I just want to know if AI play defence like on previois fifa's (16,17,18,19) or it has the same flaw to easily past defenders and have crazy scorelines?

pes 21 is miles ahead in some aspects, not all, in pes 21, the ai is just one dimensional at best, and it has repetitive scoring behavior if you play Master league,the only good thing about pes 21 is the passing mechanics, the build up play, it is second to none, but once u arrive to the penalty box, it s a rigid automatic game
 
Playing through my second 10 hour trial on Xbox & I don't know how anyone can enjoy playing against this a.i.

90% of teams point blank refuse to cross the ball & every goal they score is a cut back from the byline & near post shot or some physics defying tiki taka inside the box.

Utter shite

Makes Efootball a.i look like a masterpiece & that's saying something.

For a game that introduced playing style and philosophies as a feature, All teams play identically with the usual dribble into the box from the byline then a cutback where your defenders walk way, And no crossing.

Reminds me of PES's ai where they just pass it to a guy on the edge of the are and he turns and shoots all game.

There's like an hour of offline fun in this game for every 10 hours you play & most of that is from performing the glorious slide tackles.

The rest is mind numbingly boring.

This only applies to non modded pes, the AI score a wide variety of goals on modded versions

No. The first next-gen version was Fifa 22, so old-gen versions are now simply using Fifa 21 as a base which is still as dreadful as it gets with 1v1s and all that crap. It just doesn't have hypermotion so animations can seem different or even a bit better. You're basically getting Fifa 21 with updated rosters.

bite the bullet, two versions were available with the purchase, I am sure ps4 versions plays a lot better. will test and see. thank you :)
 
The Goalkeepers in this game are the worst I've ever seen in a 'football' game.

Diving while facing the wrong way, that stupid forward dive and then they put both hands up like they are being robbed at gunpoint and it's anyone's guess where the ball ends up (usually in the back of your net).

I just can't get my head around the fact they can release a game which is full of glitches and bugs, yet charge people for it.

You wouldn't go down your local Curry's, buy a washing machine only to find when you set it up, it doesn't actually wash clothes. Or that Curry's say 'Well, keep hold of it, in a few weeks we will do an update so it does wash clothes but with that update will probably mean it will fry your clothes instead cos we've not got a clue what we are doing'.
 
To all: You already probably know this but just in case you don’t, if you go into settings there’s an option to select “fast paced” game which is a massive improvement on the overall fun of the game. So at least there might be some enjoyment from single player at least. I guess we’re stuck with slow motion gameplay for online though.

As you can see, there are countless “licensed” alloys, but which receive aesthetic treatment as “generic”.
While Konami (they may have millions of defects blahblahblah), but all the licenses that are acquired by the Japanese producer have a great finish. And it's always been like that.

I honestly don't understand EA's logical reasons for following this bizarre pattern. And, the most insane factor, is that none of this is possible to edit.

I never understand this you know they have all license but fonts and other graphic stuff is es basic…. For me licensed mean EVERYTHING plus with Stadiums

Very old user here but lastly I am not posting anymore…

just one question for people that have the game ( since I still refuse to give ea money due to the state of the series nowadays).

I played the 3 hours trial Sony gave me on the nba2k24 and I am Staggered impressed with the new technology of capturing the game from real games, with resulted in insanely more realistic animations and player movement , positioning in this new version of the game. You can really feel all this while playing.

Since EA has the same type of technology for the eafc24, how is the game feel in regards to player animations and positioning and movements off the ball ?
Being honest, seeing videos , it didn’t looked much improved compared to FIFA 23 , but actually playing it can feel different.

How you guys are feeling about this…?

Just a quick observation, since i don’t have eafc24 , I decided to make a quick tour on my fifa games on ps5 And series X .
Have all games since fifa14 and installed and played some matches this week in FIFA 14, 15 , 16 and FIFA 20 and wow!!
Played few matches in FIFA 14 and FIFA 15 and couldnt score 1 or 2 goals ( playing world class, all controls on semi except long ball and through ball on manual) , no sliders, and playing broadcast cam ( more difficult cause of the angles) , world class , normal speed.
2 minutes on fifa 20 , same presets and the game were already 2x2 hahahaha!!

other really incredible visible thing is how old fifas had better player dribbling, movement with the ball ( phisics, inertia and logic) compared to the skate , robotic movement off new fifas…
It’s actually really really apparent playing those games one after the other.
 
