On the official chelsea website, they have said that they believe that kezman will be available for the opening game of the season...

Regarding statements in the media this afternoon over the availability of Mateja Kezman following his sending off in the match against Roma, Chelsea believe the situation to be unchanged.

In accordance with FIFA Article 39, he was suspended for the following game against AC Milan and thus served his punishment.

Under this new Article any player sent off automatically misses the next game in the same competition. Therefore he will be available for Premier League games.

interesting. Pidgeley is back in the fold, and Ambrosio hasn't been given a squad number. Perhaps he'll be off soon too.

Mutu still has a place then, what's happened to Macho?

Just read this also:

Adrian Mutu's move to Juventus is in the balance because owner Roman Ambramovich wants a permanent rather than a loan deal. (The Times, Daily Mail, Daily Express)

Going Sunday? Can't see how we ended up with Zaragoza!? Good work Chelsea.....

I hope to be there, are you going? If you want to recognise me, i'll be wearing a Chelsea home shirt.

PS Are you going to the open day tomorrow at The Bridge? i might be a bit stretched, i have so much to do tomorrow. :l

Morais Gets Chelsea Trial

Chelsea have taken young Portuguese defender Morais on trial as Jose Mourinho continues to forge links with his homeland.

The Penafiel centre back has been allowed to head for West London to obtain some experience and is likely to be monitored closely by the Premiership club as he progresses.

Although Chelsea have reportedly been impressed with the youngster, they could take the option of viewing the player as a possible long-term recruit.

"I still do not know what my future is going to bring," the 20-year-old O Jogo.

Penafiel, who finished third in last season's Campeonato Nacional de Futebol (the Portuguese Second Division), actually already have a link with Chelsea as Morais's young defensive partner Mauro was on the books of the Stamford Bridge club.

Morais scored two goals last term and is an Under-20 international for his country.

Yeah, i'm also going to the Zola match on Sunday,.. should be alright!

Apparently Mutu is off. a shame I thought he had fighting spirit.

However he's a second striker like Guddy, Arjen, Duffer and Cole so we should have the backup.

Good, i knew he would stay, he is a great striker, he just had a bad season, im sure he would show if we didnt have to rotate, hopefully he can cope with that for this season.

Mutu was at the open training session today.. he was injured unfortunately.

Jim, the link for the chelsea wallpaper doesnt work and i would so like to see your work of art featuring the greatest team in england!

Well apparently Chelsea will field a first team against Real Zaragoza and Zola will come on as a substitute. So hopefully we'll be seeing Drogba, Kezman etc...

It's a sell out too!

back from the Bridge :D

Chelsea 3 - 0 Real Zaragoza

..as i predicted (to myself really). Drogba got the first, 10 mins in, from a great cross by Ferreira. The next was an own goal crossed in again by Ferreira, and the third was by Parker, assist from Kezman, who incidentally missed a real sitter!! Zola came on with about 25-20 mins left. He had a good pop at a FK just outside the box, but that was about it from the little man.

So whats Zola going to do now? Go back to that division 2 Italian club or is that it? Whatever he does, I wish him the best, he is the true best Chelsea player of all time.

Well, that was a white knuckle ride, wasn't it!?

I don't think we learnt much yesterday, other than the team that played in the first half was probably the one to face the mancs next week. I'm not sure what is wrong with Bridge that Baba got the nod, but he did ok anyhow. Ferreira finally showed why we paid £13 million for him and I particularly liked the look of Carvalho, really composed and classy player.

I'm not keen on the shape of the midfield though. Like last year, we lack width and although we have much better strikers this year, I still think we will struggle when teams come to defend at the Bridge. Duff and Robben will work well on the left, but I really don't like Geremi. No pace or urgency - give me Scotty Parker there anyday.

Up front, Drogba looked a little rusty but was still dangerous, Kezman was always a nuisance (apart from THAT miss) and Eidur..... well he was Eidur!

We look ok, but I guess we will find out how they play competitively on Sunday.

Kezman will always miss chances, but he creates so much chances for himself that it doesn't really matter because he will score the next one or the one after.
