eFootball (All Platforms)

For them to make a ton of money they have to keep gamers interested in the game from day 1 and for many, many months after the launch and honestly I doubt they can. A F2P model is incredibly difficult to keep people interested in. It could all go horribly wrong for them pretty quickly.
I guess it'll work (keeping players interested) while they are drip-feeding the game modes, but yep, not sure how they can make decent money on this long term. I play very little online though, so maybe people spend a lot on coins to get better scouts on MyClub for example. I doubt they will reset everyones team back to base level at the start of each season, so not sure where the incentive will be to spend money to continue building your team.

biggest thing in the early versions was always that the Players felt unique, now they have much more running animations, but they all feel the same to me when controlling them, CPU is even worse, i cant remember one dribbling CPU Messi tried against me

They had big plans with PES 2013, i remember Ronaldo had his unique shooting animation, not just Freekick, but everything was gone the next year with Fox Engine
21 is ok in that. To me, at least. I’ve been playing leagues/tournaments with 4 teams: Gamba Osaka, Atletico MG, Corinthians, and Sweden NT. So I can speak of their star players. Diego Costa feels like Diego Costa (scoring many scrappy goals and moving like himself), Ibrahimović like Ibrahimović (dominating really hard! in my only game so far he crushed the defender from behind to score a header), Endo like Endo (dropping deep in midfield and making excellent passes - big difference in passing with him), old Ronaldinho feels more or less like old Ronaldinho should feel (I added him to Atletico MG) - kind of slow, but I still manage to do some tricks on accident, you can tell that there is a lot of cool moves to do, I just don’t know how; moves like Ronaldinho and dies quickly, at least with pressure tactics. Same for others - Hulk is like Hulk, Vagner Love is like Vagner Love, Willian, etc. Play style, physique and how they move/look and their strengths and weaknesses. They feel different from others. PES 2018/19 it didn’t really feel like that.

Is it a game that can be enjoyed even by beginners of soccer games?

Mr. Kimura: Yes. Of course, we've made a lot of adjustments so that beginners can play as well. We've reduced the number of buttons required for operation considerably.

Players can use the L-stick for intuitive and easy control, and passing and guarding can be done with a single button.

This is a new title with a fresh start, and I hope that even those who have never played a soccer game before will enjoy playing it.

Looks like a huge development team 😂😂😂😂 NOT

Kimura: "We have a lot of things we want to do, but it would take a lot of time to create everything and then release it. We want to deliver the game as soon as possible, so we'll start with a release on September 30. After the release, we will update it while listening to the feedback from users. So, like the Sagrada Familia, this is a work that will not be completed, but will continue to be built upon.

two years are not enough!

Hands On

In the presentation, the main "evolution on the pitch" of the new "eFootball" from "Winning Eleven" was explained, including important points in game play such as "the ability to freely touch the ball" and "tactics without touching the ball," as well as various system improvements including the new camera and ball behavior.

As we started to play the game, the biggest "change" we felt was in the defensive controls. The theme of this title is the evolution of "one-on-one" play, and the more players who like to play soccer, the more they will feel the realism of the tactics when confronting a player with the ball. In addition, a "pass-cut" command has been added, which was not available in previous Winning Eleven games, so it is no longer difficult to reverse the offensive and defensive strategies if you read the opponent's attack carefully and input the command.

There are also many additional elements to make the one-on-one phase more exciting, such as feinting without touching the ball, and commands to make use of physicality in both offense and defense. However, it was difficult to master all of them in just a few hours of playtime, but I was particularly impressed by the new "Duel" camera.

As much as I hate pretty much everything about this game, I actually love all the colorful shit in the menus and stuff. Pastel purple is my favorite color.

Great! One comment in favour of the menues.
Enough for Konami to insist on them "due to positive community feedback".

(No offense to you or your post, Rex, just kidding mate!)

And yet they took away contextual shielding based on stats and made it you need to press a button or else it will be took off you even if your Akinfenwa getting muscled into by Griezmann 🤔 One bit of gameplay defo not to take from Fifa along with removing the 2nd press Fifa style.

The game is just a mish mash of a mobile game and Fifa it seems.

As Adam said we found a “new crowd”.

