eFootball (All Platforms)

I'm all but convinced this is what we're getting:

1) PES 2022 F2P in September. I think Konami are going to try to go the Fortnite route - make a free game that anyone can play and really try to push that to everyone and "build hype"

2) By the end of the year they will release an offline next gen version hoping that the free to play fans will buy the full version.
Posted this about 4/5 hours before the announcement - all the news seemed to be heading this way. But the actual news is even worse than this.

PES has some found memories for me on a personal level.

i met oone of my best friends back in college because of this game.

i knew him from my dads friend.

We use to play PES almost every day. i would either go to his house or he will come to mine, unannounced by the way, just popping round to play some PES and hang out.

Knew him for a while until he passed away a while ago when i just finished uni and all :(

Man, he would be pissing himself laughing in his grave seeing this trailer!!

I have also made lots of friends here on this forum due to PES.

Such a very sad day really if you have been on this forum from day one and had been plaing PES all this time.

What are some of your memories with PES?

Man I remember playing pes 5 on the ps2 with a really close buddy for hours and hours on end

Now I can understand all their movements last years and all silence about pes 22, it was not a great bomb football game we were waiting for expectations confirmed

PES 2021 suddenly becomes extremely important. The base gameplay is excellent, so hopefully the community keeps supporting it and tweaking as they see fit.
Yeah but way too much teams to update, and on PS4 issues with minifaces, and most important Presets and licenced kits. If only they gived us the option to change it... Well, presets it's not that i don't care, but it doesn't bother me to play with some players i've remade face in very high quality, looking from every angles: in game it looks okay. But Hair... It's hard.
If we get efootball mobile .cpk, we may open it and changes stats, etc.
Whatever. I will try to make the 20-21 perfect, by correcting all their mistakes first.

My only hope is that efootball is like a PESlite unlockable by DLC, then no problem for me about database.
Now for the rest.... It's a PS4 game physically and graphically (still better than a bad PS5 game)
Looks like they didn't ended PES 2022 in time, needs another year and they were obligated/decided to release that crossplatform thing and focus on a "mix" between the new and the old gen "efootball"...

I still remember when I bought my PS2, bought by accident a Winning Eleven edited by We Vendetta, all leagues with chants, uniforms, boots, everything. I miss these days. F.

I'm still thinking: tonight they will announce PES 2022 :D and this eFootball is just the spin-off of the PES series
If only mate. In my world we would wake up tomorrow morning and find out that Seabass has joined 2K games and are working on Soccer 2K23. I meant to say though, did you see the scoreboard!! Absolutely shocking design and colours. (MMB has since mentioned it). If as i suspect the PC version is going to be very hard to (if at all) fully edit. So if that's the case then it's best left alone.
Look at the bright side.

This year, everyone in this forum are equally mad at the game. We all have the same opinion this time. Previously there were clash of opinions but now we are all on the same side. We all got kicked in our nuts.
I agree, even some of us willingly opened our legs, and knew the kick was coming, but it still doesn't help that rising pain in the stomach. :D
Silver lining is that it will only be one football game as we know it in the future ,maybe room for a new franschise to step in?
Track record though ,one Basketball/hockey game ATM.
Like i mentioned above. Rocko, quick!! tie a message to one of the gulls and send it to Seabass!! (come back all is forgiven! Head to 2K games).
Are you listening 2k?
And did they actually lie in all the vagueness? :)

These are "whole new levels" ... just not the ones we dinosaurs would like
At least if we cannot fully edit 2022 then we have enough clever people like yourself (if willing), who could really take PES21 to a previously unknown level. Already PES21 on my PC looks Beautiful.
ATM that is the only positive i can take from this.
As ever though Zlac i am very thankful & gratful for your massive work over the years. :TU: If it's the end for PC editing though, then that's OK too.

This really is the end of an era for me as PES was the only game I have bought every year since I got into it. I'll never forget walking into my local gaming store here in Sydney and purchasing PES 3 on a whim with no background knowledge of the game at all.

All I knew was that I loved football and was sick of playing FIFA so this game looked promising. The second I installed the game and saw the intro video I was so hyped and after playing I was absolutely addicted and have been ever since.

