EA SPORTS FC 25

What is it then? It’s basic steam. All you can do is set controller to default, turn steam input on and off.

when you have like 4 controller connected plus keyboard and mouse… it messes stuff up. I had that before. No worries, I use an active hub and can disable the particular device with a button press.

Plus lots of articles and forum comments on „controller not detected by fifa using steam“ online… anyway. It’s working for me now. 😊
For games with native support, I would simply turn Steam input off for that game. Otherwise, you always risk that Steam emulates a Xbox controller using the input of your steering wheel or other crazy stuff.

Anyone know if they addressed the kit flow? Kits seemed to be waving in a weird manner, even when players stand still. Looks a bit odd
I think it's related to high wind speeds. It looks better when you lower the wind setting.

Hey guys I've been thinking of maybe getting FC25 in the next few weeks (still on the fence, don't know if I should wait or give it a shot).

I think one of the most defining factors for me is this: In FIFA 23 and FC 24 PC versions, one thing I disliked was how offensive it was. Even with sliders (I used Operation Sports), a lot of games ended up with each team shooting over 20-25 shots, sometimes even 30, which IMO is way too high. (I usually play 10 minute halves).

It seemed to me like both FIFA 23 and FC24 were really, really offensively geared, too much so for my liking. Defenses seemed quite porous in both games, and most matches I've played ended up being offensive, counterattacking shot-fests, which I don't think is realistic.

In your opinion, does FC25 (either with simulation settings or otherwise), fix this offensive carnival and has actually midfielders who track back and defenses that respond well? This is one of the most important points in deciding whether I'm going to buy the game or not.

Thanks for your input.

Haha, after speaking a bit with @Anth James and @Byronic I decided to take the plunge with the 50% discount (which runs until the 27th or 28th I believe)!

Haven't applied any gameplay mods (yet, but I probably will!), and played an exhibition in the K-League with simulation sliders and my usual settings (semi passing, World Class) and guess what.. I've enjoyed it! Doesn't seem as end to end and there is a definite weight to the players that was lacking in some of the previous installments!

Very preliminary observations, but I liked what I've seen so far! :TU:

In my opinion fc25 is by far better from 23,24 regarding defense. I couldn't play these versions for the exact reason you mentioned but on Fc25 you can have more realistic gameplay and better defense. The caveat is that you have to be patient and spend a lot of time working with sliders to bring the gameplay to your liking.
But is rewarding. For the first time in FIFA series i felt that using custom sliders i could literally play 45 minutes halfs and the score would be like 1-1.
With sliders i play 9 minutes halfs,manual
controls in legendary and scores like real football. And I have goalkeepers at 53.
Old FIFAs I had goalkeepers to 95+
Also a large number of shots are being blocked by defenders and cannot reach the keeper,if you have marking slider to 75 for example. It's a matter of sliders but as I said you might spend a lot of time to find best result but it's worth it

Just took the plunge for half price on PS5. Let's see if I can manage more than half an hour which was the case last year. Otherwise it's back to modded to the hilt pes21

This game Is not perfect, 1vs1 brings some issue at defending, but this year is not that bad and with pratice can give some satisfaction at defending...
It's impossible came from pes21 and think to be able to play this game after some minutes...
And this Is my opinion, but I really can't see where Pes21 should be more realistic,or at least fun, than this. Because players are heavier? They lacks a lot animations for a 360 dribbling's control, they lacks explosivness..
A.i Is a lot worse, with midfield that doesn't cover passing lanes, shooting sucks, physical collisions sucks and variety of scenario too.
The only thing pes21 do better than Fc25 is ball passing physics.

CPU defenders that keep watching and staring while you walking down the wings on legend level is neither fun nor realistic to me. They can cover passing lanes night and day, because all you need is to walk and cross.

I've been lucky enough to set up a new PC over the last couple of months - thanks to @Placebo - and managed to play PES 2021 and FC25 last night. Unmodded.

I've not played either game for a long stretch of time now, so I was wondering how they'd feel when I was coming to them "fresh".

