eFootball (All Platforms)

Let's take a look at those tactical advancements during the last 17 years:

From 3D models polygons positioning perspective (PES5) -------> in depth photorealistic, sensor scanned player motions perspective (eFootball):

Not defending Adam's response there, because it's way too short with the guy he's replying to, and doesn't really address the point.

But: that PES Monster guy is a bit of a prat lol. He blocked me before now, over just some really benign and polite response to something he was saying about PA levels or myClub, or something (I forget exactly now). I mean, he's exactly part of the "new crowd" for the sake of whom the game is changing, or at least part of some incipient class of players on console who helped convince Konami: this is the market to pursue.*

There's a few "content creators" out there who already made the branding switch in their handles from PES to eFootball, and I think it's quite telling really. While, simultaneously, they try to critique the game. There's fan accounts who have created their own special e- based logos etc. It's really quite laughable to me!

*I should add: ultimately, it is not the fault of players that Konami is changing course. I don't mean to imply that. It is the fault of a disgraceful industry, certain tech capitalist trends, and the lack of serious regulatory bodies and governments willing to outlaw the forms of exploitation these billionaire companies actively pursue. That said, there's a certain Schadenfreude I experience watching the big myClubbers complain about this direction, because it's really a logical extension of the way they approached the game, the things that excited them, etc., before now.

Will the Immobile version from €football also availilble on Jamba? Download with amazing ringtones? 🤭

Just on Facebook and this post appears from the eFootball account (spoilered because it's massive):

X0XlCDH.jpg

Notice the "contact seller" bit and the message button... It's a Facebook Marketplace post. Not a standard one. (Insert joke about the game being listed on eBay as used, 99p starting bid etc...)

I mean, it doesn't affect the game in any way, but it's just one slapdash fuck-up after another. They have so obviously cut departments down substantially.

Also sad to see all the obvious promotional posts being delivered by community pages on social media, from places that are supposed to represent us. But it wouldn't make a difference if we all rebelled and refused to join their PR events anyway. 450 million downloads of the mobile game as of today. It's over.

If I did that at my small regional not-for-profit organisation I'd be mortified.

This is a really good reading and i guess one of the biggest problems of PES since PS4 (PS3 already had some but not at the extent we have now), along with poor AI and stats meaning almost nothing (do to script as well i guess). And i guess that it was this mentality that brought games, specially the games of football to the place we are today, with Efootball and FIFA 22. The false pretext that games have to be inclusive, to everyone, and everyone have a chance to win are killing the sports games. There goes the times were PES was all about EASY to PICKUP, HARD to MASTER.

After reading this i can remember exactly that this was the case, when i played PES 3, 4, 5 and 6 (and all other from iss 98). I used to play this games nonstop, and i was good at it. I used to play with the same 9 or 10 friends of mine who shared the same taste for videogames, and i already knew all of their weaks and strongs, and depending on the mood of the day i sometimes loose and sometimes win. But i knew that when i lost it was fair, it was because my friend was better than me or because i simply made the wrong decisions while defending on attacking. All i know is that when we started playing we were seated on the chairs or couches far away from the TV, and the moment some started loosing, our chair/him/me, would imediatly go to one meter close to the TV, like the concentration was now 110% on the game hahaha.

But this just to say that when some of our friends that did not have PS2, but liked to play, and just play when we invited them to our houses (which implies they did not have 1/20 of the gameplay time, of the ones that had a PS2 and the games), it was so but so easy to win the matches for more than 10 goals, that we had to restrain ourselves, just so our friends didn´t get upset and don´t want to play more, or leave angry with us, since tha mockery from all other would start, as a good PES tournament should be :)

But then again i used to go to tournaments, more in PES 5 and PES 6 times, and there is were sometimes i learnt that i was not that good and sometimes i struggled against people that used strange tactics, but knew how to play the game. I once played againsts someone who played with 4 CB 2 FB 2 DM and 1 MC and finnaly one CF, he was chelsea, and only with drogba in front e managed to do quick counters and cause havock. I remember lossing the first game 0-1 since i could not reach is area, or get in a good position for shooting, and i just kept attacking, and without having the perception of it, i kept starting going forward with all players, attack in full RED, and in the middle of the second half boom, drogba receives the ball, in midfield line, and managed to get past my defenders, and just scored a lonelly goal. It frustrated me, but it was fair, i didn´t managed to score because i was not patient enough, because all my shoots were getting blocked, and i could not choose the best formation to deal with his. It was a fair loss, the guy just defended to well, besides having and using that strange tactic, e knew how to attack. The next game of that guy he just lost for 4-0 since his opponent just managed to score an early goal and he had to change tactics so e could score an equalizer, and that just doomed him.

Resuming, today that is almost impossible to do, and sometimes even in games were i have 20 shots on goal, shoots that in PS2 time with the right stricker i would scored 15 of them, in this games of PES nowadays if script do not want you to score, you will not, unless a stupid rebound shoot enters for some strange reason, and then you have to struggle even more, to keep your goal closed since the game will open lanes for the other team and make your defense like headless chickens bumping into each other, and delay your inputs, so the other team can just tie the game. The only solution we have sometimes its to play the ugly game of possesion with the back 4 and pray that one of your passes dont take to long to get out of the foot of your defender, os goes right to the feet of the striker of the other team.