Been playing on Ultimate difficulty (career mode) and it felt like I was losing my mind.

The way the AI pings the ball around and shoots through the goal keeper is just ridiculous. It's like the defenders and keepers are intangible the way the AI powers through them.

Interestingly, I don't know if it's a bug or a feature but the defending buttons sometimes don't work and if you want to win the ball back you have to move your defender towards the attacking player and the AI automatically wins the ball for you. I saw someone say this and it didn't make sense but when I tried it, it actually worked.

Why the developers feel this is the ideal way to defend is beyond me and actually kind of goes against the "skill gap" talk when the AI is tackling and winning the ball back for the player. The way EA had moved away from any kind of realism in the FIFA games is just bizarre.

20 was the first to implement 1v1 and the title where midfield pressure and defensive structure decided to piss off.

Hypermotion is definitely to blame for the crappy graphics/sliding to an extent but it started creeping in with 20 onwards where players animations were never going to be performed at a realistic speed unless you bumped down acc. to have no effect on stamina. The Xbox One versions of 22 and 23 were much better in terms of sliding as I imagine the PS4 version is similar.

With that being said, the game is still dogcrap even minus the sliding.
 
I bought this game with ps4 version in mind with really low expectstions. But the ps5 version plays a lot better! That hypermotion skating can be nerfed down with increasing acceleration slider a bit, lower pass speed a little and sprint values, and the most important first touch to 25. Also it's important to play on fast paced becouse this mode somehow minimises skating and it's not fast as expected.
I enjoyed the variety how team plays both offensive and defensive. There are so many little things that make the game interesting, I like the one pass and move right analog stick for where passer to run after passing the ball.
The hypermotion in this years game is most obvious defensevly, teams group in defence much better than 23 and that makes easier but rewarding to defend which is great.
With the 7 hours I spend playing it I am excited to play it more. It's not perfect but if you give it a chance and learn a little to play/adjust from pes you can find great game.

I know a lot of people hate it or having a really Bad expérience. You go on YouTube and you can see the big problèmes : skating, dumber speed, no inertia, and always the famous now : run, run, pass, run, shit, goal formula.

But, I don't why, they add some latency in the controls, like PES did and it brings a lot to gameplay. You can't see that on a video.
Even if you hate FIFA 23 vanilla, EAFC24 have a better gameplay. It's not a simulation, still a mix of arcade game with sometimes nice animations.

Since many years, slow speed is playable and it very helpful.
On YouTube, people told me they like my sliders but it's to easy for us.
So now with slow speed and Legend, we got challenge and a human gamespeed gameplay. I can now playing in the evening top.

I saw less skating animations than on normal speed.

I want to thanks all the modding/sliders community who try to bring some football feeling in this arcade game.

Videos help to see the differences with the vanilla game so let's go!

Have you guys tried Beyond Broadcast audio option?! I enabled it and together with mix mode set to 5.1 it sounds really good to me. More action from the ranks.
What do you think?
 
Haven't got the game - heck Haven't even bothered with New Gen consoles so far (See, in A Levels gaming takes a pretty huge backseat) - but interested to see people's opinions so far. Utter trash? Worse than expected? Just as expected? Better than Expected? How's it kicking on? (Yeah, don't really have the time for reading previous posts much either)

And is it the same as FIFA 23?

I suppose it shows you how different everyone’s experiences with the game are because I disagree completely with all of your choices. Raising acceleration & playing on fast paced is madness to me. I play on slow. I also think 25 for first touch control is a bad choice. I go with the OS sliders choice of 100. Different strokes for different folks.

if you experiment a little you will find that actually pass speed is the most brutal slider for crushing the speed of the game. somehow players speed movements are attached more on that slider than acc slider. acc slider actually make the players move more pes-like and build more momentum while actions are flowing. everyone have different approach and what they like, for me the combo I said give more good old pes feeling that I am used to. I don't like slugish and slow movement, that feels unrealistic to me.

not true lol, the midfielders defend, the pacing is fine, and a lot of the newer animations 22 onwards are there too
