the upcoming replay/transition, and Alison threw the ball onto the 6 yard box and immediately kicked it to Van Dijk who was inexplicably marked by Ronaldo and it's the cheapest shittiest goal on planet earth.

I miss the PS2 games where strikers stayed the fuck away on goal kicks to give you a chance to play it short.

My problem with this is that they already have. They told us they were making a F2P game. They made a game based on a mobile port. @The_Knight has demonstrated brilliantly some of the areas that have been dumbed down (i.e. ball physics) - a necessary step when you're developing a multi-platform codebase where one of the platforms is literally a phone.

Still, we had to give them a chance, for some reason. We waited to play it "just in-case". We played NFG. It was dreadful. AND YET WE STILL give them a chance. What the hell?

There is no "shit or get off the pot". This proves it fairly comprehensively. There will always be plenty of people who have total faith and will always see a worthy positive, in a broken, fairly unplayable game.

They even told us we're not their "new" audience. We are struggling to "stay together" because so many of us just don't understand why anyone would continue to support a developer who treats us like this*.

We have "given them a chance" so many times that we are just being taken for fools at this point. We even bought that "Season Update" to support this eFootball trash, under false pretences.

*I understand - and am glad - some people see something in the game and still have hope. But I'm glad for them, and pretty sad for us. Because those few will continue to play what is, to a large number of us, a generally piss-poor game - and we will all either be forced to play it because of how terrible "the other game" is, or we will be stuck on PES 5 forever. Which is no bad thing, but for God's sake, look at the tech we have. Look at the potential we have. And it's absolutely pointless.

EDIT: When F2P was announced, a lot of people made the same analogy - it was almost a relief, seeing your friend who's been on life support for the last few years finally reaching "the end" and achieving peace. For themselves, but also for you. So you could move on.

What's happened since then, from my point of view, is that some people have said it's "fake news". They've pulled this friend's corpse out of the morgue and dragged it onto a football pitch, where the disbelieving public have taken photos of it, uploaded it to Twitter and now seemingly half the world is laughing at how crazy it is.

You're sat at home getting over this loss, and suddenly you're dragged back to the mourning stage because some people are convinced there's still a heartbeat. And then you realise... It's going to be like this forever.
Arent mobile processors already as good if not better than ps2 already?

Doesn't that mean they should be able to make something thats equivalent or better than pes 05.

At this point it feels like they aren't even bothering to utilize current mobile hardware to its fullest.

I thought I clicked on the eFootball thread, but it looks like I've stumbled into someone's DMs (and not for the first time, pre-release this thread was essentially a monologue).

To get back on topic:

Hypothetical question. But does anyone believe the amount of general negativity surrounding the direction they are taking will make them question it going forward. U turns do happen.

Will they update the tactical instructions to make them more depth !

At least for the ML

Given the massive amount of work they need to do to make this game even vaguely presentable, I'd be surprised if they have time to develop a ML add-on any time soon. I'd be even more surprised if anyone other than a few forlorn hangers-on would now even consider buying it, given how shallow and over-run with bugs the main game is...yet they still had the audacity to release it. Who's going to pay them for any DLC given the shoddy garbage they seem to think they can get away with. The one saving grace in this absolute fiasco is that nobody has had to pay any money but they have exposed themselves as being perfectly willing to treat us with utter contempt.

The Steam ratings is such a beautiful public humiliation for them. Although I wonder if they care....they'll probably brush this off because their only real focus is mobile and the money they expect to come rolling in from that.

I'm afraid they went too much all-in, like two years of development. A U turn now would be devastating.

Whoever manages the YouTube/Twitter bots is probably being demoted to a janitor as we speak. They didn't have a bot army ready to leave positive Steam reviews, huge oversight.

There's part of me that hopes they don't fix any of the problems in the game - just leave it exactly as it is, as if it's exactly as they intended it to be.

To give Koinami some credit, the hundreds of clips and screenshots of it have brought much laughter to the world and it surely deserves a cult status for being one of the most broken games in history. It'd be a shame to see them fix it and turn it into merely a disappointing but functional mobile game.

I don't think Konami give a shit about negativity as long as they make money. Having said that, given the negativity this time caused a tidy drop in their share price, they might sit up and take notice.

Love them or hate them (and I'm 50:50), EA have already released two patches for the disk version of FIFA 22 and one for the downloaded version since release.

That's what a real company does. How long do you want to bet we have to wait on Konami releasing a patch?

Wonder if we can go back in time back in 2007 (last days in PS2 Era) to ask any of us what would PES be like in 2022?? or even 2020??
I mean come on, the point PES shined is that it used to give you every year what you want AND MORE!
From 2008 and on every year we lose something, back in PS2 era - that old rusted piece of hardware!! - we could select the referee, play as penguins or dinosaurs, own 40+ in game stadiums with the ability to view them alone in a separate viewer in all weather conditions, ability to change overall kit or single parts of it pre-match! where're these beautiful opening game movies? game plan had some complicated tactics in its time without ruining the simplicity of the game to new players! also you could have accurate player names and data in the time FIFA lazy developers would add 1000 team with rosters full of player names like: No.1, No 22 ... etc! .. I can go on forever counting missing elements from PS2 days!

Before PS3 era, I remember PES/WE used to push every console beyond its limits in terms of graphics, content and gameplay .. miss those days!

I think that now the possibilities of defending are more varied than in previous PES games. I like the combination of match-up, tackle, sliding tackle and Physical defending buttons. The ball is more free and I like the way it deflects from a Physical Battle. We have lost the possibility of calling a teammate for pressure with a button but I think we will have some tactics that can solve this issue, now they have focused the gameplay (and the new camera) on one to one duels. I like the freedom of taking decisions while defending depending of the rival player speed, position of the body, distance from the ball.. I'm getting used to this new system (after remapping some buttons) and I'm really enjoying defending.

me from 2007 would think that master league online would be bananas by now

thank you for this shit capitalism, ruining another aspect of human arts