Sorry for the rant. only 20 days to go, to check on what we will get for the next 5 or 6 years.

I've followed that mentioned user on Twitter. Well worth a follow...

Isn't it weird I still remember a wonder goal by fecking John Carew from when he was in Valencia? It must have been PES 4 or 5 maybe. I'm 40 years old for God's sake. Sorry for being OT.

Not weird. I remember - sometimes quite vividly - games played and goals scored on the PS1 games, let alone PS2!

lot of old lads here… so you are always on topic, somehow! ;)
I remember Carew as well! Looked British, played for Norway and his name sounded russian when spoken out in german!

@Mathgamer Please, I beg you to stop posting things like that here. It's nothing personal against you by the way.
But I've already had enough with the nonsensical posts by Lygaard. Now this Luthor guy. I'm absolutely tired of attention seekers.

Someone posting a picture of their shoes at random or their passport it's hardly related to this game. Doesn't matter if he works at Konami or IKEA.

We need to be smarter and filter what really is worthy to be posted here and what's better to be left for the Twitter guys to "dissect" or play their little guessing games -

"Oh his passport color! Must mean Bordeaux is licensed!!! OMG". Cut this crap.

I think you missed the more sinister undertone here. It's a FB marketplace post not by mistake, but by design, because they'll start selling coins to their hoards of mobile users through it when the time comes! It's easier to post about a brand new Iconic moment player and have the ability for the suckers to buy the coins to try and get them directly from that post. :P

I forgot to mention that they might have been called by Konami to test the eFootball demo.

This post really upset me, not because I disagree with it, but it just made me feel really old!

As if the latest trends in gaming hadn't already had that effect on a milder scale.

I haven't got the faintest idea what it's about.:))

Well i remember lots of goals from PS2 era, exactly how, But not so sure if it was for example 2003 or 2004. For that, i need to check, except if it's an international competition, of course it's not yearly so we remember it way better.

Like my reference goal is the Gascoigne from 1996, one year after i saw my favorite club won the UCL for the first time (as it was 95-96), and i wasn't even that much interest by others teams than Italy. My english vocabulary was just 40 words at the time, but just saw that goal... England became my 3rd (after Belgium) international support teams. Well, wayyyy far from Italy as i grown with games watched with my father since i was able to understand football.

Thanks Gazza for that. But i won't lie, i hate many players type in England NT, aswell as i loved them in around 2000-2005 era (like super dribblers with nothing classy at all who keeps the ball too much such as, you already know who i'm talking about... Sterling. Hate his playing style, as strong as he could be > Rashford all the way)

Any opportunity to air my unpopular opinion that Gazza's volley against Scotland was a mishit.

No tin hat required.

Speaking about classic football, let's forget for a moment about €Football and finalize the night with some cool compilation from the past...

Enjoy !!!

I still remember the Hleb's header that practically gave me my first ML title in Pes 5 in the direct clash some 15 years ago. Not so weird after all.. or maybe we all are lol.

I understand bro, if i was Scottish... I would practically said "he did it without real intention". And sometimes, that's a bit what i think lol.

But one thing that i would like to restore also with Italy finals in 2006/
-Cannavaro didn't touched Malouda. No penalty as it's diving. I rewatched it a thousand times, there's nothing.
-The Panenka of Zidane was barely missed on 2006 and was ugly. He gots BIGS balls to do it on a final in counterpart. As well as i liked him, the best play he's done is against Brazil. Italy defense and midfield closed him to do his tricks.
-Materazzi, with or without the provocation, aswell as i hated him as he's alway been a provocative interist, was the only one who scored a goal in game and not a penalty/false or not/ on that match. And probably the MVP of that game.

Also Lippi for focusing on an extra-training on shooting a lots of penalties, sometimes with an handicap. We lost so much games/even finals on those sessions in the past, no penalty isn't always a lottery, just looks at every players shoots.
France/Italy was the two biggest rivals on that era.

Things passed, i'm far less hainous (well they were with us and mocking a lot, every "specialist" or old footballer for no reason > Italian people loved frenchies...) against them now. Well, the last WC they won was so weird, i don't have words to explain it. France was a "physical machine" with speed, strenght, stamina, + Pogba the exception (every teams needs a playmaker, more them than any others at the time).
But they deserved it, wasn't a fan of their playing style but well, it worked, better than with Benzema on the team with a play more lateral, less central oriented. That's one of the reason it didn't worked so well this time. Also less counters.
I was so happy very happy to see Benzema again because i love the player...

But it was +- 8 years ago that he would have been re-called, not now.

Sorry again for the OT. Well, when i see some 1 phrase of rage (that i understand) about the game, and the infernal loop about some stuffs i think i've readed at least 10 times... Sorry, but a bit of good nostalgia
