eFootball (All Platforms)

2 years my ass. This looks like it was ported a few months ago. Maybe they had other plans that got scrapped or they didn't know what to do until a few months ago.
Wait to try microtransactions, I dont think you will find any bugs there .... thats kind of development I was talking about.

I agree with this:

What would i do if i am main game dev?

1. Pull the plug on eShameball

2. Paid all the money there is to bring remaster of best game in legacy (4 or 6). No remake. Remaster.

I would gladly pay full price for just a remaster of PES 5 any day over this f2p joke.

Played the game for about 2 hours (3 matches vs AI and 3 matches PVP), best thing for me is the connection, surprisingly very smooth! I experienced no lag and delays. The gameplay tho is very rough, players looks like they havent developed object permanence forgetting the ball everytime i pass it to them, players seem uncapable of receiving the simplest of pass, moving the players feels like a chore, collision system is still broken and many other that i wouldnt list here. but i would say defending mechanics seem interesting, though it's kinda weird when i play online, others keep backing down jockeying rather than pressing the ball carrier.:LMAO:

in terms of graphic, the stadium and the player models look pretty nice, but thats it. turf looks shit, face expression is still bad, celebration is still bad, cutscenes are kinda nice, but they get old fast, you'll end up skipping it like in NBA2K.

2 years spent for developing this game is insane!

You can't do anything truly next-gen with the gameplay/physics as long as the thing needs to run on and be cross-play with mobile phones.

Whatever they might work on/improve over the coming months/years, they can never turn this into something befitting of a PS5/XBSX.

I still don't enjoy FIFA, and don't think they've done anything truly ambitious on next-gen yet despite their boasts/bullshit (primarily "Hypermotion") but I can't imagine that being able to run on mobiles.

The player collisions + their animations and outcomes are more canned/scripted on eFootball than even FIFA 11's first try at "Impact Engine" on 360/PS3.

It's a joke this is the state football games are in in 2021, and an even bigger joke that anyone (spending £400 on a console and wanting a simulation) is satisfied with either of them. Our standards must be at an all-time low and desperation at an all-time peak.

I don't personnaly buyed a PS5 for football game. 1st was because i wanted something new, i really needed that as i got serious stagnation and issue in my life. To change.
Second, to play the tons of PS4 games i didn't got time to do (at least... 5, 2 i stopped to play due to work, 3 i didn't played at all : GOW, Sekiro, Nioh 2, and i buyed Demon's Souls remake. I got Ratchet and Clank but i'm not a 3D plateformer/shooter nostalgia
The reason : i kept a PS1 no more than a year . It was the time i left video games, but a friend Barber at the time got a room on the back with ISS Pro Evolution 1. Another gotted ISS 98. Well every friends gotted a PS1 and i played a lot at their home, but never games like Crash, Spyro etc.

Then i fall in love with the Dreamcast buyed it, it was the same time as i played massively ISS pro evolution 1 and 2, doing tournament with money etc.
Well i wasn't really geek. I was more the clubber type lol.

And even on PS2, it wasn't my style of game, sorry for the O.T., just that i still got Ratchet and Clank : Rift appears under plastic since a month.
When i will have more time, my work is taking me all my free time (my contract end in late october) i will play for sure. The thing is i like to be "totally in immersion" when i start a game. Well not a sports game.

Still didn't tried the Efootball, but i was surprised to see the flow and physics about the @DuduBR9 goal with construction from the defence.
As all vids i saw was bugs... I was very surprised, because in terms of flow, animtions and all, i don't see at all a Mobile game running it.
It's much more what my football game representation and my heart, my mind is asking to play as a football game. Just that demonstration, didn't watched a full game at all. But i can say it's more my cup of tea, and it's totally a PES.

One simple demonstration of a goal gived me hope for the future lol, but the issue i got with PES is the database. Too much errors needs to be corrected. Fifa database for example is the best you can found in terms of height, weight, positions etc.

FM... Height and weight are practically all wrong, weak foot often too, and like i explained before, there's a system with "0" on attributes and tons of players with it, just the current ability (sometimes not even the position) so in one save those type of players can be a CB with 18 in strength and 8 in speed, 175cm, and another save you will get the same player LMF with 15 in speed/acceleration, 190cm an 68kg, totally random.

I have an answer to all your questions:

MOBILE GAMING

eFoo is literally yelling it's a mobile game. Huge UI elements (like big round cursor to see it better on a small display), removed features, simplified visuals and handling, fantasy buttons like L2 to compete with gamepads... This is a mobile game adapted to PC and modern consoles, nothing else.

Why it is so bugged? Because they don't care about the game now. Mobile release is their priority. I swear with mobile release we'll get decent PC game too.

The question is should we support this mobile port even in decent state? It means from now on every year we'll get outdated game with reduced features due to mobile limitations. This game will always be past-gen even with fantastic visuals...

Would like to give my first impressions after two days of playing. Playing PES since Goal storm.

Although it is clearly unfinished game with LOTS of bugs, I see potential with this. For years PES (2015-2021) is boring for me and level of skill required for these games is nowhere near old PES games.

I like movement on the ball, inertia, game feels more free (I wanted this for ages in pes, and level 3 passing is more free then any other pes), less ping pong passing, lighting in Allianz at night (although graphics is terrible, lighting is spot on).

Lot of things I dislike, will focus only on gameplay because everything else is bad. Defending needs balancing, L2 mechanics is broken (animations aside, it needs to result with more fouls), game needs to be more responsive, passing is slow (although don’t wont them to go completely opposite), online is broken for me (don’t know is it my network connection, Konami servers, unresponsiveness, inertia or a combination of all but it’s almost unplayable for me), etc.

