It also does that on any launcher.
Steam you click play and it launches.
EA Play click game and it launches.

GOG is absolutely no different to Steam or EA App..

I think what they were getting at is that GOG doesn't need to be running after you've bought and downloaded the game. You can launch the game exe directly.

EDIT: Also. Without being nerdy here but actually, those other launchers dont just "click play and it launches". A lot of other things occur before it does launch. On crap systems and internet that can take a looooong time.
 
i have installed it on german, then changed language over steam to english, downloaded just a few kb files.

Started the game, it was english and at the splash screen it showed bottom left "X for change language" just changed it back to german.

Text was german ans commentary english
Unfortunately I use ea app and repairing the files doesn't fix it :/ but thank you
 
Decided to try it out due to that 50% discount, glad I did that on ea app instead of steam, since in ea app/shop we have 24h for refund, which I just did, because I couldn't bear with it anymore, unfortunately. Last I tried was fifa23, and nothing has changed since, fundamentally it's still the same miserable gameplay that puts me off with 0 fun at all, nothing can fix that, simulation mode, custom sliders, or paying 15$ for 5+ patreon mods per month, which on its own makes fc/fifa scene/community atrocious. I'm happy some of u guys can enjoy it, I just can't.
 
I was also considering buying it as it's still in the '50% off' period on the EA app but I'm not really sure I should.
Any suggestions? Is it still worth trying (I seemed to understand tht it was, at release) or have the TUs ruined it in the meantime?
 
I'm on football life at the moment and really enjoy it , I get you like the stadiums and presentation but what.about the actual.gameplay ? Every video I've seen the defenders are not defending
Football life suffers from the same pragmatic of all new PES after 2014, the generic repetitive one dimensional shooting with no variation...something for me is a total turn off, can t play pes anymore because of it...
The problem is, if a player is directioned towards the left post, almost 90% of the time the shot will go the same place same trajectory every friggin time, it s so repetitive and boring....

Also the gameplay of football life looks arthritic. Or like every player has three more spinal vertebrae.

Only ea fc really captures the explosiveness of modern football, albeit imperfectly.
 
Are there any fouls from.the AI ? I couldnt see half time or full time stats

Hardly any - The CPU never fouls and when it does it is a stupid braindead tackle which no one but Vinny Jones or Paul Scholes would make.

Me on the other hand though - I am really aggressive and can be pretty dirty.

Seems to me like sliding tackles this year aren’t as aggressive against the opponent but more toward the ball collecting side of things…?!

Gameplay



Made the following change:

Crosses can now result in the ball moderately landing further ahead of the receiver.

Addressed the following issues:

The defensive line could have dropped deeper than intended while the attacking team was controlling the ball in the defending team’s half.

Central and Defensive Midfielders could have dropped too deep when the attacking team entered the defensive team’s side of the pitch.

Sometimes, a ground pass could have incorrectly sent the ball behind the intended receiver.

Tackling inputs did not always register in locked-to-player modes.

In rare instances, goalkeepers could have jumped significantly higher than intended.

Improved goalkeeper decision making when attempting to make saves as the ball crosses the goal line.

Improved goalkeeper positioning when attempting to save short distance shots.

Goalkeepers could have sometimes not attempted to make a save against powerful long distance shots.

Headers were sometimes significantly less accurate than intended.

Ground passes performed during free kicks were not always directed towards the intended receiver.

In some instances, lob passes were less accurate than intended.

Improved ball physics in certain contested shooting and clearance scenarios.

Players could have lost the ball easier than intended while being contested during a Skill Move.

Improved referee logic when making advantage calls in Rush matches, penalty calls in Rush matches, and 11v11 contested offside situations.

In rare scenarios, an incorrect injury animation could have occurred in online matches.

Improved goalkeeper logic in Rush matches when attempting to clear the ball.

Sometimes, a lob pass could have occurred instead of a requested cross in Rush matches.

In rare cases, a buzzer beating goal originating from a corner kick in Rush did not count as part of the scoreline.

Requested Skill Moves were sometimes not performed when requested near the touch line.

Addressed instances of Player Switching not functioning as intended.

Improved substitution logic to better avoid unnecessary CPU AI substitutions early in matches.

Reduced instances of unnecessary suggested early game substitutions.

Ultimate Team



Addressed the following issues:

Some Evolution Progression Summary UI elements were misaligned.

Addressed some stability issues that could have occurred when using the Transfer Market through the SBC flow.

Clubs



Made the following change:

Rush pre-match team sheets now display player Rank Points and Club Victory Points.

