eFootball (All Platforms)

You can see me as an alien, no problem. But I am actually enjoying the game a lot. Maybe because I knew what to expect in the First place. A game with many issues with bizarre things Going on like a collision system that doesnt make any sense, player running to opposite direction of the ball and things of that sort.

But a part from that, I am loving the movement on the ball. I push the analogue and turn around, I see players making many new Nice toutchs in tight turns, different radius If that make any sense, whereas previous PES games it looked Very one dimantional and limites, all in the radius. Hard to explain.

I am playing on manual as always so possibly that helps to better full the power bar so ball doesnt feel só slow and heavy. If they make passing ar more sensitive to the button press and ball a bit quicker, that should fix It.

The defence command is interesting but a bit of mess at the moment. I want to not chanhe It but Just improve, both controle and player reaction. The L2 seems a bit useless, like players dont start making the movement Quick enough to be useful.

Overall, this game has huge potential. I mean HUGE!

First, they should try to make the PS4 version much better than this pixelated crap. This was embarrassing yesterday:

Watch the comparison video.
After watching the ef2022 gameplay, watch the Pes2021.
To me, after ef2022, PES 2021 looks so stiff, robotic, linear, arcadish. Balls travels like bowling balls accurate like rocket and player's movement is so stiff and rigid.
Comparing faces, in ef2022 faces have better lighting and more realistic eyes than PES 2021 (althought the models are the same)
Finally colors in ef2022 look more natural (at least at certain stadiums) and not that oversaturated in PES 2021.

PC is very pixellated too. No native res, no anti aliasing
Maybe this is the reason that I am actually finding the game quite a looker. Lihhting and Textures overall are good, but some things are at a low detail wich fucks up what is good.

Ps5 version has no issue with res and aliasing. It looks quite decent. Just on auto replay with close câmera that you can see low level details.

there are some fixes floating around, its native for me, looks alright
my issue visually is not the resolution but the texture filtering, its on high in-game setting but the pitch sometimes is too sharp it hurts eyes , and no high refresh monitor support

I think the game should be temporarily removed from each formats respective stores until konami get their act together. The statement they put out earlier gives the impression that the dev team were unaware any issues with the game which is insulting to the community.

I'm not the biggest fan of the game, and find it inferior to PES21 in more than a few ways, but I'm not as critical of the gameplay, specifically.

I think the gameplay is also a step down, but not a considerable one, and could see it growing on me.

But the rest of the package is horrendous. It's clear that migrating to UE4 has taken a lot more work hours than expected, and this game is not close to being finished.

What worries me, as a strictly offline player, is that the game will never be finished. That ML and Edit Mode will either never be released or also be step downs in their own right.

But, even if efootball22 is essentially a demo lacking some polish, I do not personally think it's the worst game on steam. Not remotely close.

It's insane that they didn't unlock all teams for offline. And have training, so I can learn the new controls.

Also, how do I use shielding on offense? Is it mostly for when I have the ball with my defenders?

Most of the time I shield, my players just seem to get pushed off, with no foul being called.

Im super convinced this is a mobile game, Nothing is simulated, not even the whole turning around momentum on the dribbling, it sometimes just happens, its an animation trigger.

Nothing is physically simulated for possibilities at all, or very lowly simulated. Everything is predetermined bull****

The plus is, This could make a very skillbased video game because learn the game = what you get and thats it, The attacking mechanics and the man matching to physical defending, its just a 1+1=2 videogame for the simple mind.

And I dont like that to put it mildly :(

The movement on the ball in pes 2021 is so limited, predictable. There are none of this small and delicate touchs, tight turns.

Graphics are also quite cartoonish in comparison. Pes 2021 is Just a more, way more polished game, but its Far behind efootball in many aspects.

Efootball Just need big polishement on their New mechanisms and more details added to graphics.

Yep. This is 100% the mobile game, upgraded with higher fidelity player models, and given new gameplay mechanics. But it's the mobile game, and lacks any nuance or complexity that used to be the staple of this series for decades.

Moving forward, there are no patches or mods that can make this game anywhere as complicated as even Winning Eleven 9, as it still needs to run on a phone. One solution is for them to stream the game's "brains" off a server so it's always online, the way MSFS does with its textures. But yeah, eFootball is a mobile game with enhanced player models, lighting and new gameplay mechanics and that's it.
Can I just say Konami don’t deserve you.

As a veteran of the series and a life long fan all the way back to ISS deluxe.I’ve absolutely loved your videos and tuturials on YouTube the last few years.Your workmanship and craft is something to be admired and applauded.

I don’t think there’s a developer in the world who wouldnt of snapped you up and had working in house for them in a testing capacity off the back of your work.

Seriously, I'm full aware that people like him is here to sell the game and it's kinda useless to vent on them. But the past arrogance in front of what they released yesterday is beyond ridiculous lol. Especially since now that the tone has changed he posts this:

They are so lucky that they could literally do anything and some people will still cut them slack and justify ad lib.

A better looking apology? :P😂😂

Where is that left side of the screenshot from? It looks like a genuinely nice color scheme, changing the blue to a less saturated and darker navy blue, and changing the yellow to gold, it resembles PES2019 in a way, much better, I wish they'd change it into this, and change the awful font and logo while they're at it.

