EA SPORTS FC 24

So if I am correct, this will be available next Friday via EA Play for a 10-hour trial.

I must admit, it's surreal seeing such little activity or anticipation of a "FIFA" so close to launch. I'm personally looking forward to this and will take it for what it is, a casual football game that looks great at times and jarring at others. Like 23, I'll go in with low expectations however since playing on PC with gameplay mods, my enjoyment of 23 has increased significantly and has improved my enthusiasm for 24.

Is anyone else picking up the trial next Friday for the sake of £4?
I have pre-ordered the ultimate version on Xbox Series X so i can play it early the 21th by changing my country to New Zeland 👀.

I really appreciate the beta so i already know 90% of the game. I hope the last 10% will not kill the nice gameplay after some sliders🤞

First time in years I am not going to buy, seems strange. But for the amout of game time I get 1 football game is more than enough and for me it's pea 21/football life

I did.

I do this thing every single year, promising myself it's the last time but FIFA is the only footy game on the market that we can treat seriously (comparing to eDemo 2024.)

Due to having great mods again I'll pay 40 quid + 4 to get an early access hoping the game will get some great mods a few days after its release.

I'm still with PES 2021 but we need something fresh, something new, something modern..

The game is already installed on my xbox series x and get a 4 gb update yesterday. Are you ready for a tiki-taka gameplay?

This will be the first year I won’t buy it either.

I spent last year using @Matt10 and @saturator sliders. They both put so much work in. And really changed the game.

BUT… I just can’t get past the jelly legs anymore, or the instantaneous reactions of the AI, or the 100mph backheels, or the changing direction at warp speed, that would break a leg in real life. The basic physics have just been so warped now that it‘s crazy (even using sliders).

I eventually went back to PES 21 and although it’s got its own faults, at least everything moved at something like the pace of a football match, and things like inertia exist.

Fifa is no longer remotely like anything to do with football.

They achieved their aim. They turned Fifa/EA FC into something else. I don’t even know what to call it - maybe let’s call it “ROCKET BALL”. Yes, that’s what they should call it, ROCKET BALL.

It’s so sad.

I don't think it will be £4 will it ? You need ea Pro or plus I think which is 15 I think ?

Do people who have the beta get more or less the full game ? I'd like to see some of the leeds united scanned faces if anyone can upload?

The hype is very very low this year😅
The communication is very poor: lack of information of the licences, new stadiums.

On the beta, there is an option who help to have more inertia and I didn't read it on the Deep Dive.

it's "pass receiver lock"

1/Power up : the pass receiver is locked as soon as the pass button is released or the power bar reaches full power. This is the earliest possible receiver lock.

2/ Animation Start : the pass receiver is locked early, at the time when the kicking animation begins.

3/ Late : the pass receiver is locked as late as possible, around the same approximate time as when the ball is kicked.

The 3rd option with acceleration around 49/49, you noticed inertia and a better foot planting, with a more detailed animation in control and pass for you and the CPU.

The 1st option is for FUT players.

Pass receiver lock early /late has been in since at least 22. Or have they changed it

ROCKET LEAGUE? Nah actually the ball and physics on that are more realistic.

Dont forget that we are a community (2% or less) that we unhappy about the ea sports game.
The others users are happy and buy it. So the is a hype but not for you, me and some others users here.

Jesus Christ.

He is a content creator and wil probably ake triple back from the stream/video that he envitable does on spending those 34k of points but the issue is that it is irresponsible given that the majority of his audience will be kids, he is normalising spending huge amounts of money on what is essentially gambling, it is a slippery slope for these kids when this kind of behaviour becomes normal, my son who is 15 loves Ultimate Team and is always nagging to be able to spend FIFA points but as responsible parents we do not allow him to do so and try to explain but most parents don't realise the dangers and give in and let their kids spend all of their pocket money on this rubbish.

Yeah I'll be picking it up as well. I can't help myself every year haha. I'm sure I'll complain as I usually do, but I'm looking forward to modding the gameplay and just hoping that I have a few little extra things helping me compared to last year. I'm praying for some defensive/behavioural improvements even if they're minor and incidental.

Yes I know mate but i have played 1000 matchs on FIFA 23 so I want to play EAFC 24 this tuesday.
The beta shows some really great things about physics and I have managed to have some really enjoyable games.

I'm scared if for exemple the better ball physics is no more there or the better IA whom now push the ball to beat a defender to make a cross IS gone.
It's not a new gameplay but they have made a lot of little tweaks in the right direction.

You can actually enjoy the game in first week. Don't get used to it. First update will change it drastically. Same story every single year :-)
I played FIFA 23 all over the year so i'm not afraid.
For my tastes, i know what I have to changein the sliders to continue playing FIFA.

EA FC 24 beta was very closed to FIFA 23, so sliders for FIFA 23 will have the same result.
Only major change : marking is stronger on EAFC 24 than FIFA 23.

A marking of 50/50 have the same result than a sliders of 65/65 in FIFA.

I was reading through the gameplay pitch notes from here https://www.ea.com/games/ea-sports-fc/pitch-notes/news/fc-24-gameplay-deepdive#defending, and something caught my eye:

Pressure Tactics Changes

When using pressure tactics, such as Constant Pressure, Pressure After Possession Loss or Pressure on Heavy Touch, a player’s marking tightness will be more varied, so not all players will be tightly marked. The goal for this change is to prevent the flow of the game from completely changing when one user switches to a pressure tactic, allowing the attacking team to make smart passing decisions to break the pressure.

This got me thinking, as I've always used Pressure on heavy touch in Fifa 23, and I just played one match with Balanced for Defending style.
It seemed to me that this even makes a difference in Fifa 23, the defenders actually mark the attackers way better. This might be placebo, I have to test more.
I am playing with OS sliders, slow, world class.
Give it a go if you are inclined.

sadly it will be the same shit different name... No massive changes will be made any "new" features will be renamed slightly reworked or straight out what we had before...

I hope UFL will be good but as they are going down the Fut clone route it may not be the savior of football games
