Mutu linked with Juventus again, I hope not. You guys should keep him, Mutu could complement either Kezman or Drogba very well.

Juve already have DP and Miccoli.

We really don't need to get rid of anymore players. I think Mutu will stay anyway, we will find out by Wednesday anyhow.

The Oxford draw is nothing to worry about either, Kezman looked sharp and like Mourhino said, it's just a trainging session against another team.

I expect to see Tiago and Drogba signed by Wednesday, hopefully not for stupid money.

What's the other Chelsea fans take on our three strikers at the mo? Do we need another?

Kezman, Mutu, Gudj, and Drogba. Perfect! ;)

I'm really looking forward to seeing Drogba, if he indeed signs. Even the Marseille President is saying it's looking very likely now. We'll see in a few days hey.

Mourinho is going to rest the England International likes of Terry, Lampard and Bridge in the US.

Although the season before you bought them both Mutu scored more and assisted more than Crespo while Mutu played for a weaker team than Crespo?
(Mutu was topassister and I beleive 3rd topscorer for Parma in 02/03)

+ In Mutu you have a support striker, a playmaking forward even. If given enough chanced Mutu'd complement Droga,Kezman and Gudjohnson better than the other 3 strikers could complement each other.

Behind Drogba or Kezman, yes, he could feed them well. Gudj is more of a playmaking forward though as he lacks pace but is certainly skillful, in more of a Bergkamp mould.
So that's 2 of each :)

Crespo ad this class legendary flair about him, you just knew that every shot he took would be worth looking at again.

You talk the biggest lot of shite ever btw.

Crespo was a dud last year, and if I remember correctly he didn't have a great season at Inter the year before (although he started well, especially in the CL). Mourinho's comments said it all, he has personal problems, it would have been foolish to keep him.

True, although Gudjohnson is very different to Mutu in my eyes. Mutu is one to create chances and Gudjohnson is more the kind of play who runs to make space or hold the ball for a moment.

Well thanks. Yes he may have not played that well, however the quality of his goals was outstanding. And Mourniho would have kept him if he comitted himself to the club, hwoever Crespo was frustrated with the rotation that did not allow him consistancy. He only started..what? 13 games this season. And managed to score 10 or 11 goals.

Anyway hes gone now, and Drogba is coming in, which is good news. For some reason, on our official club website, it lists Robben as a Striker, not an Attacking Midfielder, which is the role he will be playing for the club. That is unless we have 3 strikers injured. However that is very rare.

Dont tempt fate!!!

I do like crespo but i think that drogba is more of a fresh talent and has not yet hit his peak whereas i believe crespo has already been and gone.
I see drogba as a very exciting signing not just for chelsea but for the whole of the premiership.

The most exciting part of the Premiership for me is that 2 of the top 4 have new managers.

:l Drogba is simply the best stricker you can ever dream ...

:( so fucking sad to see my hero out of my favourite club :x

Abramovitch I HATE YOUR MONEY

To Chelsea's fans , i can tell you after 10 matchs you ll see the black panther's power , better than henry , GOLDEN MENTALITY ....

YOU GONNA LOVE HIM !!!!!!!!!! the only player we needed this year to be strongest team , was Robben , u already bought him so .....
8)

I wissh HIM HUGE SUCCESS .... i bet 20 to 25 goals the first season , and maybe 5-10 assists

 bought him 5.7 M€ how much we gonna sell ? 34-38M €

 yeahhhhhh

Actually, Drogbas coming in to London tomorrow to officially switch. Marseille get 24 Mil pounds.

Luyindula is right, Didier Drogba is something special... if he's even half as good as he was last year he's worth all the money it cost. He's a real gem and I cant wait to watch him play in the Premier League - and Ive not thought that about such a player probably since Klinsmann in 94.

Im tempted to put some £££ on him being top scorer in the PL, but im going to see if Morinho rotates strikers.

He's hard working, strong, great with the ball at his feet or in the air, quick and with a superb shot... he's the complete striker. Getting hims a good move, and for a big club its probably better to shell out for one proven world class striker, rather than getting a couple of unknowns and freebies as the other big Premier league clubs seem to have done so far this summer.

Once he settles in he should prove himself to be the best striker in the Premiership, or at lest equal to Henry.

Thanks Luyindula, i know what it's like to lose one of your greatest assets (Zola :( ). Drogba is indeed the closest thing to Henry, but imo he can head too, which gives him the aerial threat that Henry severely lacks. I reckon he's actually stronger too, but perhaps not as fast. I can't wait to see him pull on the Blue shirt.

My only problem is after seeing kezman play against oxford (yes i know its only one game) i thought he was a real live wire and we havent had a live wire for quite some time ( :( zola), and of course we cant leave drogba out, because he is the next best thing to come into the premiership imo.so dya think kezman and drogba upfront? the premiership must be shittin themselves!
Or as i jus remembered, mourinho did say that kezman coudl play wide attacking right? Any thoughts?

Those two upfront it a serious threat indeed. However, you can't just ignore Eidur, and we know what Mutu can do (and what he can't ;) ) We'll have to see what Mourinho has in mind.

Toure will still be the best Ivorian to play in the Premiership. ;)

Seriously, Drogba's a very good move. The Ivory Coast has got it going on now hasn't it? Toure, his brother Yaya (who's been compared to Vieira), Anderlecht's Dindane and of course Drogba.

Mourinho really admires Eidur. I reckon he'll look to pair the skill and vision of Gudjohnsen with the pace and ferocity of Drogba. He may even play Drogba on his own. I believe it will be a case of who he pairs with Drogba, as he will be first choice. I have no doubt about that. Having said that i am very happy with the 4 strikers we have. Oh, and there's Robben and Duff to dart in from the flanks too.

Yeh i read that a couple days ago, its good to see him in the blue kit for one last time, and its our first home game too, after the usa tour.

Chelsea deal for Dellas

Chelsea have reportedly had a fee of £3.5m accepted by Roma for defender Traianos Dellas. The 28-year-old Greek international has instructed his agents to try to wrap up the deal before the weekend.

:-s Who knows?

To all those who hate chelseas spending and too all chelsea fans who hope we dont turn into inter heres some good news!

Jose Mourinho :

“I hear a lot about the amount of money Chelsea are spending on players. I hope in one year people are asking me why we don’t buy players.

“The oldest player in our squad is Makelele at 31 years-old. I have a very young squad. We have a very good group, a very good atmosphere and I hope in a year we will not sign players. All the positions will be covered, two players for each position, all young, all great quality.

“So I hope next year we don’t spend money.”