A massive knife in the back to the fans who supported the game for 20+ years and spent countless hours out of love editing it to make it better. Always fascinated me that skilled modders do ten times job Konami can do in making their game better…

Funny thing is if Adam didn’t work for Konami he would be singing off the same hymn sheet as us.

Sad state of affairs. The only hope for the future for ‘our crowd’ is in the new endeavours we are seeing outside of the eFootball/Fifa titles.

Seen footage.

Not quite as bad as I expected. I love the movement and animations which make it look like a new engine. There so much potential here, this was the big flaw of the fox engine they have really come out good for this new unreal platform engine which enhances what was from the Fox Engine code.

But its not finished, bugs galore which I did expect!

Tactics seem to have been simplified. off the ball the AI doesn't seem to do a lot which renders each game a mess even when ignoring general bugs. But this is just a first opinion, will need much more content, better footage and to actually play it to really give a clear judgement where we will be at this year.

I have to understand all the AI awareness off the ball tactically in offence and defence from PES 2018-2021 etc.. needs to be rewritten and will take time even if not deliberately dubbed down. The AI only really understood like 3 speeds of movement on these games whereas this has a proper fluid gradient of movement for all players on and off the ball.

I think I will be right in that this maybe similar to PES 2018 where it will be 'playable late October/November and a decent, possibly nice game next year January. (I'm a optimist after all)

Long term i see some good things to come from this gameplay, short term will be interesting to explore this but i expect big problems and game breaking bugs and issues. We all have the right to lead an inquest to why the hell this game is so unfinished after apparently 2-3 years of work. Why do you still have flaws like all the players being rendered the same height in cutscenes and this is supposedly 2-3 years of work?
yeah same height during goal celebration..
Agree with you regarding movement and animation.. Glad they dont mess with the pace..

Not gonna lie: the news about 'Manual Dribbling' coming to eFootball has completely shifted my mood from disappointment to joyful, optimistic and 100% looking forward to switching to eFootball when it's out. I spoke about it in at 54:56 of my PES 2021 review as a suggestion to fix dribbling by making it more analog:

Manual Dribbling in eFootball mentioned here: https://gamer.ne.jp/news/202109080001/…

"It is now possible to control the speed at which the ball is kicked out by analog operation. You can control the ball with a small touch by gently tilting the left stick"

Basically, the degree of tilt of the analog stick determines how fast you move with the ball. A gentle tilt translates into a gentle movement with the ball.

How far you push the ball is determined by how hard you press R2 (instead of how many times it's tapped as I suggested).

This is so awesome and pretty much fixes the weakest aspect of gameplay in PES which is dribbling. The other changes we all know about fix the second weakest part which was defending.

These two improvements alone make me willing to make the switch and just wait for the updates and mods to fix the look of the game.

I don't think 'PES' and the essence of what we have will die guys.

I just think its going to be a poor, disappointing launch at first but as the game fleshes out we will pick off from there. The more simplified controls I'm not exactly happy about, thing is with this new engine and movement and dribbling system, people need to really consider how this changes all dynamics which we were used to from PES 2018-2021 so as long as we keep on at PES team to put important elements back in, in time we should get the depth we deserve, it's important we keep on at them for this, don't stop.

FIFA is FIFA and it will always do what it does, while I wish UFL and GOALS well and hope they make something which is better than what we have, PES Team has been around a very long time making football games so its in our best interest these guys actually succeed and give us something good.

This game with the modding community we have should be good regardless of Konami's intentions. Remember the team want to make the best game possible. What we are seeing with this disastrous launch now seems to be something which has all lead from a shareholder changing the teams plans halfway through their initial development. It would almost make sense in PES team wanted to initially focus on a unreal game just for the PS5 and max out the graphics and all and build the cross play initial to combine the PS4 and mobile using the Fox engine PES 2021 gameplay. Then some shareholder comes in, points to some graphs showing mobile user numbers and microtransaction profit and demands mobile to be the focus.

I'm unhappy with how Konami have treated PES team. There is going to be a long inquest into what changed this development cycle.

Exactly!
Im optimistic about the gameplay.
At least is something (kind of) fresh and new.
I can sense a lot of freedom and randomness in movement.