Addressed the following issue:

In some cases, it was slightly easier than intended to receive a high match rating in Rush matches.

Career Mode



Addressed the following issues:

Player agents were sometimes requesting a lower wage for their client when transferring to a user controlled club.

General, Audio, and Visual

Made the following change:

Updated some player portraits, kits, stadium, celebrations, scenes, messages, button callouts, badges, gloves, balls, headbands, banners, flags, boots, tattoos, wardrobes, ad boards, hair, trophies, audio, and commentary.

Addressed the following issues:

Addressed instances of placeholder text and incorrect UI elements.

Addressed instances of various stability issues that could have occurred.

i am really wondering what EA is doing when i read the Patch rotes 😁 literally FC25 is most things of FC24 and there are so many bugs they are patching.
Cant understand why there are so many things to patch again.

The no fouls has been a killer for me for the last few years against the AI. I just can't play a football game with no fouls

Different experience here. Speaking of "game is too fast" I also have custom sliders that are similar to "simulations" but I do have control on acceleration. I can control the pace of the game.

As you can see my post above, go and give it a try on ea app and you have literally 24h to refund it, just reserve few hours to do the playtest in those 24h. Nothing will make you more confident than trying it out yourself.
Except for that miserable & flawed gameplay I mentioned, it also has, shockingly, tons of bugs like it's a beta product, even reviewers who embrace that product year after year for no reason, gave it like 6/10 this year. Apart from those gameplay breaking bugs, it also has sluggish/slow menu, feels like it's 15fps there, cut scenes with full framerate feel also like 30fps. It even has this bug where sometimes your controller settings are back to default even tho u have changed them and saved in profile. It's been there for ages, still not addressed.
Funny thing FC 25 has 50% discount and FC 24 is full priced 😂 Since most 'mods' behind that atrocious patreon paywall are mostly free for FC24 now, and there are no more TU comming out, I gave a try to FC24 with mods, so it has a fair shot in my eyse as well, and I also..... refunded it 😅 what did I expect🤦‍♂️? I'm sure all those mods do improve 'something' but fundamentally it's still the same game, they cannot fix things without being able to change the source code, animations etc, they just try to tweak things here and there through parameters/variables exposed for modders. I know it's a fifa topic, but to finish my story, last thing I tried, was efootball 2025, and it obviously has its own issues we all know, but oh boy, let me tell you something, the gameplay fundamentals are like from different era & technology, you feel from the first pass. It's unbelievable that as blank as this product is, it's still 'free' and delivers years ahead better quality in the gameplay department that paying full price for FC & then multiple 15$ patreon subscriptions does not come even close, I mean it, not even close, and it feels like a robbery from both sides, EA & Community (just wanted to express my ❤️ apprecations to @Paul-v). It's not only gameplay that is miles better, there are also other things, like player models, turf, gameplay camera overall graphics (even with its 💩 rendering engine), physicallity, responsivness (somehow FC feels sluggish and not responsive, maybe it's that hypermotion bs adding xxxx animations and the engine cannot handle that properly at 60fps, even 240fps), collisions and I would even argue animations. Anyway, I advise anyone to make their own opinion on thsoe products, since nowadays, you can refund things, so nothing really stops you testing them out yourself, maybe one or the other will 'click' for you, and this is what only matters at the end of the day, not someone else's opinion.

Lower speed doesn't work as it breaks CPU defense attention even more. You cqn literally just walk on goal with closed eyes.
 
Talking of fouls. I won a penalty in my career mode within the first 10 matches (including pre-season) that I played. Can't remember the last time I won a penalty in Efootball/PES. Maybe PES 2018? And I've played them all.

As someone who has not owned FIFA since 2014, the one thing which EAFC is still behind on compared to Efootball is still the passing. The delay on the passing from releasing the button to the player kicking the ball is off-putting at the moment. Plus I feel there is inconsistency with power and direction so I never feel completely in control. It's also a lot trickier to pass through small gaps on EAFC and I find my ai teammates don't make as intelligent runs as they do on Efootball.

EAFC ai opposition also need to have more variety when they shoot. Always seems to be power shots they are going for and never any attempts to place the ball low into the bottom corner of the goal.

I'm still very early on into my time with EAFC though and overall I've still put more time into this in the two days I've had a chance to play it compared to the last couple of years of Efootball. There's plenty of depth to the career mode and although not as good gameplay wise overall currently (maybe I just need to play more and forget the Efootball/PES feel) I'd still choose playing this over Efootball which is still in demo mode to me as a strictly offline player.
