EA SPORTS FC 26

Unfortunetly you are right. Played my first matches this night in early access. The magnetic balls on the feets of the AI is really over the top, even for a first release of the game. ANd the movement speed in authentic mode I played makes me fear to try the UT Gameplay mode. I also got this goal against me by the AI. I upload it without wanna tear EA in pieces but what the f... are doing Manuel Neuer there. I am tensed about Day 1 Patch next week, so I don´t take it so serious for an early access. or should I? I played FUMA on world class difficulty and authentic Gameplay mode. Match ends 2:1 for Leverkusen (AI). I tried the game with hands (penalty) on. Was a mistake. 2 hand foul penalties are given by the ref. I scored with Kane and Patrick Schick of Leverkusen missed the pen by shooting the ball in the crowd. wtf? A longer video I will upload later that day with more gp content.

Seems again modders will not retire this season. :-)
The base Game vision by EA is clearly more worse than last year. The Player movement is horrible fast by all sliders default.

I honestly cant believe how bad this game is for a game in 2025! In my first game i had a player make a tackle, then begin a falling animation which then changed to another animation which then switched to an interception and a pass animation and then change direction 180 degree all while his feet never touched the ground with no physics at all. How can 6 year old PES with mods still be better than this billion dollar game?

Can't believe there are exactly two decades between EAFC 26 and the release of FIFA 06. Not in my top 10 football games as my favorite, but its core was about enjoying football.

Such a great intro:

...fluid on the pitch, no twitching or skating, AI doing what's supposed to be done in a sports game; overall just on point football experience:

Again, released 20 years ago...

I was not a fan of the way PS2 fifa players turned and move (not a fan in general, to be fair), yet you watch this video and you realize that even 20 years ago Indeed, for how simplify it was compared with the same years Pes, turning and stopping a ball still looks way more natural than the critters on drugs with magnetic feet we have in this fifa's era! Absolutely unacceptable.

Spot on. Even if its not as realistic as PES 5, it still tried to capture the essence of football. Just in a more arcady way than PES.

And it was a time, when the developers had a vision for their game and they went with it. Of course FUT is also a reason that changed, but we did not have influencers or "gamechangers" back then who complained after losing one game. Nowadays the game gets changed every two weeks, so the influencers and other players can still spend money on the game.

But I have a feeling that the players/people were also way smarter back then. You bought a game but did not like it? Guess what, you went to the store and returned it. Nowadays players think that every game has to be exactly like they need/want it to be. And if its not how they want it to be, they still play it, but complain online about it.

Bravo - exactly what I've been talking about. A half-deflection leading to a ball the player has to move out of his way to go and get.

How is that missing in a football game from 2025? Because of these "competitive" players, who are dictating what they want (to win) and forcing a terrible experience on the general public.

In FC the ball goes to the players, rather than the players going to the ball, and it's so obvious it kills any hope of immersion.
Man I use to love how chaotic football game use to be. The chaos on sending a lob pass or a cross into a box and you never know where the ball ends up. I miss the chaos of football games a lot and it has been missing in FIFA since FIFA 16 and missing from PES since 2017.

Edit: Honestly if there was a harder version of PES 5/PES 6/WE9LE, i would end up playing that for ever. The game has just gotten too easy for me. That's the only issue with that game.

Oh very much the same as the beta, mate - an improvement in many ways but still frustrating moment-to-moment.

I tried my first in-person multiplayer game earlier, on Authentic, and God do the headers make me sad.

Literally. They make me so sad. Every header feels, and looks, so completely physically impossible that any immersion you managed to build up pops like a bubble.

The ball changes physics on a whim - with headers it's a balloon on a string that flies pixel-perfectly to target. When it's back on the ground it moves at a rate of knots.

The ball is never free - you never half-intercept a pass and create a free ball... It's physically impossible. You intercept it perfectly, or the target player receives it perfectly.

The physics, and the trajectory, all have "forced accuracy" to make the gameplay slicker, so there's no consistent "feel" where you know what button press length will result in what power... because it's all automatic (even on manual).

The ball is genuinely more on-rails than it is in most of the FIFA PS2 games. For as long as that's the case, I'm out. It's still enjoyable, but not as a football game - as something in-between.

They are going in the right direction, but they've only just turned the car around, and they're 100 miles from realistic yet (and I just don't know if they will have the remit to even go as far as modders will take this game, let alone go further).
searched out this post so i knew whether to pursue this any further.

'maybe next year'

Yeah, know what you mean. I made 4 additional matches today and experimenting with sliders to as an attempt to help the Players on the pitch having a break, because this run-run-run and fast turning moves must exhaust them a lot. But obviously they have the "Power" to go on without a break. I played a lot of older FIFA´s the last 4 weeks since I uninstalled FC 25 4 weeks ago. Played FIFA 17, 18. Not the perfect games but I clearly saw that EA was couraged into kinda creating a bit "authentic" Gameplay by having a half way normal turnaround of Players and not every Player doing the same movement as the other. But current Gameplay feels really like a swarm of fishes swimming simultan to their next fish without beeing different in animations.
Where will the updates bring the game this season when the base currently is to kinda fool the Customers? In that state I can´t go over the 10 hours-Trial to buy the game for full price. I am a little bit sick to just hope that modders can make the game more playable. This " 2 Gameplay modes" thing sounds obviously again like an simple promotion thing to let the People who are interested in a more balanced and realistic gp become the feeling, now they hear on the audience, let´s buy it for a really last time and give EA a chance. Jerks.

I was literally halfway through my first match, made some subs in the second half and the game had carried on either though I had paused it!!. It then put on subs that I hadn't selected, then the team management screen had a blank squad, and then it crashed.