Since then life has changed so much in the last 18 years but PES was always a constant. In 18 years some family members and friends have unfortunately departed this world, the store I actually first bought PES 3 from no longer exists, girlfriends have come and gone (thankfully one stuck around and became my wife!) I've since changed jobs numerous times, but god damn PES was always there...

Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

I've always felt like something like this COULD happen to PES eventually but I was REALLY hoping PES 2022 would be a last hurrah and be something great like 13 or PES 5/6 because then we could mod it for YEARS.

instead it's really the end....I'll still wait to see what they say about offline only because some of the pre-match cutscenes don't make sense for online matchmaking.

If this wasn't Konami one could be excited about the prospect of a offline committed DLC but even if we get one it will be an after thought unless they see crazy sales from it.

4 was the standout for me, although it was more arcade-y than 3 & 5, it encouraged end-to-end, fast-paced, attacking football.
First version will all leagues on it, complete. It was outstanding at the time. Arcade yes, but a bit less than WE8, probably the more attack>defence so less balanced with WE10 from the whole series.

Ok, tech people. Is it even possible that you have a game that is built with the next gen consoles in mind and then being able to do the exact same things on a mobile device?

In that IGN article he seems to say that. But isn't he just using twisting his words? I get that it might be possible graphic wise but gameplay mechanics? In my mind you have to skip a lot of possibilities from the next gen console to make it work on a mobile device but I'm no tech guy soo...

Well... This will always take place in the most beautiful corners of my life. As the child of a middle-class family, I can't forget my father's return from his business trip with PSone and Pro Evolution Soccer 2. After that day, playing this game with my twin for at least 1 hour before going to school in the morning made me feel like I was in Alice's Wonderland.

In time, I was enthusiastic about editing the game, started as a patchmaker and stepped into the profession I have today, namely graphic designer.

No matter what, you were beautiful with all your mistakes, dear game. You will never be forgotten.

RIP.

WE9 the hardest, in which midfield game/midfielders were the most important. Many interceptions.
I remember how we complained about it when PES 5 was out... It was still one beast of a game with some recoil, but in comparison to PES 5, much more "direct" for passing. Some small adds btw so

Technically you can. Basically what you can do is for mobile you let users download a cloud gaming client made specifically for PES and they play game through the streaming client. Takes less space but requires great connection.

Konami are trying to appeal to the East Asian market more than the European. The amount of posting they do on social media about the "Iqoniq" Esports tournaments, myClub and PES Mobile baffles me. I guarantee I am not the only one who couldn't care less about eFootball "Pro" and "Open" tournaments.
I am not gonna lie, you are right. Ican assure you that KONAMI is targetting rich Saudi kids - and sorry for saying that, it might be offensive but sadly it is the truth - I have been involved in some MENA discord server for PES expecting to find some interested people in editing and options files, but all I have found is discount codes and pre-paid packs. They want to reach the two big Arab YouTubers: Sayed and Abufallah in order to promote the game aaand make profit of it....
This series as a whole was built on the Gameplay Master League and Edit Mode functions.

The gameplay, particularly from the PS2 golden era still holds up today, although the last two games (2020+2021) weren't that fun.

The Master League concept was iconic, hours were spent trying to achieve promotion through Division 2, and we developed bonds with fictional players such as Stremer, Minanda, Espimas and Castolo (or in my case, Njorgo) throughout the way.

And if it wasn't Master League that I was spending my time on, it was the hallowed Edit Mode. The mode that allowed you to let fly with your imagination. Wanted to create your old school team? You could. Had a certain player you dislike and make them bald and fat? You could. How about you create yourself and you have 99 on every single stat? Arrogance to the next level, but you still did it.
You have just accurately described me and a lot of other people on this very thread. From my personal experience I have had more fun in Edit Mode than I have had it in the real life. Master League is an iconic innovation specialized by PES only. It feels like a betrayal stabbing in the back not to include any news about ML for the next game. I am convincing myself to keep my expectation but honestly, I feel like ML will never come back to the game again...
Still, I play PES 3, 4, 5 and 6 often in my own time, they're timeless classics.
I think I'm gonna open a thread specially for these editions if anyone wants to share their moments or want to revive the good old fun...
