Ever heard of sliders?Makes me cringe looking at comments of people wanting 2k to make football game.
Fifa is closer to real football than nba 2k to real basketball.
Yes it has some high quality production on graphics and overall presentation. But gameplay is whack with all crazy stuff they implemented last 4-5 years. Also the game isn't so great looking anymore when you see how players ice skate across the floor and animations aren't that smooth as well.
2k14-16 games were really great though , I'd say in line to classic pes games on depth and fun of gameplay. But 2k17 and onwards they changed gameplay philosophy from realistic-sim like to arcadey casual experience.
Yeah FIFA 08 had some PES DNA. It was pretty damn good. A bit of an issue with responsiveness but still, pretty good for a FIFA game.Agree completely. Good times!
FIFA was pretty good around 2007-2011 too, we had FIFA 08 which I loved at the time, FIFA WC South Africa etc.
It's all been downhill for both PES and FIFA since.
Mate I’m exactly the same!Same...
The future is me going between all of the previous iterations switching between each when I notice something that pi**es me off...
It has how my football gaming habit has been since PES 6 which is madness when you think that was 15+ years ago...
It's a <<free>> half-game mate. and even that makes it not any betterIf I was to pay for a football game, I'd want THE FULL GAME: game modes, full leagues, an editor.
It must be me not understanding marketing, but then again, why pay for a «new» half-game when you have the older PES to compare (and get) all the missing features?
I never play with any of those teams. But looking at Juve roster this year looking like they're fighting for the 5th Serie A position, i will perhaps take them for a try.You can play offline exhibition matches on release but only with the 9 teams.
Wait until they decide to bring back PES 2013's magic boots for BAL (if BAL is still a thing).Wo
Won’t come free probably cost $5 for a kick variety pack and I’m not even joking
I am actually starting to wonder if Konami are holding features back deliberately, so they can have more frequent updates.
I was surprised to read mobile players progress from PES 2021 would carry over to eFootball.Yes. But in a year's time it becomes 2023 and the online teams are reset. Kaching.
Fifa 09 and WC10 were the closest EA ever got to PES levels. Fifa 08 was the turning point though and many of us ditched the dreadful PES 2008 for Fifa. Fifa 22 beta has finally surpassed PES finally on ball physics only took them 28 yearsYeah FIFA 08 had some PES DNA. It was pretty damn good. Those graphics look dreadful, Is it running on a Nokia 3310?View attachment 118385
This is what we waited two years for 😂
I think @Chris Davies said , there was a guy in EA devs teams, with real vision, back at that days about creating something quality and decent for the fans/customers. A vision that is not compatible with our modern days standards. IIRC he was responsible for the EA FIFA resurection after 2007.Especially WC10. The 09 have it, but no invidiuality and you could've outrun a player too easily.
But WC10 man... It was super fun. To play etc., it's like another type of Fifa, i don't know that game got something in more than the other.
Like if they builded it "relaxed/no pressure" and got fun to create it. And it was pretty balanced and ball physics was pretty PES5ish
There's a guy , NellyGotBored on youtube and he does Podcasts. He had a podcast episode with I think one of the developers of AOT and that guy knows the stuff and ins and outs of the Gaming industry, If I remember correctly, the developer said that the reason why EAs games and quality nowadays is so poor is because No actual good developer or experienced one goes there now, EA is only a stepping stone for new/young developers looking to get in so that later they can go on to better and bigger things, That probably explains the stuff about all these bad Fifa games.I think @Chris Davies said , there was a guy in EA devs teams, with real vision, back at that days about creating something quality and decent for the fans/customers. Sorry for OT.
The only guy i remember was David Rutter. He still on the devs team at the same place i think. Just that he changed his mind for the upcoming versions....I think @Chris Davies said , there was a guy in EA devs teams, with real vision, back at that days about creating something quality and decent for the fans/customers. David rutter i think was the guy. He was the one who introduced 360 movement, physics (impact engine was crazy realistic) and animations, everything was there to represent the next gen while pes was still stuck with their old engine 08, 09s and 10s was where fifa left pes in its dust.I think @Chris Davies said , there was a guy in EA devs teams, with real vision, back at that days about creating something quality and decent for the fans/customers. Maybe was that guy, sorry my brain memory is a peace of crap sometimes. IIRC again that guy was a real admirer of the PES series gameplay until PES 6. I won't say more, cause maybe i recall BS false memoriesThe only guy i remember was David Rutter. He still on the devs team at the same place i think. Just that he changed his mind for the upcoming versions....
But there was another one behing WC2010 if i remember well, they gived more freedom, bringing something "special" for that version.
PS/ Not sorry for the O.T. at all (me too wants to bring something special, never saw before on the forum)
It would work if everyone had the balls to do it not just a select few. Dont tell me it wouldn't work when there's vast amounts of evidence and precedent of it working with various amounts of industries and companies.lol, let's be real here. Boycotting efootball will not work. It's like shooting at the sun with water gun.
The game-changer was 1997’s International Superstar Soccer Pro – follow-up to the well-received early PlayStation kickabout, Goal Storm, and namesake of 1994 SNES title International Superstar Soccer. Developed by Konami Tokyo with a new 3D graphics engine, it sought to challenge Fifa by offering an organic, improvisational experience rather than something tightly structured around specific moves and tactics. Where its rival encouraged fast, thrilling goal-fests, ISS slowed things down, rewarding patient approach play and crisp passing, facilitated by a groundbreaking approach to tactical variety. The game included nine in-match strategy options such as zone press and overlap, emphasising the idea of simulation over arcade-style action. Plus its side-on visual presentation looked beautiful. “So smooth you forget this is a video game and actually feel like you’re participating in a real match,” cooed Absolute PlayStation.
JUST to keep it ONTOPIC, compare this guy's (Paterson) words, with Kimura or the EA devs that give interviews and insights in our days.Even EA’s employees were wowed by their rivals’ excellence. “PES was a massive influence in the beginning,” says Gary Paterson, who became Fifa lead designer in October 2005. “I don’t think there was another sports game that created such varied, emergent, emotive gameplay back then. I loved it.”
Paterson combined the lessons learned from PES with his own instincts, which had landed him a promotion from Fifa manager. “I was focused on creating logical systems that reflected what I knew of football, and that would generate the range of outcomes necessary for a dynamic experience – where no two games would be the same. We improved the sophistication of the ball physics and rewrote how the goalkeeper saved the ball … I also focused on replacing random elements with probability curves, based on context.”
Doesn't get any better post that either.Hey, as someone who is still enrolled in a Computer Science Degree, I take that as an insult to all the projects I've done until now....
