eFootball (All Platforms)

The whole thing is heart-wrenching. Every effort so half-arsed.

The website's colour scheme that any amateur web designer could see is painful to look at.

There being so little content, they can't even half-fill the menu bar - and the titles in the menu bar not being capitalised properly.

That "Shressi" thumbnail on the preview video.

The "What is eFootball" statement that reads like a cross between a Star Wars intro and a hipster restauranteur telling you what their nonsensical "cooking philosophy" is. It all began with implacable determination... What are you trying to "sell" me? A game, or an Audi? What is this dross?

Stuff like "create your Creative Teams", which sounds like it's from an education piece for children. "Who's in your Creative Team? Are you using your imagination?"

The weekly admission of how basic this game is. Fewer team styles. No player instructions. Less AI. Fewer controls. "But it's not a mobile game!"...

The linesman in the centre circle...
...and the fanboys defending it on Twitter.

Also, have you noticed they're now calling it eFootball 2022?
There's your "seasons" setup that means for "eFootball 2023", they can reset all your online squads and make you pay for them again.

It is so evident, so blindingly obvious, that they are scaling back development massively.
Every department. Every promise (this isn't a new game, or a next-gen game, it's a worse game).

Every day, they kick the corpse again and tell us: "Look! It moved! It's still alive!"

It's all just so achingly sad.

Its sound like an absolute horrific title in the making here. Piecemeal modes, and even game mechanics!

This is a mobile game in all but name, quite clearly, lets hope it tanks so it bins off those idiots who love gambling on mobile. They are not real football fans at all.

I had actually been trying to retain some level of optimism that this would turn in to serviceable and enjoyable game somewhere down the line, but this honestly all sounds god awful. I'm absolutely convinced that they shifted towards a completely different design philosophy halfway through the build of a real PES 2022, I don't see any other way this could be such a barebones release.

Like others have said. This isn't PES, that's gone.

This is a free game they are making with a mobile, cross-platform, online focus. PES ended last year, hence the definitive name change as well. This is efootball.

In addition, - this is probably (for the target audience specifically) a pretty good offering for a "FREE" game. I didn't think of this from this angle myself as a LONG time PES player but I've been looking at the comments and a lot of mobile players have been are saying "Wow this is great for free"

I'd rest easy if Konami answered this question....

Are next gen offerings based on the mobile game or is it based on an updated/worked on PES 21 or is it just built from scratch?

I played PES 2021 on mobile yesterday and it is truly shocking. I cannot believe that the same mechanics may be used for PS4/5 iterations.

Given that the game is cross platform to mobiles I cannot think of any other way that it would work.

1) A lot of people believe this but Kimura has said himself this was planned since 2 years ago, e.g. from the IGN interview:

"We started planning this move roughly two years ago to coincide with the console generation transition and changes in the market environment"

2) There's no reason a change in philosophy would necessarily result in such a cut down, dumbed down release. This can only be a combination of incompetence and cuts to the development budget.

I'm still laughing at the people who thought NFG wasn't the game, that believed the Reddit LARPer, that constantly said a secret next-gen version had to be in the works, that the trailers showed the mobile version of the game. The list of coping mechanisms was endless. I'm sure the secret next-gen version will be revealed any day now though :LMAO:

"*eFootball™ 2022 for mobile devices is planned for release as an update to the current app."

so....if eF2022 mobile is just an update of eF2021 mobile, and eF2022 will be crossplatform for mobile, ps5, ps4, pc etc,
SO.....IT MEANS...that.....

We are going to play an "updated" version of ef 2021 mobile on Pc, Ps4, PS5, Xbox1 etc.

Yep I pointed that out months ago. It's been obvious for a long time this was a mobile game at its core.

This is a mobile game in all but name, quite clearly, lets hope it tanks so it bins off those idiots who love gambling on mobile. They are not real football fans at all.

That's the best case scenario. I really hope it crashes and burns in the most catastrophic fashion. Sadly I think there's enough of these mobile morons out there to make the game profitable.

Let’s be honest, how many of us will be playing this heap of crap even a month after release?

I’ll play it once just for the LOLs but you just know it’s going to be awful.

What's"Tour Event" all about? Seems like some kind off offline tournament against the A.i. Sounds fun playing against the same 9 teams for the first month or two...🤣

Yes. But in a year's time it becomes 2023 and the online teams are reset. Kaching.

I dont see the point since its not an annual release anymore and it will get just a roster and kit update next fall with a DLC.
I dont even see the point why am i even talking about this game at all :D i just dont even care. Im gone crazy most likely.