Beforehand, I was watching Bayern v Augsburg live. The way Augsburg defended as a team (until the hour mark anyway) - aggressively compact, hunting in packs at the right moments...

That's where FC25 completely falls down for me - 9 traffic comes plus 1 actual defending player. How you get past that, I don't know - it's like playing a racing sim with no brakes.

And that's the problem FIFA/FC has had for a long time - they have no interest in recreating the art of defending, the tactics of it, working to unlock a bit of space... so they just... don't.

Then there's the passing, which "feels" nothing like kicking a ball (there's no pull-back and equivalent power to the pass, which even ISS Pro Evo on the PSX captured - it's just a magic orb with no friction that speeds instantly to where you want it to go, and it feels so disconnected from your input/reality).

PES 2021... It's stiff, the AI is really shallow and really barebones, there's very little variety in ball contact, it's predictable, it's boring.

But when I play Augsburg and they defend in almost the same manner, and I can't find space to save my life, and every shooting opportunity feels like a hard-earned reward (without having to score to feel good about my effort)...

...and when the player's kicking motion matters so much that there's never a pass where I'm left wondering "how did that ball just fly at 100mph when I merely scraped a toe against it"...

...then I struggle to give FC another chance. (And that's despite the fact that all-in-all, I don't really like PES 2021 either.)

That's because there is no perfect football game.
FC25 has issues where the game is incredibly scripted, passing is too accurate and whether you tap the button or hold it down it always goes to the player.
Manual is also accurate then every now and again it will mess up the most simplest of passes which makes it un-realistic in another way.

Only played PES 2021 against another human and the game is pretty clunky but you actually feel proper achievement when you score and feel that you worked at it.

FIFA 16 is my personal favourite still although it feels a bit tanky (control wise) compared to modern FIFA's the gameplay is the best of any FIFA.
Teams defend how they should, it is a challenging game even on WC - It starts cheating on levels above this.
Which is my main problem with FIFA 25 every game pretty much feels the same and the game is incredibly easy even on Ultimate - Started another career with Forest and P3 W3 with a goal difference of +8 - The only time the game is completely different is if teams play 3 or 5 at the back then it is 6 to 9 - nil games.
I think I am only playing FIFA 25 is because it is the only time the game has been playable for years and isn't the complete and utter dog turd that FIFA 21-24 were.

I would also recommend to try FIFA 25 on Ultimate as I found every skill level below defenders intentionally run out your way and encourage you to score.

Downloaded free e sim turf and camera mods, with help of a very generous member on the editing forum.

I have to say...I really like this game. It has flaws, but on sim mode, with realistic turf and a proper stadium camera, it replicates a really good amount of the modern game. And the midfield is fine for me on WC. Not perfect, but fine.

I bought the game on steam during the sales. I see the improvements over the past years particularly in terms of players movement, but for me it still fails massively to replicate the sport. Where is the randomness? Where is the physicality? Where is the fight for the determinent ball touch? Of course, where is the team game? Launching FIFA 16 immediately after, it feels like all is in there and I am actually replicating the sport.
Also graphically, I can't understand why on night game with the Pro cam on ultra settings, my player shadow is a black circle with stripes.

Like the motto says, if it was in the in the game, it was in the game. Not anymore.

All they need to do is get rid of the 1v1 mechanism to fix a lot , not all, of the issues and then get the AI defenders to behave like defenders. When the AI is attacking put your controller down and watch how your AI team mates move or don't move

I'm also enjoying the free version of the mod by @Danielz and it's definitely good. Of course it's still FC, but it's way more enjoyable under many aspects than it is without the gameplay mod.
I haven't tried any other gameplay mod yet (probably going to, though, as I think modders see things differently from each other and that will lead to different approaches in gameplay editing).

If you guys are interested you can check my thread HERE. I'm developing a new gameplay and will share a first test version tomorrow.

I'm working a lot on real life physics and collisions as you can see in short video I posted. Have you ever seen this kind of collison in recent fifa titles ?
