eFootball (All Platforms)

I feel there's something wrong with the quick counter clip: anyone else thinking that the keeper should've come out in that situation instead of staying there halfway between the line and the attacker doing nothing and conceding a goal on the near post like that one?

This clip I mean:
And noone notice that huge step Muller did over the line? xD

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/...nimations-and-even-kicks-wont-be-in-at-launch

For example, the new control ball trapping feature is only available post-launch. "Loads of dribbles and body feints are also available with intuitive commands," Konami said. "These make every duel an exciting moment for both attacker and defender."

A new feature called "sharp kicks", which comes with new animations, also won't be available at launch.

"Sharp kicks" are special kicks, such as sharp crosses and fast lofted passes, that take more time to execute (you have to charge them, it seems). In the video we see an example of this: a dipping shot from outside the area by Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The PlayStation 5 version's use of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers also won't be available until a future post-launch update.
They're taking the absolute piss.

You know what? I've grown up with ISS and it's still like an old friend to me.
I desperately want it to be good again (even if I deep inside know that it won't happen) just I feel attached to it, no matter how much it has changed over the years.
Im the same bro. I’m just hurt, so apologies if it came across the wrong way

That is unbelievable! They are making Very Basic stuff sound like "New" features that are comming through updates.

It is all fragmented and they Will be giving the game piece by piece. I Wonder If New grass Will come too.

What the hell, they have nothing ready after two years, and yet they are giving Basic gameplay mechanics in future updtaes that are all foxengine based.

I really Hope UFL turns to be something special even without licenses but great editing tools. I want Konami to FAIL HARD!!! I am Sorry, guys.

They removed the teammate press button. I don’t think I like it.

Just saw it... Damn, it's the year of "no defense assistance" or what? Don't get it. Double tap on X to standing tackle was good.
Don't mean what they said about Physical Defending on L2, perhaps it was on previous title but i never used it.

Not only but you'll be obligated to run with R2. I always switched to R1, also always disabled the "analog run" on Fifa for example.
It seems that you can't have some of those "features" if it's not on an analog trigger.

Teamate press button was there since Iss Pro FFS. It NEVER caused problem, why removing it? No one never complained about it, there was even the possibility to make 2 (even 3) teamates helping manually before, and it's too much assisted now?

Please. I'm far less confident when you remove a 20 years old button which always worked, and replace it by something who was there since PES 2012-2013 (Double tap /Standing tackle) which never cause any problem controller in hands, and no one ever complained. Or perhaps i don't read as much shitty feedbacks on Twitter.

And yes it seems completely unfinished. But it's like an obligation to release something before 2022 at all cost like if their life depends on it.

Based on the excellent tweet from Gamereactor:

4K reactions. Game's getting great publicity already, only Coinami could have achieved this!

Anyone registered the www.efootball.co.uk url?

I think the thing that stings the most for me is the fact that Konami said that they were taking a year out to build a truly next generation game and then this is what they come out with. If this is the best that they can do then God help us all

PES died a couple of years ago and we have all been living in hope that Konami would bring it back from the dead and they haven't. Lets all remember it for the game that brought this community together and not the absolute shit show that it has become

Nothing will ever remove from my mind the thought that everything was changed somewhere between mid 2020 and early 2021.
It correspond more or less to the dates, where some insiders said that they've decided to change producer (in the middle of something else, probably PES 2022). And said that the older producer was more opened but the new one got his own idea and a bit stubborn.
I don't know if it's that Kimura but probably... When i've head that speech. I presume he decided to trow something in preparation and impose something else. Like cross-gen for example (is even "Mobile" could be associated to any type of "generation"?)

Sorry but to me it's the opposite, not only i enjoyed more the game since PES 2017 than any other on PS3, but tests given better notes since that time, check which games are out an on on metacritics for example, just compare the notes with the only other football game who was there at the time.

It's more the EA game who dies some this current generation than PES. You may take one or two exception, like "and FIFA 16 then?" yes, it's the only good one. Like for some PES 2013 is above any Fifa on PS3... To me it's not, and it wasn't at the time, people wanted a new engine at all cost as Fifa PS3 was so advanced in that area in comparison...

So it didn't died really a couple of year ago at all. They've missed a generation (whatever PES 2013 fans may say) and restarted to became credible 5 years ago with PES 2017. I could've say also even PES 2015 at the time to some people's view at that time, but with the recoil it's one dimensional / in comparison to what that could've done with PES 2014 basis.

Crazy how this PES 2019 trailer looks graphically better than today's gameplay video.

Absolutely.

For starters it was a finished product, then it was recorded on a single console (PS4 i assume), then they had Weedens..

Its just amazing how they are so incompetent in so many things. Showing lame footage from different consoles (i assume, otherwise its even shittier) mixed all together
Showing the same bored to death Pique..

I just can't believe how little effort they put in their business

Well, I was very dissapointed and bummed out earlier today, now I'm a bit more relaxed and level headed, so I'd like to do a breakdown of the trailer, I don't like being negative and I'd like to always be as fair as possible, so I'll give Konami a chance.