Great work EA lol.

Konami have such an easy win to gain back a fan base if they improve the graphics of eFootball, and add single player modes and edit mode, but will they do it...hell no 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

The authentic gameplay looks better, but it won't convince me for a AAA game in 2025, it's a disaster that there are so many low-quality things, the ball physics, the player movement are much worse than the efootball mobile version. In other words, just copy/paste every year and that the PS4 version from 17 is a much better game than this crappy game.

I'm waiting for serious competition to make a capable football game gameplay, not like UFL, which copies FIFA (eafc) more, and when and what year it will be is the question.

Authentic mode can't be really authentic if the base core Is the competitive one, just slowed down and with a less invasive 1vs1 a.i

A football game must be build around the unpredictably the real game Is.
It's not a matter of game's speed. We9le and fifa16 are fast but still the best two, to me, in both franchise because they have a lot of randomness due their free physics and a.i
You can't create a football SIM and want it to be totally predicatable. It can't be only a matter of inputs...just go play fighting game so.
There must be a risk/reward, vision and football i.q skills involved in gameplay.
You can put 47294293 more animations with the most fancy technology but if fundamentals (ball physics, A.I as a team, player individuality, randomness, etc..) and are not there then the game is just a streamlined arcade.
PS2 Pes games, due their technology limitations, can't be considered real simulation today, but they have all fucking fundamentals on point. This is why they are so fun to play and scoring a goal is the most satisfying experience from any other football game...

Fc is just a SNES Super Soccer with 30+ years technology more which allows better graphics and more animations, and i am not totally saying this as an hyperbole.

I see some randomness and unpredictability when it comes to shooting and scoring goals (compared to last years)

But passing and ball control are still bad ... it just "how can i perform input as quicly as possible" animations, but slowed down for authentic gameplay

One thing which feels really apparent switching from one game to the other is the pitch feels very crowded on EAFC, almost like the players are too big? The weird thing is it doesn't seem to prevent the ball transitioning from front to back in a 2 passes, yet everything feels really claustrophobic?

I've given it a number of games and the fundamental way players move is just a complete no-go for me. The way every player manipulates the ball like they're playing futsal just makes everything feel like is gliding, with no inertia or regard for physics. The ball feels like is just slides around whilst glued to the player's feet.

See you all again next year I guess :LMAO:

Ok lads, I will make it short. Are there jesus F christ FOULS from AI like in a normal football match? Will I get Free Kicks? I am asking for this for years here. And everytime I say I don´t buy a game if there are no fouls. Thanks.

Categorically no. (Not even the crazy flying tackles-from-behind that were patched into previous titles, though I'm grateful for that frankly.)

There are no fouls unless you draw the AI into fouls. Even with the sliders set to specifically make them foul more, it does nothing.

As usual with the sliders in this series, they do absolutely NOTHING. I put pass and shot error to 99 for a test. After 45 minutes, the AI had 96% pass accuracy whilst I had 93% and every shot by the AI was perfect.

I am not going to talk about the modding situation here though. I am going to let the heat die down before doing that. All I will say is. Hold off if you are only buying this game because you think mods will fix it.

Thank you guys. So the game is basically broken and unplayable like during the last... I even don´t remeber, 8 or 9 years?!? I go back to PES 4/5 or PES 17.

This is unbelieveable in 2025, the most ignorant bunch of imbeciles is in EA. It has nothing to do with UT or online, they can implement this. They are just lazy.

I started a ML on PES 2021 just to get a feel for how different it is. A 5 year old game and it's absurd how much better it feels (yet far from perfect - i'm looking at you guarunteed AI FK goals).

Compare this with the FC 26 video I posted early. I actually have to BUILD UP my attacks and not just ping it as quickly as possible to my fastest player. Crossing and sending the ball out wide is actually worthwhile. The block by the AI that stops the goal in the second video - all stuff that just feels great. It was a long session and i'd post more awesome stuff in the games I played but don't want to clog this thread with a different game.

In summary though, for an 'authentic' game EA FC is way off. Good game in small doses, but it's not football.

I've played an entire half a season in career mode and had one attacking free kick the entire time.

No AI yellow cards, and probably only about 5 fouls in total over ther course of every game.

We need a David Rutter like back...
Sam has no clue about what a football game should be.
To be honest, the game would not look different with David Rutter. We have to realize that this is the most they have to do. It is not even only about Fifa. Every sports game is the same. The games are (much) worse than what they released until 10 years ago, but especially the younger target group never played those games and they never played games before all the Fifa Coins, VC etc. Even if the gameplay is total garbage, most players spend thousands on those currencys in the first weeks alone. So EA, Konami, 2k and so on earn in 2 weeks more than they did with all the great games in the past. Why would they even try? Take a look at the eFootball thread. Compared to even PES 2013, this game is a joke. But there are still so many who try to convince themselve, that efootball is a great game. And they buy virtual currency, which gives Konami an excuse to never ever make a better product.

And if you look at NBA 2k for example: There are so many people that play that game but never ever had a hand on a basketball in real life. So they don't even know the sport itself. They just want some fun and action. NBA 2k26 has nothing do to with real life basketball. If it just looks a little bit like the real thing, that's enough. And it is the same with Fifa and Konami.

The whole industry is late stage capitalism. It is only about getting the most money with the least amount of effort. It is not any more about having a vision or direction. It is only about making money. And unfortunately the younger generation is already brainwashed and thinks this is normal.

Report it to EA, it is unacceptable

Infinite growth is killing all products. Not just video games. It all stems from return on investment percentage being higher and higher every year.
