eFootball (All Platforms)

:)

Just to repeat my midnight post - if anyone wants to get PES 2021 dirt cheap for PC (like 6€ for basic version or 7€ for team branded versions), there's a Midweek Madness sale running for PES 2021 - 8 more hours till it expires

Its even cheaper on PS4...well in my currency 3 EURS.

Oh no. I see how this is going to work, now.

The next release will fix some of the broken-limb animations and suddenly the hangers-on will say "NOW it's playable"...
as i said a few posts ago, it's all pre-planned.

When we get the magical 'newer code' Konami will receive over exaggerated praise for 'working hard to fix the problems'

Been reading through the recent pages....

Hell....after reading the impressions here, I don´t even wanna bother.....

Question: anyone tried the PS5 version yet?
I might tonight....but.....I don´t know......lol

Fair play to Pizzas though, he's properly slagging it off. Using the old "the build I played was way different" excuse but he's not sugar coating this release in the slightest. He's declared it dead on arrival and said "fuck me I have to make tutorials for this shit. Here's a tutorial, don't even bother downloading it".

*THIS POST WILL RECEIVE A LOT OF DISLIKES*

I just played around 10 matches of eFootball on PC.
-Yeah, the graphics are terrible, BUT the lighting is quite nice. The resolution and no anti-aliasing makes the game looks like a PSP game.
-Crowd looks very low quality, indeed.
-Net physics are just non existent.
-Turf texture is bad, or at least it looks bad due to resolution problems
-Yes, there is a 60FPS cap on pc, which kills the smoothness

But about gameplay....
.... i beg to disagree guys...
I quite like the game. I can see the potential and the innovation there.
Let me say some positives.
+ Controlling and mastering R2 trigger gives a lot of freedom to dribble and confuse the opponent. Its hard not to press the button all the way down, but if you focus and experiment with it, it is rewarding.
The positives:
+ Ball feels like a separate entity, and rolls nicely. Pes 20/21 ball's physics was somewhat like a bowling ball sometimes.
+ I liked a lot the goalkeeper deflections
+ Nice player models!
+ A lots of animation and (thank god) animation transitions are added! Movement is much smoother
+ Pace is gorgeous, i think its the best i have seen in a soccer game.
+ I liked the standing tackle, but the unpolished collisions make it look bad and unrealistic sometimes
+ I liked the dribbling and the smoothness of the movement
+ Nice momentum/inertia implementation
+ Shooting is fine, nothing special, but not bad. Low shots are good, try them
+ Overall freedom and smoothness.
+ CPU dribbles with the ball!!! FInally! its not a pass fest anymore!

The negatives i noticed are (apart from graphics):
-Collisions need to be polished... a lot...(tons of bugs)
-L2 in defending needs to be nerfed
-Some awareness issues (players let the ball pass by them)
-Lot of bugs regarding

To sum it up.
eFootball has somewhat a new approach to soccer. It rewards more tactical, slow gameplay. If you are prone to glue the R2 down and constantly and pass/shoot, you will disappointed. To me it's a step forward to simulation.
PLEASE, really please, give some constructive criticism as feedback to konami and not phrases like "Its shit, its a turd"
Try to see behind the bad graphics, focus on the new elements of gameplay.
I know that PES 20/21 is very familiar to you and you are very accustomed to its style and flaws. Animation and controlling players in PES 20/21 is too stiff and heavy.
efootball 2022 gave me some PES 2014 vibes where a tons of potential was burried due to some pure execution.

So, again, please, give efootball some time, try to unlearn the approach of PES 20/21, and above all give some constructive criticism back to KONAMI.

Don't get me wrong, i don't say that efootball at its current state is good, but it is way far from "utterly shit, turd, abomination".

PS: Remember how advanced and next gen was PES 2014 in many aspects (physics, lighting, ball, animations) and after the bad reviews and negative criticism, KONAMI released PES 2015 which was a more playable, but clearly mutilated and more linear old gen game.
Oh don’t start with this sanctimonious crap of ‘it rewards tactical, slow gameplay’. It’s hot garbage. The ball moves at the same pace 80% of the time.