The first thing we saw was the color scheme and font. I'm about to give an opinion that is likely unpopular, but I don't think Blue & Yellow is a combination that is doomed from the start, just look at an away Sweden or Brazil kit, it can look stunning. The mistake here was the choice of shades, they're both too bright and saturated, if they went for a Navy Blue and Gold Yellow, similar to PES2019, it would've been lovely, as it is now I don't like looking at it. The font is horrible, it's both ugly and unprofessional looking, I'd have loved something more sophisticated, or at least less exaggerated.

Next we get to the look of the game itself, I'm not sure if it's just placebo, but this looks better than the last trailer, however it still looks like a regular PS4/XBO game, unless they have a better looking version and aren't showing for... reasons? Either way, it looks ok, but that's dissapointing because the jump to Unreal was supposed to make the game look photorealistic, not just "ok". One thing I have to give them credit for is that the lighting and colors look better than vanilla PES2020 and PES2021, it's less saturated and the turfs are more realistic and easy on the eyes, however it still looks worse than PES2019 and night matches to me look poorly lit, as if the clubs are trying to save up on the light bills. Player models look decent, the kits aren't overly baggy and players themselves look more fit and less bulky, though again I'd say that it's still worse than a previous title, in this case PES2018. They've taken some steps forward, but in departments where they had previously taken steps back, so it's still dissapointing in a way.

When talking about the actual gameplay there is a clear focus on 1v1 and skills, which makes me believe this will be closer to FIFA than the previous titles were, I'm not sure if that's gonna end well, but I'll wait for it to come out to judge them on that regard.

Physical battles are a good thing, it's a part of the sport and nowadays we have the best technology ever at our disposal to replicate it faithfully, it looks good so far. Then they mentioned reworked fouls, could this mean that we'll finally have a more acceptable number of fouls? I don't know, all they've said it's that it's been reworked, but they didn't mention in what way, so that's concerning, it could go both ways, but hopefully we can have fouls like PES5 again, or at least like PES2011/PES2012.

Regarding team playstyles, I'm worried about the gameplan screen we saw, hopefully that's not all there is, but it could be considering it'll be crossplay with mobile, and I imagine that for mobile it'd be ideal to have a simplified gameplan, which wouldn't be a good thing at all. Also, this whole team playstyles thing, I mean, what an odd thing to show in a trailer... like, it's not like teams couldn't play possession or counter attack before, there's nothing new or interesting about this, it's standard... at least they've mentioned off-the-ball AI, hopefully it means that it'll be given more attention than in FIFA. Also, new controls, this could go either way too, but it looks like they're trying to make defending more difficult, which I'm ok with as long as it's fun, and as long as they don't remove basic defensive controls.

Duel camera, it's not for me, and it looks like this might be the only addition regarding cameras, which is dissapointing, we still don't have a camera similar to FIFA's Tele or End-To-End and that's a bummer.

The circle around the players, I'm ok with it, you'll probably be able to turn it off just fine, and it gives me ISS vibes which is welcome.

Seamless restart isn't a huge deal, but it's still good to have, I like this addition.

Now, things like the physics, player movement and weight, footplanting, it all looks similar to previous FOX Engine PES, since it's probably still exactly that under the Unreal 4 hood, in one way that's dissapointing, in another way it's fine because they did have a solid core, so I'm sure this will play at least decently, the speed of it also looks much more realistic than FIFA for example, so I'm glad they've kept that aspect about previous titles.

On a last note, I didn't mind KEEP ON MOVING as much as YOU ARE POWERFUL, so another step up.

Well, that was the trailer, and while there were decent things about it, it's still a huge dissapointment, it looks like at best we'll be getting a standard PS4/XBO FOX Engine PES with graphics worse than PES2019, menus which are an eyesore, simplified tactics and a F2P model... I mean, sure, it might be perfectly playable, like most FOX Engine PES titles were, but that's not what we were promised, when they skipped a year and showed that Messi trailer, it felt like they were going for a revolutionary, photorealistic, generational leap, and this isn't it.

If I had to give my excitement for eFOOTBALL a score, I'd give it a Disinterested Piqué out of 10.

Yeah, it was a real trailer on PES 2019, as the game is nothing close to that level of lighting on any plateform. The other gameplay trailer looks a bit more "in game" with zero effect. And man, those ugly shirts players are wearing... I don't get it, they looks like they've got nothing related to football, more skateboard or stuff like that.

Edit: but my biggest disapointement to be honest... Is the controls. No more teammate button/function pressing, really? Replaced by something that already exist and works well (standing tackle double tap)?
That's always how i played in every game. One teammate pressing, the other i controlled manually and pressing at the right time.

Well i doubt about it regarding the teamate pressing, it's not related to control or whatever, it's even easier with than without in terms of global defending.
Then, explain to me the swith on R2 analog multi system thing (analog and trigger on mobile then?) which makes the controls a bit... Complicated (well not not easy controller in hand neither mobile in hands, about the "feeling" and all)

It's just a forgot or a dismiss for no reason. There's removed stuffs in on side, added stuffs in the others. So i don't see the controls simplier at all.
But the opposite in fact. It's just "messy" with no worldplay.