Ps:
I Tried PES 2018 again. Its quite different from PES 19/20/21.
Totally different approach, i like it and it reminds me of the gameplay of efooball22.
-Players and controls are way more responsive
-Movement and animations are much smoother
-Ball is more bouncy and rolls further on the pitch, quite like ef2022.
-Collisions are more simple, but better

lets say the dribbling gets better... to your liking (and i like all fuma gameplay)... could you overlook the flaws that probably weight out the pros, like "30:1"!?
i cant anymore! i just cant!
if there was one aspect of the game better than 2021 (havent seen it yet) i couldnt go on with this. they do make like a lot of things worse and i am supposed to happy about 1 or 2 things that got better!? makes no sense at all to me!

you know i value your input A LOT! dont get my wrong here... maybe i'm a bit grumpy today... but the facts are here: (by the looks of gp videos) more stuff got worse, not the other way around (AS IT SHOULD BE!!!) ...and i dont get that. 2 freaking years... ^^

2 extra cents:
a restaurant, me in it being hungry. i order steak, potatos and vegetables and they do taste good.
the cook actively talking to me: "in 2 weeks im gonna prepare an even better steak for you sir"
me answering: "i m looking forward to that because i love steak, thanks!"
2 weeks later im in that same restaurant, eating the same steak. only difference: someone already bit off a part in the kitchen and potatos and vegetables are cold.
edit: the other games version in short (knowing not all is good): restaurant. i eat steak. come back next week. same steak, only minor change in spicing (personal taste may vary) and some extra side items for free to try.

I'm not saying it's ok but we all to have accept that PES as we knew it is dead. And we can either accept that and try eFootball as a new game or just leave it alone and continue to play old PES games. There is no point in being angry att Konami for lying and implying that they were developing a next gen football game when it's clear they somewhere along the line have scrapped that and gone in another direction, it won't change.

in the end, its just my personal opinion and it sure translates that i wanted more. more for football video games, more for the series, more for the fans!

i know where to find my personal little place of football heaven... so i'm good overall. but what couldve been...!? ^^

I agree mate, I was estatic when I saw the Messi- teaser as well. I just mean that it's fruitless to keep being angry, we are not their audience anymore and for my own sanity I will stop seeing eFootball (dear God that namne SUCKS btw) as part of the PES family and as something completely else. :)

Here's what I don't like about this whole mess..

For all the talk about gameplay features and so on, the whole look and feel of the game pretty much sends the signal that in the long run, they don't care about the offline experience anymore.

The message sounds like this "Look at these colorful menus! Look at all the online multi-functionality, micro-transactions, and gameplay features. We will release a payable Master League just to appease you old schoolers for a while, but we don't really care about you anymore. It's all about attracting a new crowd now."

That's what I think pisses a lot of us PES fans off. We offline gamers are being given essentially, the cold shoulder. And it feels like we're being cheated off what we loved about PES to begin with. I just played PES 2013 Master League. That's a game that is catered to the offline gamer.

The good news is that people will continue to mod the different PES versions for us offline gamers for years to come. I am sure of it. But the future of the franchise looks bleak. Hope I'm proved wrong. In anycase, I will remain loyal to the community's offline mods and edits. Take care bros! Will go back to my other PES topics for now!

People are entitled to opinions irrespective of your perception of how rationale/irrationale they may seem.
At the end of the day this is a forum full of die hard long term PES fans most of whom have been here since the inception of the series.
Discussions revolve around PES and its current state.
There is no point trying to change peoples perceptions or try to instill an air of positive thinking when 99% of the news has been a travesty in all fairness.
There is a very slim chance the game might surprise us, but as we know from recent experience and from looking at the poor gameplay videos, we should not be so lucky with Konami involved.
Also as the game has a 'new crowd' albeit a crowd focused on online and mobile gaming, then I feel the game will never cater for those looking a good varied offline experience, and will change as time goes on to reflect the moods and sentiments of the 'new crowd' whose voices are mostly heard on clickbait Youtube videos etc...

The reality about it is that if you'll continue to eat at the same restaurant you'll be charged for every potato or vegetable and the steak will came after some weeks (smaller with parts of the steak missing) served via some cheap dish in a shitier way. In top of that they'll imply that you'll get a special mystical plate for an extra tip but could be everything... After all that nonsense if you're not happy they'll tell you that you are free to go and you shouldn't come back because they'll have some new set of clients... but after some minutes they'll call you again and they'll propose to you that you should definetely reserve a new table... and the same cycle repeats again and again... (f...ing twats).