That's what i mean, You'd think anyone hired for graphic design or a user interface would have some general diploma in artistic vision and license. Anyone and their dog could tell you what is the classier and more appealing on the senses. The violently strong and saturated blue and yellow is just low effort, childish and obnoxious.

I was very critical of the 2020 menu's and presentation when that released but that just looks like Blade Runner compared to this puke.

I'm convinced that last year we saw the teaser (with Messi) of the game Konami was working on for 2 years.

It can't be this game, for me. Even with the tactical instructions that regressed compared to previous releases, shows that that's not the game they were working on. If they were working on this game for 2 years, the ML should be released in this period, not 2022

They will not make money on mobile if this is the game (and it is, they spent >2 years on this, they not gonna fix it in a month)

Even mobile players will go away, because brand is downgraded to mariana trench level.

They should simply say they are leaving non-mobile platforms and that be the end.
2 years my ass. This looks like it was ported a few months ago. Maybe they had other plans that got scrapped or they didn't know what to do until a few months ago.

Don't worry, we don't think you're an alien or anything along those lines, everyone's entitled to their opinion, if no one was allowed to say something the majority disagreed with then it'd be pointless to even have a forum to discuss things in the first place I think.

I can see why some would fear that this situation ends up just like PES2014 did, a game with lots of potential, in which their direction had a full simulation focus, but that ended up scrapped in favor of a more approachable direction with PES2015 and onwards, because of the poor reception it had on its launch due to being unfinished and broken in many ways. I totally get that concern, it'd be a shame if they looked at the poor reception this is getting and thought to themselves that the problem is their direction and not their execution, if they decide that in the next update the tempo needs to be arcade quick, that the response times need to be immediate with the button input and that the defense system needs to be simple to avoid poorly timed tackles and fouls.

Still, I'm not sure what we're supposed to do differently, I think all we can do is voice our concerns, that there are good ideas here and they need to be polished, if Konami interprets that as us wanting a more arcade game then there's not much we can do, we can't just say to them that it's good when they've released something broken, it'd set a bad precedent for the future.

The thing is, at least for what I've been reading on Evo-Web, no one is really asking for the direction to be scrapped for an arcade one, and even outside of this forum really, from my experience PES fans tend to be more into simulation, because most people that prefer an arcade experience think PES is too slow, so they play FIFA instead anyways. What I'm reading around here is mostly people complaining about all of the things that are bad about this build, I know that the negativity might be overwhelming, especially for those that are getting enjoyment out of the game, or see potential in it, but I think the negativity in this case is hard to avoid.

I've played it a little more today, and had more fun than last time, some decent matches, but whenever it was fun, it was the same fun that I got from previous titles, I didn't feel anything revolutionary, at least not yet I guess, the only things I really like more than before so far are their ideas, the idea of a more physical defending system, the idea of making defence more manual, with an actual tackle button, that actually generates more fouls, which is something I've been craving for so long, the whole system resembles PES2012 in concept somewhat and I like that, because I love that game. However, it's all ideas for now, the execution of every good idea they've had has been so poor. All we can do is tell them that the idea might be good, but it needs to be polished, and naturally, due to Konami's track record, our tone will be one of dissapointment instead of hope, and I'd say that this is their fault.

The defence is much more organized and in unity.

Its not like previous PES where defence line went all the way back on desperate mode (so non sense) and midfield was there in the center circle of the pitch lmao ridículous!

I'm a graphic designer, and it took me less than 3 mins to edit the original photo to the one on the left, and I did it for fun and mockery despite knowing that it looks now "better" than the original..
The fact is - according to my standards as a designer - my edit still needs more time and work to be something actually "good" .. which makes me wonder how on earth did Konami approve the original design??!!!!!!

The game is a mess when It comes to feeling in controle of the game, wich for me has nothing to do with making It more arcadey, limited and ugly.

They can preserve the same animations, and movements, but making the animations quicker without having to cut any frame, Just quicker with better imput and thats It! Its done!

The New defend mechanism should also be kept. It also suffer from the same issue of not feeling under controle.

They can make a Very good football game. But I understand the rate and frustration. We are close to octuber when we usualy have a Full game in much better state. Its Crazy what they released. I Just dont want them to bê confused with so much negativity to the point where they cancel everything good.

To sum up better, the reason why I am somewhat happy and hopeful is that It feels fresh to me even tho its on a complete shit state.

Eh. I watched 2 center backs run away from a striker running into the box. So I wouldn't exactly say things are different from previous years.

Here's the reason for their 'apology':

Screenshot_20211001-202913_Chrome.jpg

They thought they can get away with using the 'already in Unreal' mobile version of the game as a base for the new release, instead of doing the serious legwork required to rewrite the console version to work in Unreal. Just fire the visionary responsible for this horrible decision.

What was the name of the lead developer who left the game mid-development?

It's a mobile game on a console package. That's clear to anyone who looks at the game with the will to actually see it for what it is. Setting aside all hidden hopes and dreams about what it could be. It's not targeted to us; we're just a collateral. That's why I won't be playing it more than the only game I did on the release day.