To me, it's nothing mobile related, but just changing for changing, for giving the impression of fresh/new things by just deplacing or removing some buttons/functions, no other reason. It's like that since forever. On practically every game i played who got a sequel in fact lol

Edit: but removing the teamtate pressing button, and replace by sliding tackle (the older system was super simple no one gotted problem with sliding double tap) is i think something just to say "hey, it's not PES 2021 neither ISS PRO anymore, it's Efootball".
Looks more like a "personnality" choice, means that they wants to gives the game a different soul than the PES series.

You'd have to be out of your mind to consider dropping any cash on this garabge or taking up hard drive sace with the free 2 play mobile demo.

Well i'm just remember of one important thing : there's a new stat one in particular who is exactly the definition of "defensive teamate help": in french it's called "Engagement Défensif", which you can translate to "Defensive Involvement/Contribution/partipation".
Now i get a bit more the logic of the removal (Doesn't mean that it please me, not at all) of teamate pressing. As it will depends on teammates stats to help you or not, and i got to agree that there's something very logic behind it:
Pirlo for example, doesn't press, but Gattuso will. With the teammate help button, you could've press a player as much with Pirlo than with Gattuso : in terms of representation of reality, we can all admit that it wasn't logical. Pirlo was more static, and waiting in front of defense, staying in his area.
Gattuso was positionned everywhere there was a possible challenge to help defensively his teammate.

Now, instead of pressing a button, you will get the player who got higher stat in that area pressing the opponent and the other with low stat in that area won't press.
Let's say : for a manager game the system is good. Well for a casual football game... I don't know, but it's hard to represent if you're free to press with any player you want. The game would completely block your player to press lol. It would be completely wtf.
They should have found something else, there's already the quality of the pressing regarding defensive stats....

For the one who didn't saw what i'm talking about, here's the post from the beta, the guy is showing new stats and skills (sliding tackles etc.)
Example, Gnabry got low Defensive skills, 67 in "Defensive Involvement/Workate etc." i don't have the exact English translation.
https://evoweb.uk/threads/efootball...pay-your-respects.83625/page-183#post-3732202

I repeat, it's not that i like the change, but in terms of AI i get the logic now, didn't understood at all why. Now it's clear. Not sure that i will like it btw, but let's say : i'll see controller in hands and how that stats may influence the "likenesses" and of course, the gameplay from the AI mates. I don't think i'll like it to be honest. But i can't say there's no logic behind it... Now it's an "action-sport" game, so we all wants to get more control of our team.
Assistance too... Well enough, or i'll become crazy hahaha

I'm probably beating a dead horse at this point, but the PES 20 Demo had a good solution to people just spamming press.

Press is also helpful for trying to get the ball back late game when you are behind. Just seems like something that makes sense to have in a football sim.

Yes, we're talking about double pressing. Normal pressing is still there (hopefully)
But if you decided to choose Pirlo and press all the match with him : it remains the same, my example was about player you don't have direct control.

You can always found a contradiction a + and a - in every choice. Sometimes more + than - sometimes the opposite.

What was, in PES 2020 demo (only demo?), the solution for not spamming the double/triple pressing? I don't remember at all.

Well on PES 2021 i don't found pressing as much effective as it was before on higher difficulty, i got to tackle more (standing, but also sliding). And double pressing is a bit less effective than before. So they downgraded pressing effectiveness, but tacles are. Well i got many fault and when i play agressive the other team play the same way... So weirdly, i don't have that "no fault" issue. But bad referee decision still.

Personnally about efootball, i will follow (even if it was already decided in fact lol) one member purposed : not playing it at launch. But later, when it will be "restored" or finished if you want. I don't think it will before 2022. I'll be playing retro and less retro (Pes 21 to PES 3 lol, i already replayed too much PES 1 and WE5FE some year ago; as it was both my favorite in terms of challenge even with the restriction. Also the one i probably played the most, so very good memories cames back)

In PES 20 Demo, pressing would more frequently lead to a foul. Double pressing more so.

You are right about only the latter being absent. The late game example I gave was with that in mind.

I'm sympathetic to the people who play online and find it less fun when somebody spams double pressing. I can see how that could get annoying. But I'm strictly an offline player and have never had a problem with the feature myself.

I never got a problem neither. In the worst case, if you forced the guys to press to much, he would be exhausted as he don't have the same stamina as CMF defensive oriented and all over the pitch.
But i just explained the logic behind the removal of double pressing : now it will depend on teammates stats. I'll see if i will get or not a problem with it... When i will play the game "seriously" in 5-6 months, at launch it will be like a Beta, even in Autumn.

I don't get it, MLS is under Fifa exclusivity no or it has expired?
But they've managed to gets MLS All-stars from the MLSPA? Well, whatever.