For me player stats and its impact in the game is a most important factor for football game. It’s always bad in the beginning of generation and they gradually improve it over time (2015 is bad and 2021 is ok, but not on level of ps2 games). It’s to early for me to judge efootball 2022 in this regard but it seems that there is a lot of room for improvement.

Would like to add that it’s obvious now they postponed gameplay videos and didn’t show gameplay so they could get more of those pre-orders, and that is terrible, it feels like intentional theft.

Sorry for bad English.

I can understand people who detect some potential on this game but i m totally disagree about the dribbling.
This part is not good. In superstar vs ai you can just run and the left stick is really useless

That’s because you’re used to the laser guided passes. Now on almost every level of pass assistance there is some kind of manual involved(by design or a bug?).

Thing is, the ping pong passes no longer work and that’s a big plus. Now, you need to be more aware of what you do on the field.

Some of the things you guys report as “stupid” from my point of view, happen because you keep playing the game as you’ve been playing the old games. That’s not the case anymore.

My 2 cents on the passing problem…

Things changes. Things don't last forever. It will be a failure, or if it's not the case which i doubt as people won't care about a no-bugs version...
But i believe they will or change again direction because it failed totally, or sold PES (they still own the name) with all the devs teams, or the worst is the game will completely disappear. And they will focus on MGS etc. like i've read before. Pachinko, others Casino machines and Covid... I seriously think it makes us became totally crazy, abandonning a 2 years which became a 3.5 year project and Konami owner boss gives the directive to get a yearly game or everyone is fired etc.

I can imagine, but it's just a scenario, don't thrust a word i'm saying like it's true, just one of the thousand possibility that resulted in the actual situation (except perhaps the project duration). I don't think it's about "they don't care about people, they want money" etc. : it's always been the case, perhaps with more passion before but it's always been, and that's for many companies.

They're smarter enough to know that if you want money, you got to deliver a solid product. I just think it's a matter of becoming crazy, fearing the complete fail of the enterprise, and doing whatever is possible like if it's a matter of life or death.
Because to me, you got to get serious mental issue to make what they've done now.

Btw, to change, about "Mobile", i don't really see that mobile is capable to do those animation, ball physics i saw, i repeat myself but well...
A PS4 game at the limit, not a mobile one.
I just can't believe it's based on a Mobile game after saw some vids, vids by far less "destroying" the game.

I don't think it's NOT possible.
IMO, club licences and production issues are the problem will face Konami if they would do that

The apology is just as disingenuous.

"We have received lots of feedback.." Don't act like it came as a surprise. They knew full well what they were releasing was an unstable and unacceptable state and simply wasn't ready. But they did it anyway. I'm sure they're not THAT stupid to not now this was going to end shamefully.

It reminds me so much of Cyberpunk and WWE 2K20, Games which also of course released anyway knowing full well it was an unacceptable standard.

My question however is, What happened to the strict quality assurance and testing of Sony & Microsoft? Didn't they have to approve the quality of something before they authorise it's release? Or am I missing something here?
This 100%. Well said, Marlon. :APPLAUD::APPLAUD::APPLAUD:

that could really be a good game this year and i really have to say : i like the game in this state, only missing online friendly game for now (against friends)

It's funny thinking that probably some people on the socials that are laughing at the glitches are the same people what used to say just some months ago "go back to PES 6 you dinosaurs lol"
I actually am going back to PES6 (or maybe 3 or 4)! Just call me Culinarysaurus.
Can you still get the option files for these anywhere? I'm not sure I still have my memory cards.

Let's say NO to anything innovative and fresh, if its not working perfectly.

My biggest gripe with the game is that so much of it is not innovative and fresh - so much of the crap from recent PES games is still present. For me, PES21 was nearly a great game let down by huge and annoying flaws - I still see most of these flaws....not surprising since we now know the gameplay is still using the same Fox engine.

After a couple of days with the PC version (expanded) I've got to walk back some of my initial enthusiasm for all but the direction, at least, that eFootball seems to be pointing in.

This Alpha is bad and must be patched asap, or even withdrawn, and let's just wait until November or January or whatever the real release date is.

I was a PES2014 demo lover, but cooled on the full game there and didn't play it until its last patch of the year, when it was a decent game with plenty of good ideas – and it's right there, in that space (patched PES2014) that eFootball, surprisingly, seemed to be pitching its tent when I played it on Thurs/Fri. I was just thrilled that it wasn't the cheap coin-op arcadefest that we mostly anticipated.

A few 15-minute matches with a few teams from the lower leagues doesn't play much different from the Man U-Barca types of games. There's no oomph in shooting (another unfortunate PES2014 trait). Passing is too unpredictable, and the glitches stop being amusing (and occasional) after a while. So I eat my words, chomp-chomp. I do think there's a massive danger that the community reaction will produce an overreaction from Konami though, and we will end up with the feared arcade-em-up mobile PES that we were all expecting.

Physicality and fouls in football gaming I will never give up on. eFootball surprised me, at least, with that aspect of the game (included by accident as a byproduct of bugs, many will say, but I think not).

It enhances the experience so much to have fouls and consequences for reckless physicality, that when they're lacking, it robs the game of a vital dimension. After a lot of time with FIFA22 now it's the one thing missing from that package that would pretty much end the footy game wars.

All other things besides 80% of the gameplay, are trash. Problem is they will fuck up gameplay (as usual) to please all those “gegenpress”,”3 player pressuring” players from 1 to 90. Also, they will try to please the ping-pong lovers and such.

Sorry, all of the above is not football to me. I’d rather have the current gameplay with fixed collisions and “loose” passes, instead of the bullcrap pictured above.