There has to be right? Konami may charge for that though, knowing how they are approaching this game.
Ok so it's not in there now I understand? And "we" don't know if it will come in the future either. Am I seeing it so well? That's good shit. I've only played PES online against friends for years.... :(

The worst part about this tragedy is how Konami just abandoned their community, content creators and modders. Ignored feedback for 10+ years now and decided to pull the plug.

Even guys who created option files and charged us can't even fathom the situation they're in, How are they gonna make us pay a cent for this toilet of a product?

It also looks really bad on their youtubers as it re-iterates the fact that unless you are dignified and genuine with your fans, you will fall spectacularly and become a laughing stock.

Losers :TD:

Taken aback by how heavily he was/is tearing into it. I thought he'd be quite coy about its shortcomings and focusing on future improvements, but nope. Two footed.

seems to me the "proper" mechanics have changed slightly.

A full press of the R2 button, tilt of the analog, then a release of the analog and R2 is the right way to trap the ball.

After that you have to perform the "sharp touch" move in the dribbling section. That gets you the extra yard of space so your players can maneuver correctly.

Passing is still a bit wonky, but you have to get the previous part right to even start getting into it.

I'm liking it so far.

thanks to you guys and the interwebz i dodged a bullet... was downloading the game at around 30% when i stopped the download. add to the fact that i'm on win7 with a xbox one controller so i couldn't even play the game in the first place :LMAO:

So the game is clearly a national embarrassment. All of the presentation, graphics, sound etc. The tactics referring to a player taking a "winner shot", the announcer asking the fans to "welcome back the lads".

But there is the germ of something. The animations are frequently good, if lacking connecting ones. The midfield on superstar can be quite hard to break through. And the game does feel slick at times, the players having inertia, the collisions meaty, the rails in movement have been reduced.

I just focussed on watching Juventus counter me over and over, watching dybala and ronaldo and the third guy, the way they moved so smoothly, freely, unlike pes 21 or even fifa, which is the only game I play these days, if I play anything at all. In these moments, the game looks really quite impressive ie when I'm not in control. If it had the tightness of polish of pes 21 with this gameplay, I probably wouldnt mind it. Wouldnt be great, closer to solid.

There are things missing like jockey, second press etc. If they all came back in, I dont think the game could be said to be dumbed down. If anything, it feels more complex with considerations of inertia and manual shielding. But who knows if they ever will return. And maybe this complexity is the result of underdeveloped game mechanics.

I'm not angry, upset, irritated. I'm not anything really. It's just a massively unfinished game sat there on my ps4. They're fools to release it like this, but I'm still interested to see what comes of it. Maybe.

I think we have three types of PES veterans, those who prefer PES 6, PES 2013 or PES 2021.

Gameplaywise these games are very different, and now we have eFootball 2022.

I think the level of criticism with eFootball 2022 is similar to PES 2014 but I still think WInning Eleven 2014 Aoki Sanourai No Chousen is a great game.

In my opinion eFootball 2022 it's a step forward in football simulation. They focused in create a new control system that allow the player to have total control of the actions a football player can perform on the pitch.

I play PES games since ISS PRO 98 and I find difficult to get used to the new controls. We have to learn to play a new football approach but I think we will find satisfaction in the long run.

I played 15 games on FUMA and the sense of freedom and variety on the gameplay is better than any PES.

All of the people going mad at anyone on Reddit and on here “it’s just a beta, the full game won’t be like this!”

And here we are. Thank god for FIFA is all I can say, and I never thought I would be saying that back in 2005 when I was pouring 100s of hours into the masterpiece which was PES 5.

RIP PES. I’ve got the memories.

All I can say to that is, look at the AI in the following clip. I can't see any hope in this area.

Look at the first few seconds of this clip. When the ball is moving in a danger area, the defenders have no clue. They think all is well.

Even as the opponent charges towards the loose ball, the defenders all start running into their "attack formation" positions. Parting like the red sea.

The ball is in a danger area, yet there is literally NO AI code to tell them so.

At best (and I mean, *best*), it's on par with how basic 2021's was.

It's "run to this pixel and stop" whenever possession changes sides.
