eFootball (All Platforms)

Can't complain, it's free. Konami is giving much more for free, than EA is giving to people who pay (at least on PC)
I like player's movements. Hopefully it will be moddable.
And based in what we already saw from FIFA, PES seems a little more promising this year

I'll refrain to comment too much on the actual gameplay until I play it (though I'll say I'm not particularly optimistic about it).

But I felt like the presentation was not at the level it should be. The color scheme is hideous, and the trailer had way too much text on the screen at once. I'm still not even sure what features will be there at launch.

Do we have an ETA on when after launch Edit Mode will be made available?

I'd be amazed if the next gen release looked like the majority of footage shown today. I think there's next gen snippets in there but they're not confident enough to use anything more than a few seconds.

There's something Konami gets wrong since the beginning of days: in football, the defensive stance of a team is rather rigid or "positionally focused", adapted to the attackers positioning, while the attacking side tends to rotate and get out of positions in order to generate space for passing, moving the ball, or dribbling. In PES, all off-the-ball-players seem totally unconcerned about the positioning of the team in control of the ball, always covering empty spaces. There's literally no off-the-ball marking, teams are so wide and long it's ridiculous. Sure, the attacking players makes runs n stuff, but it's all pre-programmed, always forward, never to get rid of a marking player: there is no need to.

Come on mate, that's a bit extreme. There's criticism and then there's going way over board like this. Please be more restrained otherwise you are just reinforcing our negative image
Yeah, give Seitaro Kimura some slack. His entire marketing team quit on him when they saw what pile off F2P sh*t they needed to put sprinkles on, so he had to do the editing and copywriting all by himself. Poor fellow.

Rumour has it, before they left, the team deliberately filled their whole MAM with only the worst screenshots and clips just to proof their point.

Neither FIFA nor PES look like proper next gen games. FIFA still looks like ice hockey. PES looks decent and I might check it out at some point since it's essentially free.

My goodness the ball resembles a kids float away ball with a magnet inside. Had low expectations but still managed to be underwhelmed.

Excuse me, but the trailer clearly stated that "Ball movement became even more realistic, thanks to a partnership with a research institute".

They don't actually specify which institute, so it could be one that specialises in researching the mating habits of dung beetles.

Yeah FIFA looks bloody dreadful again, I won’t be touching it.

Free to play PES eFootball 22 and retro PES games for me from here I think.

Honestly all this will hopefully change when they move to unreal engine 5 early next year. So I’m not gonna completely lose interest just yet.

how is sharp kick a new feature while it is already in the game? trippier and pavard come to my mind who do that kind of shot as shown in the video

I guess the takeaway from all this is how much we've been lied to. It's hard to swallow.

After however many years this game has -allegedly- been in development, they weren't prepared for anything.
Graphics seem unfinished. Gameplay seems unfinished. Even promotional footage was done last minute.

Nothing will ever remove from my mind the thought that everything was changed somewhere between mid 2020 and early 2021.

Don't worry, I wasn't upset lol.

I do agree about using new methods of rendering results in unpolished result.
But What I'm also trying to say is that certain design choices like tight kits, big buttocks, dumbed down cloth physics [Unreal Engine 4 can do decent cloth physics btw] and bad looking grass texture are something that isn't really a result of engine change.

It simply happened cause their high iq brains thought "yep this looks nice, me loves some fat buttocks" :LMAO:
Ah yes, about choice that's another story. Sometimes it makes no sense really, and you're asking yourselve Why? In fact for nothing lol, just a design choice for a bad taste man or team. Or a "don't care" simply, i think that option is a bit more realistic lol.

I talked about the "no choice" or "feeling obligated" when there's a new technology/graphical system, to turn on it and forget your old stuff... Even if you own stuff made the whole thing looking better.
